Who do i speak to about an issue with shockwave. it is running my cpu at 100%. when i play Zynga games on FB. don't remember giving permission for storage or cloud.

a couple of weeks ago i noticed a real slowdown when playing Zynga games on FB. opened task manager (XP) and saw plugin-container.exe running at 400,000+ k. ran search thru windows and found plugin-container for mozzila. checked and updated all plugins but issue persists. disabled each plugin seperately while playing, with task manager open and disabling shockwave was the only one that had effect on plugin running. unfortunately this also crashed the game. know its not your plugin but any advice or directions would be appreciated. ( my husband's solution is the simplest of course but i really enjoy my games!) Thanks for your time.

Since updating Firefox I have problems with playing Zynga games

since updating Firefox I have problems with the Zynga games I am playing. The functions often stop working so I have to reboot the game. Also there are often a lot of items missing on my screen so I can't play at all

I have this problem, as well, since the upgrade to 4.0.1. After the upgrade, I found several 'Recovered Files' in my Trash. On taking a look, they all had to do with the Crowdstar app. Happy Aquarium, I believe, but there are several folders of them. Some of them could have to do with Zynga's FarmVille.
However, after repeated problems, I installed Chrome 10. to see if the Facebook apps. would work. They did, without problems. That tells me the folders in Trash shouldn't have anything to do with whether they operate or not but it has something to do with something Firefox has done, or not done, with this upgrade. Frankly, I'm baffled and more than a little annoyed. :/
However, thinking back to the upgrade, it happened suddenly while I was on the phone with AppleCare on another matter. It was they who suggested I needed to upgrade my browser and I did it immediately, on-the-spot. It wasn't what you would call a 'clean install' because I was on the phone but also online with AppleCare. The process went so fast, I remember there were things about the installation that didn't quite seem right and I do remember that the earlier version of Firefox was not removed prior to the upgrade. Is there any chance something could be out-of whack because of this? If so, I need to know how to save my passwords, bookmarks, profile, and any other critical info that would need to be transferred.

How can I play Windows games that require CD on mac mini bootcamp?

So have a brandnew optical drive-less mac mini, and have Windows 7 installed as bootcamp partition. Want to play a game on the Windows side but it requires a CD be in the drive to play - which, obviously, I don't have. I tried Carbon Copy Cloner to a USB stick - it worked for the installation but not the game play. Any suggestions how I get an image to mount that the Windows Bootcamp will recognize? Is it possible to mount the CD as a shared disk on my G5 elsewhere on my network or should I just stick to Daemon Tools or MagicISO stuff on Windows. If the latter - how do I get the data from a USB stick mounted as a disk image then (do I need to copy it to the local, then create a disk image and then copy to that image for example?)
I can see this is going to be a problem for all sorts of other things I still have "legacy" I can see so any help on this will carry forward, thanks.

Yeah, I know, but the whole idea of moving away from disks isn't such a bad one - so I'm wondering if I can implement it someway - I have the original copy disks so it's not about pirating them to play games but ripping them the right way so they work... hmmm.

It sounds like you have downloaded a game from the App Store in iTunes. These Apps can only be run on iOS devices (iPhones, iPads, iPods) and you can check the App's specifications on the info page in the App Store to see which specific devices the developers have made the game for.

HT4314 How do I change the Game Center login name...I've has issues with getting GC to align my iPad game to the iPhone correctly.

I have been playing a game on the iPad (called D.S.F) & then wanted to link it to my iPhone with Game Center.
The problem is when it tried doing it...It asked me to choose a game name on the iPhone and I used the one I was using on the iPad but it didn't like as it said the name was taken.
So I set another name up and then thinking I could simply change the required name in DSF game settings to align the game but instead the game fully reset itself and I lost the existing game levels I was on the iPad.
After uninstalling the game on both devices & reloading them a few times, I established that when I turned off Game Center and reinstalled the game on the iPad then I got the game reloaded picking up from where I was initially.
The short of this blurb is that somehow I need to change the Game Center name for the game I'm playing so it links correctly and I'm not sure how to do that.
It's the name in Game Center that's linked to the iPhone new game that is the problem and it's the one I need to correct.
Any advice?

Type REGEDIT into the search
Select find under the edit tab
Type the exact name you wish to correct
correct every entry by clicking on the entry> and then clicking edit>select modify>then correct only the portion of the name you wish to correct> then click ok> go back to edit and click find next> repeat the process for each entry in the registry until the screen says finished>restart windows and plug in your ipad. How do you completely remove “Game Center” from an iPad? Disabling Game Center is a joke because even after you disable it, it continues to reappear frequently prior to your game and “Demands” your attention before it allows you to play your game, this is very annoying. Also, if you are off the grid (e.g.: OCONUS) with no connectivity and the “Game Center” pops up you are blocked from playing your game(s) entirely with no recourse to include being blocked from doing the Game Center multiscreen dance of Canceling and finally Disabling Game Center (yup, they have a button for it on one of the last popup screens But that button to Disable it is completely ineffective because Game Center will still reappear in a day or so). Kindly note that I play single player games like solitaire that should not require the Game Center and some apple tech agree. Apple support techs also have not been helpful with my “Case” number. And no, under the General Settings even when you switch off both Game Center toggles it still overrides them et al. I bought this iPad because it looked like something fun to do and it is BUT I ignored the warnings that it would be a socially invasive toy with a forced unalterable protocol; next time should I listen more closely? beyond that your only recourse is to look for games that are not game center games and only use those. The ability to disable game center was removed with iOS6 I believe. All you can do is block multiplayer games and game invites. Everything else is unalterable.

Sadly, it is not possible to play games downloaded for the iPod from iTunes on your computer. They can only be played on the 5th Gen iPods (iPod video's)

How can I play iPad games like Clash of Clans on my iMac or MBP

I have watched a bunch of videos on YouTube that allegedly state that by installing an application such as (but not limited to) XCode I can play iPad games on my Macs. I have not been able to get ANYTHING to work. Has Apple or any 3rd party ever came up with a way to play IOS games on OSX? Xcode specifically was stated in the videos as only being able to run on OSX 10.7 or later. Another video said that it requires 10.8.4 or later. I run 10.8.5. After the 30 minute download and install (big file) it told me that my OSX was not compatible with the application. I got Xcode from the App store.

Thank you xcfdanyboy; however, I already checked out this guys youtube video (blip.tv/simonvideo). The problem for me is I do not have a google account, and will never voluntarily give google any information about me that would be needed to secure a google account. I do not even visit youtube using the traditional internet (WWW). I have not and will never again trust google after they released their updated "privacy" policy on March 1 2011 (or 2012). I do not even their search engine any more (sadly because I loved it).

Nope, the 2nd suggestion also requires me to divulge info to google. Thank you again for both of your suggestions, they will just not work for me. I guess I may be relegated to playing on my Lady's game on her Ipad unless I buy my own Ipad some day. Although I really do not want to drop another $700+ for another Ipad simply so I can play a free game. Who knows.
