HT4356 Airprinting on epson xp600

This printer is supposed to be AirPrint ready but neither my iPad or iPhone recognize it as an AirPrint option.  What's the trick to getting it to work?

There are some troubleshooting steps here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Check using the panel on your computer to be sure you have the latest firmware on your printer and update it if necesssary.
Make sure the printer and iPad are connected to the same network.
Reset the iPad (hold down the home and sleep buttons, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons), the printer and your router.

I am having trouble printing to an Epson XP600.  We have replaced the printer and we are still having the same problem.  When I try to print from Excel, only the color prints.  Any suggestions?

Has anyone else had issues not being able to print black (such as a document)?  My photos print great, but when I try to print a simple black-ink document, it won't work. Any suggestions?

  • I have an epson xp600 and a mac book pro. Wireless printing is OK if I'm lucky for one time only then a 'failed to connect' message so I have to delete and re add the printer to get it working again (but just once!) then the same occurs. Why?

I am not certain this will fix your problem but I suggest you assign the printer a static IP address.
Using the printer's front panel, select Menu > Network > WLAN > TCP/IP > Boot method, and change it to "static". Provide a static IP address that is on your LAN's subnet.
For example, if you are using an AirPort Extreme, you might give it an IP address of 10.0.1.100. If you are using a Netgear or Linksys router that defaults to issuing 192.168.x.x addresses, you might give it an address of 192.168.1.100. That way, the printer will always "reside at the same address" on your network. If your router has the ability, you should reserve that address so that the router does not attempt to assign it to another DHCP device.
Then, go to System Preferences > Print & Scan, and delete your existing printer with the "–" (minus) button. Add it again, using the "+" (plus) button. In the window that appears, select the IP pane, and from the Protocol menu select "Line Printer Daemon (LPD)". In the Address field type the IP address you gave your printer.
If all goes well the "Pring Using" field will detect the printer at that address and automatically select the appropriate driver. You will see something similar to the following screenshot ("name" can be whatever you decide, and "location" is optional):
Click Add, then you can close System Preferences.
There are other possible reasons your printer is "not responding" which could include wireless interference from competing wireless networks, but try this "static IP" method first. It should mitigate the problem.

  • HT4356 My printer, Epson Stylus Office TX600FW, is not listed on the AirPrint. How to add it? Would Apple expand the list?

My printer, Epson Stylus Office TX600FW, is not listed on the AirPrint. I can't find it on my iPad or iPhone. How to add it? Would Apple expand the list?

Only the printer manufacturer can make it compatible with AirPrint, it's not up to Apple. You could try Epson's iPrint app, that claims to support that model :

  • HT4356 Problems Airprinting to Epson Workforce 4020 from IPad2

Airprinting to a brand new Epson Workforce 4020 inkjet printer from my IPhone4 works great, but from the IPad2 I get a 'out of paper error' message displayed on the IPad screen and the 'out of paper' light turns on at the printer - all devices have the latest firmware/OS and there is plenty of paper and ink in the printer.  The Epson iPrint app on the IPad2 works fine.  The printer is advertised as airprint compatible.  Printing prior to and after the error message from PC's or other devices works fine.
Any suggestions for troubleshooting?  Below are snaps from the IPad showing the print-related services -

Region settings are identical on the iPhone4 and the iPad2
With the same webpage (I used the classic Google page), both the iPhone4 and the iPad2 print fine from Safari.
With the same picture, I get the 'printer out of paper' error message on both the iPhone4 and the iPad2 when printing from Photos.
It now looks like a limitation of airprint and/or the Epson printer at this point since both IOS devices give the same behavior.  I guess I'm stuck with third party solutions for most printing (e.g. iPrint from Epson) ?

  • How to AirPrint with epson we 4530

I can print using the epson controller for printing but cannot seem to connect directly using AirPrint.

That does not appear to be an AirPrint compatible printer: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356. You can either keep using the epson controller or an application like Printopia or Print N Share.

