HT4356 Can I print a pdf document on my iPhone to a bluetooth printer that is not AirPrint capable

I have the HP OfficeJet 100 portable printer with Bluetooth and it is NOT a model with AirPrint. From what I've found, I should be able to print a docuement using my iPhone but would need some print software. I cannot figure out what software they're talking about and cannot find anything on the HP or Apple sites.

bluetooth is just an usb cable just wireless
a driver is still required to print on a bluetooth printer
ios don't have drivers in that respect and can't of cause ever ever use windows or osx drivers
there are 2 options you have
1. if hp's free printing app in app store (assuming they have one) can do it
2. if you install netgear genie in a computer it will make all printers the computer have access to become airprint printers in the eyes of IOS of cause the computer have to be turned on when you print
even though it's netgear who make the app one is not required to use a netgear router or the likes

  • Is there a way to print from pages to a wireless printer that is not AirPrint capable. I have a HP C4580

    I have a HP C4580 wireless printer. It is not AirPrint capable. I now do all my work on iPad via pages. I have an HP App HP home and biz, it finds my printer no problems and allows me to print photos with ease. However pages still cannot find a printer. Any thoughts?

    I had a related problem, now solved.  But this discussion is relevant to me.  Is there a difference between ePrint and ePrint for Home and Biz?  On my iPad, I installed what I believe is just ePrint  -- got it from Apple Apps or iTunes store -- was free. I am able to print on my HP Photosmart 6180 using that app.  Is there a "better" HP app that should have on my iPad?  And how can I find out just what i have (including the version).  ePrint is not listed with other the apps on my iPad "settings" page.

  • Just installed Firefox 4.....now cannot print a pdf document in FF 4 using either file-print or the printer icon. However, I can print by right click on pdf page and selecting print form drop down. Was printing fine with FF 3.X

    using adobe 9.x would not print. Then loaded Adobe Reader 10.x still would not print. Can print Adobe images just fine outside of FF4.x I am about ready to remove FF4 and go back to FF3.x.
    Has anyone else had this problem.
    Am running Win Xp with all current updates.

    I had the same issue and my of my friends.
    The fix is easy. You need to remove and re-add your printers.
    Do this by going to the Applications folder Utilities folder and opening up Printer Setup Utility
    Then click on the printers you see click remove and add them again.
    If its a network printer, I would write down the IP address. Otherwise you have to figure out what it is.
    Cheers

  • Why can't I print a PDF document?

    when trying to print a PDF document I get the error message " unable to print document".  Sometimes also includes  "No pages  are selected''.
    I'm using an HP laptop and OS Windows 7.
    I have tried selecting all document,and printing it as image,  I have checked that there are no security locks on the document. I have been through the forum several times searching for answers and still I cannot print a PDF.
    Advice please on what other steps I can take.

    Pat Willener,
    Many thanks for the helpful suggestions. . Sean Mitchell's suggestion of
    repairing Adobe reader via the help menu did the trick. I have been able to
    print several PDF documents after following his suggestion.
    Very many thanks for the assistance

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro do not open when printing a pdf document. Can anyone help?

    Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro do not open when printing a pdf document, instead I open it with Adobe Reader X to be able to print.
    Can anyone help?

    Hi Edna,
    It sounds like Adobe Reader X is your default PDF file handler. Launch Adobe Reader X.  Choose Edit > Preferences > General.  Click the 'Select Default PDF Handler' button at the bottom and choose Acrobat 9 from the drop-down menu.  Click Apply, then OK.
    Restart your computer.  Acrobat 9 should now be your default PDF file handler again.

  • How can I print a PDF document?

    How can I print a PDF document?

    That states that the PDF touch app doesnt support printing which is a technically true as it doesnt have a button/option to print from the app but doing a crtl-p (this is on a full PC version of win8 not RT) brings up the print dialogue and its prints fine.

  • How can I print a PDF document in OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion?

    I just upgraded to OSX 10.6.3 and now 10.8 Mountain Lion.  I am extremely disappointed that I can no longer print (to my printer) ANY PDF documents either through Adobe or straight from a website.  Is there a way to deactivate the security feature that is blocking this?  I also own the newest version of Parallels (desktop 7) and cannot print through Windows either.  It's beyond annoying.  Thank you!
    Matt

    I can print (such as e-mails, driving directions, etc), but nothing that is related to Adobe or PDF.  I have a Dell 1710 printer that is connected to my airport extreme wirelessly.  The printer has always worked on my I-mac since I bought it in 2007.  It stopped printing PDFs ont he Mac when Adobe was upgraded about a year ago.  I was then able to print through Adobe in Parallels/Windows.  Since the new OSX 10.6 and 10.8 came out, nothing prints through Adobe in either place.  I hope that helps.

    how can i correct the problem?

