Hi,
We have a document in numbers that needs protecting, how can we add a password to a numbers document?
I'm assuming you're on Numbers for iOS, not for Mac, because you're asking this question in the iOS forum. The answer: not possible as of today. Hopefully this will be included in an update someday.

To my knowledge, this is how Citations & Bibliography feature works in word. We are not able to make it work in that way.
To achieve what you prefer, I would suggest you to use bookmarks
instead of citations:

I've used Numbers and Pages for IOS for sometime now and when i use safari to look at my icloud account i can see all my files. Recently i bought Numbers for Mac and now whenever i create a spreadsheet on my mac i can't see it on my iphone but i can if i login to icloud. In fact i can only see about 16 files on my iphone when there is over 40 files.
Although i don't yet have pages for mac i now have a similar problem with Pages, whenever i edit a file or even create a file on IOS it doesn't appear in icloud.
I did think it was something to do with me not selecting backup to icloud so i then spent £14 to upgrade my storage to 15GB and that hasn't helped.
I've checked all the settings and can't see anythng that will cause the problem.
My iphone is running IOS 6 and my Mac is running Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Does anyone know how to correct this mess?

Mick.Problems with buttons and links at the top of the page not working can be caused by an extension like the Yahoo! Toolbar or a Babylon extension that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

Not able to use password with characters for RFC User.
hi All,
I have installed SAP SCM 5.0 with MaxDB 7.6and liveCache 7.6.
I created RFC user and RFC destination to administer liveCache globally as per SAP notes 305634 and 452745. I changed the initial passwords and tested Remote login for RFC User.
But when I try to start liveCache with startrfc following the link below

Then I logged into the CI with RFC user and try to start the liveCache with RSLVCSTART T-Code SE38..I got the following error.
Error DBMCLI_COMMAND_EXECUTE_ERROR when starting liveCache LCS on server saplcslc
Message no. LVC007
I tried by changing the password for RFC user to numeric [0-9] and special characters [$,:] which worked fine.
Does anyone faced this issue earlier? I searched notes, sdn and finally google ... but no luck to resolve the issue.

VenkatYes I used LCA as liveCache connection. I resolved the issue with RSLVCSTART. Thanks for your suggestion to run connection test. I used wrong password for control user in the LCA connection. Now LCA connection shows everything is fine.
But I am still not able to use alphanumeric password RFC user to start the liveCache from command line. I get the following when run startrfc command...

Note the difference between the passwords used. Do i need to change any settings to accept alphanumeric passwords for RFC user.
Note that I am able to start liveCache server in both cases(alphanumeric password and numeric password) by logging into SAP GUI and RSLVCSTART program. The problem is only when i try to start the liveCache from the commandline.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Using Password with DSNless connection to Access DB
Has anyone actually used a password to connect to a local Access database? I keep getting the "Not a valid password" error.
I have created an application for distribution and do not want to allow the users to change my database, so I put a password on it. Because the users can create new databases with the program, I would like to use a DSNless connection to allow the user to change the databases easily.
I have successfully worked with the database through a DSN connection with the password, and with the DSNless connection without a password, but am unable to get in with a DSNless connection and a password.
I have read as many postings and topics using the main key words as I can find in the APIs, forums, tutorials, bug databases, etc., but this topic is not addressed.
I have tried as many permutations on the advice I did find, and nothing works so far. Here are a few of the tries I made:

The password that I set on was on the database; I did not create any users. The question about copying a database vs. creating a new one is moot here, because this database was created independently from any others. (However, you are correct in that I am actually copying a "Master" version of the database, not actually creating a totally new one.)

I trying to log in to my Iphone5 and I unable. it tell me to log in I use my password and it tellme incorrect. I try to reset and it still tell me incoreect password or Id.?

Cant use icloud with numbers. neither on mac or iPhone. osx 10.8.2, numbers 2.2. iphone 5
I have Icloud activated on booth my iphone 5 and my MBP and have the "documents" tab turned on.

I am running mountain lion 10.8.2 and numbers is updated 2.2. IOS 6 with iphone 5.sOn your computer, go to System Preferences > iCloud
Match sure things are checked there also.
On your computer, Try going to
https://www.icloud.com
and sign in.
Got to IWork > Click on Numbers at the top
Drag a Numbers file from Finder to iCloud
See of it's on your phone. -
How Do I Get Spell Checker to Flag Words with Numbers?
Hi,
I cannot find any articles on this, so sorry if it's already been answered elsewhere.
I sometimes accidentally hit a number key when typing words like "you"--so that it becomes "y9ou". The Firefox built-in spell checker does not flag this as a misspelling.
In other programs there is a check box to allow this or not, but I cannot find one for Firefox. I do not use words with numbers very often, except something like W2, so I would prefer those get flagged instead of ones that are wrong like y9ou or w3ere that I make frequently.
Any help on this?