  • Airprint with epson

I have an epson stylus tx610fw how can I use airprint on my ipad4 with this printer

The reason you can't is because the Epson printer you own is not Air Print Enabled (see the list in the attached link):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
You can either buy a new printer (the 430 is Air Print ready), or you can buy a printing app in the App Store for about $9, such as Printopia or Print Central, which both work well.

  • Printing Photos with AirPrint to Epson Px730Wd produces white edge

    All,
I have just bought a new Epson PX730WD and have a small problem when printing photos via AirPrint.  I always get a 3mm white edge on the right hand side of my photos.  Printing the same photo from Epson iPrint app works fine and it works from my PC as well, but using AirPrint via the native photo app always produces this white edge. Very annoying as I prefer to use the native functions when available, but cannot be doing with this edge.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Chris

I have contacted Epson Support and they told me to try the iPrint app which I did and it worked fine.  So the problem seems to lie somewhere between airprint and the printer recognising what is being sent via airprint.  I can't find an Epson forum where these type of issues are discussed.  I was hoping someone else may have an tried airprint with a PX730wd to see what results they get.

  • HT4356 AirPrint Support in the Printer Side (Request for Official Procedure/Steps)

*I selected the iPhone community (but this is for Apple's AirPrint Support in general)
We are currently considering to add support for AirPrint
    in our printer-side development.
Does anyone know how can receive official information from Apple regarding
the required procedure/steps to correctly support
    AirPrint in the printer side?
We are expecting that such steps would also contain details
on how our printers can become listed later on
in the following Apple page containing the official AirPrint printers:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356
We understand that Apple may need to conduct
some conformance tests in order to consider
that our printer has already officially supported AirPrint,
so we may need to consider such also in our schedule.

The round button at the bottom of the iPad's front is your Home button.  The Sleep button is on the top edge near the right corner.
Normally the Sleep button just puts the iPad to sleep but does not acgtually turn it off.  If you used the "Slide to power off" arrow and turned it off, you will need to hold the Sleep button for several seconds until the Apple logo appears, in order to turn the iPad back on.
I wonder if you did the reset the right way, but just did not hold both buttons long enough for the Apple logo to appear?  I just tried it on my iPad 2, and it took 17 seconds before the Apple logo appeared.  It took another couple of minutes for it to restart to the "slide to unlock" screen.

  • AirPrint to Epson WorkForce 545

I have a Epson WorkForce 545 that supports AirPrint.  While initially I had no problem with any of my Apple devices printing to it via AirPrint, I now have a recurrent problem of them sporatically "not seeing" the printer at all.  If the printers is in sleep  mode, I have to turn it off and on before my devices can discover it.  I downloaded the latest driver for it and it seemed to work, for a while, now it is back to not printing.  Very frustrating.

    Verify that the printer:
Has power and is turned on. If it has power, turn the printer off and then on again to see if that resolves the issue.
Is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device.
Has the latest firmware version installed.
Has paper with enough ink or toner installed.
Is free of any errors displayed on the printer's control panel.
If necessary, consult the printer documentation or contact the printer vendor for help with the above steps.

printing to a non-airprinter from an iPad
To print from the iPad, your going to have to install some more software:
-- install a printer app on the ipad. many printer makers have iPad applications for their printers.  Look in the app store
-- install enabling software on a computer which you have connected the printer

  • HT4356 AirPrint on 3G

I am using my new iPad on a 3G network (Verizon).  Do I need to be on a "wifi" network to use AirPrint?  Can I link to my Epson printer on the 3G network?
    Thanks!

unless your network setup allow you to expose your printer freely on the internet for all to print to then it's only
    on wifi
getting it on the internet requrie a lot of setup in terms of ports being opened in your router and in some cases from your internet service provider too some providers charge for the whole static ip setup too

  • HT4356 AirPrint

Can I use my Iphone hotspot as a router for Airprint to support printing from my Macbook Pro and Ipad?

I don't think Airprint acts as a print server, but it would be interesting to know the results if you try.
However, as a hotspot, I think it is just a router, so as mentioned, it may work if you can connect the printer to the hotspot network.