    What is your operating system?  What is your Adobe Reader version?  Only one document, or any?  Local or online documents?  If online, in what browser?
    Finally, what exactly means "can't"?

  • When printing in Excel It is always want to use the acrobat X pro trial, which the trial is expired. I do not want to use acrobat X pro trial anymore. How can I reset it and use simple acrobat to print my PDF document?

    When printing in Excel It is always want to use the acrobat X pro trial, which the trial is expired. I do not want to use acrobat X pro trial anymore. How can I reset it and use simple acrobat to print my PDF document?

    Hi screen name,
    Adobe PDF printer gets installed when you install Acrobat 10 Pro.
    To use this printer you need to purchase Acrobat. Once the trial period is over you cannot use the printer to create pdf files.
    An alternative way for you is to utilize Microsoft's own inbuilt pdf engine.
    You can simply open the file and select 'Save as' and in the type list select 'pdf'

  • How can I silently print all PDF documents that are opened automatically?

    For a special terminal PC I want to print all PDF's that are opened to be printed automatically and without user interaction. The PDF is loaded in an iFrame in the browser, this PDF then needs to be printed.
    I don't want to modify the PDF's, the PDF's are supplied by another resource.
    I was thinking about using a folder level script that prints each PDF document automatically as soon as it is opened, but I don't know how to accomplish this.

    Macropanther wrote:
    I don't think the installation process will allow that unless the printer is connected.
    Incorrect. Win or Mac, you can install a printer driver w/o the printer being connected.
    I have tried MS PowerPoint (which can't seem to accept paper wider than 56 inches) and have  used NeoOffice Draw
    You're using the wrong tools. PP shouldn't even be in consideration; I don't know about NeoOffice, but I tried its cousin LibreOffice, and it has issues with custom paper sizes; which is not surprising, given what these apps were designed for.
    What you need for actual banners (not web page banners) is a vector drawing tool or a DTP app. I'd say Illustrator or InDesign, but Adobe CS is expensive, and, if you're thinking of PowerPoint for this job, you're not ready for it.
    You can try Pages; although not quite DTP, it can do the job and it's inexpensive. There are other options, such as Swift Publisher (a DTP app) or Intaglio (a drawing app) -- both are more expensive than Pages, but still affordable; or you can go open source with Scribus (DTP) or InkScape (vector; requires X11). You already know the ups and downs of using open source. (These are just examples; you can find others if you look for them.)
    Although it's better to have Kinko's printer driver, to make sure of the correct options, you don't actually need it to print to PDF. You should be able to define a custom page size (eg, 12in × 72in) and create the PDF from it. Any app which uses the Mac OS X standard print function should be able to do it.

  • Printing Multiple PDF documents on the fly

    Hello all,
    I am looking for a solution for printing the documents to a PDF file. My requirement is that from the application, I can select a set of documents (say 50 numbers) and give for print. The program is in MS access. The MS access opens the report required for generating the documents, pulls the data from the database and generated the document. this will in turn go to a default printer set on the application server. The program repeats for all the 50 dcouments and prints each of them in paper.
    All I need know is instaed of printing, all the documents should get mergerd to a single PDF file. Once all the documents are merged I can give it an appropritae name and save it.
    Do let us know this is possible by installing a PDF printer driver from adobe on the application server. Will it automatically convert all the prints given at one go to a PDF file or any change in code is required to do it.
    Regards
    Cherian

    FYI, when you use the Adobe PDF Print driver that comes with Acrobat, the PDF Producer won't say "Adobe PDF Converter".
    When using the Adobe PDF Print driver, you should see:
    Application: Pscript5.dll 5.x.x
    PDF Producer: Acrobat Distiller X.x.x
    If your document says "Adobe PDF Converter" then it was created by 3rd party software, most likely this package:
    http://www.clicktoconvert.com/pages/adobe_pdf_converter/index.htm
    That is NOT Adobe software.  Please clarify what version of Reader/Acrobat you are using so that we can properly help you.  If you need help with your 3rd party PDF print driver, you should contact the company that developed it.

  • Printing a pdf document created in Acrobat Pro 9.0

    Solved the problem of printing a pdf document created using Acrobat Pro 9.0 with SL - tried many different things form adobe etc and by accident discovered while in Acrobat you have to select ADVANCED in Print then click onto SAVE AS IMAGE in next box and then OK and all prints as it should. Just thought others may want to know this if they have had problems 1

    I'm reviewing your post and while I see a fix, I can't locate the problem that you may have originally posted. Since I'm having issues, I'm hoping your's were the same.
    Sometimes when I print an Adobe Acrobat 9.0 document, most of the printed word fail to print out (although they are in the PDF document). Almost all graphical elements print and the occasional line of text--but most text is missing. Was ti your issue?
    Thanks.

  • Unable to print a pdf document

    I have an HP Officejet 4315 All-in-One Printer and have been unable to print an pdf document.  I have Adobe X installed.
    How can I get the print to work on pdf documents?