I checked my current cop0y of LibreOffice (I replaced OpenOffice.org with it several months ago). LibreOffice uses Hunspell as well. I had not checked the boxes to check words with numbers or all-caps as I had previously done in OpenOffice.org, so for all this time I have been thinking it would flag errors in those when it wasn't. Must have made LOTS of mistakes I didn't catch in that time. ;-(
In LibreOffice, go to Tools => Options => Languages => Writing Aids. You can choose to enable spelling and grammar checking (not sure what the grammar checker oes, since it was already enabled but I have never seen any evidence of it). The below that is a section of checkboxes where you can specify what is and is not flagged by the spell checker. I checked the words with numbers and capital letters choices. So now it will catch all the acronyms I haven't added to the spell checker dictionary.
I was looking for the same sort of choice in Firefox but didn't see it. Perhaps there is an API in Hnnspell the Firefox developers can use to add this choice as a checkbox, the way it is in LibreOffice.
I realize this may be perceived as a low priority, but I would certainly appreciate seeing it in a future update of Firefox. At least making this post helped me get the settings i wanted in my word processor.

I'm using Numbers version 3.2.2.
Suddenly I cannot access my password protected Numbers file with the correct password. I have the correct password written down so I know I haven't made a mistake.
The response box that pops up says that the file cannot be opened. There are no other options for me to choose from.Also, I tried to open it through an older version of Numbers but it sent this error message.

The regular old password complexity requirements disallow the use of 3 consecutive characters that appear in the user's account name / display name, but does not prevent the use of consecutive numbers at all. For example, a user can have a password including
the string "12345". We have the need to disallow this via GP in order to make our passwords compatible with an outside service to which we would like to synchronize. I see no way to do this with the typical Password Policy settings. Anyone out
there have any hints as to how I might accomplish this?

I found an old Applie ID on a computer I use infreqently with an old IPod. I do not have the password for this AppleID. When I use the procedure to reset the password, I cannot receive the email as my email address has changed from the original used with the Apple ID. How can I get the reset information sent to my current email addres so I can establish a new passwod for this Applie ID?
FR Tecmobility is wrong, sure he means well but what he suggests will not work - signing out of iTunes Store and back in will have no effect on iCloud. Try the steps at iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
You may need to contact apple tech support if none of the password change methods work for you. Ask for Account Security. They will need to verify identity, to ensure you are who you claim to be. If that goes well, they can send a password rest e-mail to any e-mail you desigate, so make sure it is one you can access. Then reset the password. Then you can delete the iCloud account (needs the password to turn off find My Phone/Activation lock)

Read another post in the forum about this and it appears this app also installs a profile with a proxy service that you will have to try and delete as well. Check that out.

I am trying to log onto a Mac Mini I haven't used in awhile and I forgot the password. I am trying to reset the password with my apple ID but the computer keeps saying the Apple ID and the password are incorrect whenever I know they are, as I am using the exact same ID right now.
I have switched my password in the past, so my theory is my mac mini thinks that my password has not changed and it will not update because The Wi-Fi password has also changed so it cannot connect to any servers...Does that sound like I am on the right track?
Is there a way to update my Wi-Fi password (saved into the computer) without logging on?If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise, boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, type this:
resetpassword
That's one word with no spaces. Then press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select
▹ Restart
from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it. -
I have a Mac Pro using Lion, with SSD for system drive. Drive stopped booting, but otherwise appeared healthy. Restored from system backup. Now drive seems to work properly, BUT my logon password no longer works. Password OK for account; can access system preferences, and change user password there BUT logon still refuses to accept password. No luck changing password for that account after adding new administrator account and logging on from that account. Suggestions? Thanks.
If you redirect Accounts to another location (not on the Boot Drive) you need to direct them back there again after a restore.
SystemPreferences > Accounts/User&Groups > ...
... Unlock the lock, then hold down Control as you click on an Account to get access to the Advanced Options pane. -

Using a password as the encryption key is called Password-Based Encryption (PBE).
You should pass a PBE algorithm to the SecretKeyFactory.getInstance() method, such as "PBEWithMD5AndDES". This tells the secret key factory to hash the password with MD5, before using it as an encryption key (the hashing makes use of all 8 bits AFAIK).
