For christmas I got an upgrade from 3g to 5 on my phone. I also got put on the cloud, though that doesn't seem to be working just like a LOT of things don't seem to be working, (like my password mysteriously not working and spending an hour at the store resetting it) but that's neither here nor there. I never really liked the game center so I dealt with it directly as little as possible, but when trying to get back to my app games (specifically Plan X) the game center DEMANDED I pick a new nickname. My old one, which is also my apple ID was not good enough now, but with a new user ID came a completely new ID on my games and a loss of all my stats.
Then I tried restoring from backup, and joy of joys I had a new, terrible, hard-to-remember username (because ten million billion good ones have all be taken already, including my old username that was somehow unacceptable and was now "in use," figure that out) with my old save games.
basically, what the **** is going on?

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup, not good, then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod/iphone/ipad. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases

Thanks for your response Cor el, I'll try that the next time it happens, it's completely random. One moment it functions normally then suddenly it changes its mind.
Restarting my pc usually brings it back to normal until next time.
One thing I've noticed, but not 100% sure there's a connection here.....I edit my websites online and log into cpanel which opens new pages in separate tabs, as it should do. It seems that this problem occurs when I'm logged into cpanel...if i'm logged in then open a new tab for regular browsing of other sites then all links on those sites also open in new tabs.
Ican't say for sure if it's always only happened when logged into cpanel, but certainly on the last 3 occasions.
At the moment it's behaving normally so much I can do to check your suggestions, but will try them the next time it occurs.
One other thing I forgot to mention too....since i've had the new firefox, I've noticed that when I log into yahoo and post comments, I often find myself having to log on for each new post. Everything was fine with old firefox and there have been no other changes to my pc .

If you had iMovie 9 and upgraded to Mavericks, iMovie 9 should still be in your Applications folder in a folder called imovie 9.0.9. You can still use it and your Events and projects folders should still be present.

When reinstalling Firefox from a download, Firefox must be down once the installation starts. When the installation finishes, don't let the install start firefox for you. Instead end the install and start Firefox in your normal manner, thus preventing creating a new profile which does not have your bookmarks cookies, etc (but your old profile would still be around and would).

Apple is using the Emoji as their standard now. The old emoticons are gone.

How do i get the old tab switching behavior back?

I installed Firefox 8 today to give it another try after a pretty bad experience of switching from FF 3.6 to FF 4.0.
Right now, i've dealt with most of the inconveniences of the switch, but there is one thing i don't get.
What happened to the tab navigation behavior? I mean, i used to be able to switch tabs from left to right with Ctrl+Tab and from right to left with Ctrl+Shift+Tab. And it was perfect for me.
Now Ctrl+Tab is opening some sort of a preview window, and Ctrl+Shift+Tab opens the All Tabs list.
How could i get the previous behavior back? I'm too used to it to change myself simply because somebody came up with a new way that he thought would suit better.

After updating to Firefox 5.0 I can't open Adobe pdf's on websites and in the preferences for Firefox it states it's incompatible. If this is the case how can I get the old version of Firefox back?

I can't open pdf adobe reader files from websites since updating to 5.0. If it truly is incompatible with the update then I need to know how to go back to the older version of Firefox so I can access these files.

Sorry you are having problems. First of all try Fifrefox's safemode.

Pages '09 (4.1) should have no problem opening your AW6 word processing documents.
You can open an AW6 wp file in Pages by -
• Do a Get Info on the AW6 file, then choose Pages from the Open With pulldown menu. Close the Get Info window, then double-click the AW6 file. If you want to do this to all of them, befoe closing the Get Info window click the "Change all" button just under the previous pulldown menu.
• Start up Pages, use the Open item in the File menu to navigate to and open the AW6 file.
• Drop the AW6 file onto the icon for Pages.

As with Xmarks, Firefox Sync will import the bookmarks on your local computer. The bookmarks on your computer should be up to date and include any changes that are on the Xmarks servers. There is no need for Firefox Sync to import the data from the Xmarks server, it just needs to import the bookmarks on your computer.

i opened my ipad to play yesterday and i got a terms and services window. i had to re-agree. i did this. when i did it apple said they didnt recognise my id or password. i had to get a new one. apparently m,y game center had already reset itself and i didnt know it. now i dont have my dragonvale game anymore . my frinds can see it and it is still there i just cannot access it. please tell me how i can acess the game i have too much tio lose in. i had to start over again. this is unacceptable. i did nothing to reset the gamecenter . it did it on its own. backflip says my dragonvale data is in teh backup reserves. i need to know how to retrieve this./...........thank you please help me.i spent money on gems.................mili parks

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one.

I had to download FF as I had to do a reinstall for win 7. Now my old bar that had "file, to bookmarks"
Is gone and I want it back! Also I had some icons below my Google start window, gone now, in fact I cannot find Google or Yahoo in the upper right corner. Also I DO NOT want all the add-ons. Every time you guys upgrade it gets worse. Can you not have a download site just for old buggers like me??