    How are you trying to print to pdf?
    Don't go via PostScript or Acrobat Distiller, which are old deprecated technology.
    You use:
    Menu > File > Print > PDF (button bottom left) > Save as PDF…

  • Printing a PDF document using Java 1.4 Printing API

    Hi,
    When I tried to print a PDF document using JAVA 1.4 Printing API, I got the following exception.
    Exception in thread "main" sun.print.PrintJobFlavorException: invalid flavor
    at sun.print.Win32PrintJob.print(Win32PrintJob.java:290)
    at Printing.main(Printing.java:40)
    I am able to print the same PDF document using Acrobat reader.
    Is PDF format not supported in JAVA 1.4 printing API? or is something wrong in my code?
    here is the sample JAVA program that I was using
    import javax.print.*;
    import javax.print.attribute.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class Printing {
    public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception {
    String filename = args[0];

    DocFlavor flavor = DocFlavor.INPUT_STREAM.PDF;
    PrintService defaultService =
    PrintServiceLookup.lookupDefaultPrintService();
    DocPrintJob job = defaultService.createPrintJob();
    FileInputStream fis = new FileInputStream(filename);
    DocAttributeSet das = new HashDocAttributeSet();
    Doc doc = new SimpleDoc(fis, flavor, das);
    job.print(doc, pras);
    Thread.sleep(10000);
    System.exit(0);
    Thank you

    Here's a pure Java solution (that works!):
    http://www.mycgiserver.com/~zhouwu/pdf/readme.html
    The caveats are:
    - prints only to the default printer
    - requires a properties file located in the home directory
    my workaround for the last:
         * Print a PDF file to the default printer (might consume lots of memory!).
         * <p>
         * <b>Required:</b>
         * <ul>
         * <li>a file "acrobat.properties" needs to be in the working directory. The content is:
    <table align="center" bgcolor="#E0E0E0" border=1 cellpadding="10" cellspacing="0"><tr><td><pre style="margin-top:0; margin-bottom:0">
    #com.adobe.acrobat.Viewer Properties

    </pre></td></tr></table>
         * <li>The JAR files PDFPrinter.jar, acrobat.jar and MRJToolkitStubs.zip in the CLASSPATH.
         * </ul>
         * <p>
         * Note: the file "acrobat.properties" is expected to be in the user's home directory. As this is not always feasible,
         * the system property "user.home" is mapped to "user.dir" for the time of execution.
         * @param fileName Name of PDF file to print.
         * @throws Exception on error.
         * @see <a href="http://www.mycgiserver.com/~zhouwu/pdf/readme.html">PDF Server (Silent) Printing</a>

            PDFPrinter vi = new PDFPrinter();
            vi.activate();
            vi.setDocumentInputStream(new FileInputStream(fileName));
            vi.printAll();
            System.setProperty("user.home", oldHome);
        }//printPDF()I just need the following additional files in my CLASSPATH: PDFPrinter.jar, acrobat.jar and MRJToolkitStubs.zip. Despite the note at the site above that "printing quality is not very good", i can't agree: the print quality is quite good. Not perfect, but acceptable for most uses.

  • "AcroRd32.exe  /t" print a PDF document ( print only, no need to open )

    I'm using the following command to print a PDF document:
    "D:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /t "D:\R104-20071025165656.pdf" "\\192.168.0.4\hp" "hp LaserJet 1000" "\\192.168.0.4\hp"
    Now it works fine! But I have more request:
    I want a command that only send the file to printer and no need to open the PDF file on local system.
    So anybody can help me?
    Thanks in advance!

    Dear Pedja,
    My program is a desktop application, no a web application. It's not the same as you. And hope the following codes can help you :)
    private void exportReportToPrinter(JasperPrint jasperPrint,int copyNum, String printerName, MediaSizeName mediaSizeName) throws Exception
    // create the print service exporter so that we can print to a named
    // printer
    JRPrintServiceExporter exporter = new JRPrintServiceExporter();
    // set the report to print
    exporter.setParameter(JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.JASPER_PRINT, jasperPrint);
    // tell the exporter to print 1 copy on A4 paper
    PrintRequestAttributeSet aset = new HashPrintRequestAttributeSet();
    aset.add(new Copies(copyNum));
    aset.add(mediaSizeName);
    exporter.setParameter(JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.PRINT_REQUEST_ATTRIBUTE_SET, aset);
    // let the exporter know which printer we want to print on
    PrintServiceAttributeSet serviceAttributeSet = new HashPrintServiceAttributeSet();
    serviceAttributeSet.add(new PrinterName(printerName, null));
    exporter.setParameter(JRPrintServiceExporterParameter.PRINT_SERVICE_ATTRIBUTE_SET, serviceAttributeSet);
    // print it
    exporter.exportReport();
