  • HT3500 i have a mac pro and have connected to my wireless canon printer. I was able to print but now the printer comes up with the paper in the tray is the wrong size. but the paper is A4. does any one know what is wrong.

I have connected to my wireless canon printer but it wont let me print from my mac pro. printer comes up with the message that the paper size doesnt match the printer settings. I have tried to change the settings on the printer but that didnt work. can anyone help

Well... no help was found here.. so I abandoned the wireless- ness of my printer.  I bought a
small 10 port hub because only 2 USB ports really isn't enough with wireless mouse, wireless internet
and any kind of printer.   I also bought a long USB cable.  I now print--wired since this can be done
as an alternative to wireless with this printer.   Because I don't want a cable "hanging around"
when the printer is not in use, I simple disconnect it and reconnect when I want to print.
It's a temporary solution others may find helpful as well. Apparently there's been a lot of
confusion and problems getting this printer set up wirelessly with our MacBooks.
Shame on HP for not helping us out!

Investigate the Air Display App to see if it will do the job for you.

basically... I had an ipod touch sync'd to my dads i tunes.. i then got an iphone and created my own apple id.. how could i transfer the media from my ipod which was used on a different apple id onto my own account without everything deleting

Syncing an iDevice to a computer does not remove content from the computer.
Syncing an iDevice to a computer that it does not normally sync with will remove the content from that device.
If the media was acquired with a different Apple ID it is in no way linked to your Apple ID.

No, there isn't, but if there's a store which sells Macs nearby, you may be able to try it out there.

  • HT3867 even though I am connected to my home wi-fi, it is also using 3G!! which is using up all my data

even though I am connected to my home wi-fi, it is also using 3G which is using up all my data!  What do I do??

Like Ann said, turn off Mobile data.  Go to Settings, Mobile Networks, and disable mobile data.  You'll get a warning about connecting to wifi to do email, and browse, etc, but that's the whole point - you want to use the wifi, not your mobile data.

  • How to connect non-Apple wireless networks?

    Hello
Before I start, I know very little about networking, so could do with some assistance please!
In my office, I have a MacPro, fitted with an airport extreme. I also have a TL-WR1043ND Wireless N Gigabit Router, which I have connected to a ReadyNas NV+.
In my house, I use my MacBook Pro connected wirelessly. The internet is accessed via a TP-Link TD-W8961ND 300Mbps Wireless N ADSL2+ Modem Router.
Both the MacPro and the MacBook Pro connect to the internet cia the TD-W8961ND. The TL-WR1043ND resides on a separate wireless network. The idea is that I can access and store data wirelessly using the ReadyNas (which incidentally has become an issue since upgrading to Lion).
The NAS needs to be kept in my office so it is secure and there is no direct telephone link to the office.
Cutting a long story short, I'd like to make the two networks into one, so I was wondering if I could use the TL-WR1043ND as some sort of wireless access point (connected to the NAS) and joining it to the wireless network of the W8961 ADSL2 router.
I don't know how to do this, so was wondering if somebody could help and perhaps guide me through some of the settings? I've searched the interweb abyss, without any joy.
    All the best
    Hoffmeister

As you can imagine, this forum is primarily for assistance with Apple networking so it may be a bit difficult to really be able to provide you with a step-by-step on how to configure both of these routers for Wireless Distribution System (WDS).
I did a bit of research and found the following TP-Link Support article that describes how to do this with a pair of their TD-W8960N routers and it may be worth reviewing to see if it can help you with yours.

Not sure of the specifics of your network/computers, I use Airprint Activator on my Mac which offers up any installed printer on the network as an 'Airprint' printer which iphones/ipads can see.

I'm not sure if a PC solution exists for this.

  • How to connect a E1200 wireless router to a machine tool network for wireless communications

Hello all, I am new to the forum, hope someone can help me out. I am wanting to connect my E1200 wireless router to a machine tool in our factory that has programmable controllers and is connected to the machine components via ethernet connections. This is so we can troubleshoot the machine without having a wired laptop. We have several ethernet switches on the machine and a range of IP addresses say from 192.16.1.1 through 192.16.1.150, and 192.16.17.1 through 192.16.17.150, all of the addresses are not used but random addresses in the range. I would like to be able to connect my E1200 to either one of the networks without having to make a change in the router setup. I can make it work on either network but when I switch my cable to the other network it has to be reconfigured. I am currently connecting my data cable to a ethernet port on the router and changing my router address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.16.1.1 and selecting a range of 150 so it will assign numbers as needed. This works great until I change to the other network and I have to change my router address to 192.16.17.1, I know this can be done on some routers because the technicians from the machine builder use them when working on the machines. thanks

On the basic setup tab make the changes shown below:
This basically make the router disappear off the existing networks and turns it into a wireless AP.
Then when you set your laptop's wireless adapter to whatever IP network you want to connect to.
If you need to connect to your router again change the laptop's adapter IP to something like 192.168.200.2
Keep in mind nothing ever gets plugged into the Internet Port on the router.
What I do with these manufacturing machine's is put them on the company network with static IP's. Then so operators can transfer programs and view drawings I place ELO touchscreens at each location. For the Laser cutter operators that do nesting they have a desktop workstation for the CAD software and put the nests on a network share or direct to the laser cutters.
Please remember to Kudo those that help you.

  • How to connect Time Capsule wirelessly (without hard wire connection)

Okay, so just bought a Time Capsule, and in the process of setting it up, I am being told by Airport Utility that I need to hardwire the TC to my wireless router in order for it create a network.....
My question:  Is there anyway around this?  Is there anyway I can create an extended WiFi connection thru the TC without hardwiring?   I have a wifi extender (NetGear universal wifi range extender WGN3000) and was hoping that TC would connect to it and act as a second extender relay.
I hope my question is clear.
Also, is my understanding correct that if the TC is not hardwired, and it does not possess a wireless connection, then in order to backup my computer, I must connect to the basestation in Airport, and during that time I will be unable to use the internet??
    THanks!!

We always say to people do the first backup by ethernet anyway.. wireless takes far too long.. once you are just doing incremental then it is ok by wireless.
But wireless halves in speed for every hop.. so make sure there is only ever one wireless link between the TC and the computer if at all possible. If you join it by wireless to the network.. you will have no gain.. and lots of pain.. plus half what are already poor speeds.. so you may as well just connect to the router by ethernet.. and bridge the TC.. you can then also setup wireless .. particularly 5ghz which the rest of your network probably doesn't use so you have a faster than normal link both to internet and TC for backup.. when you are in the same room.. link at 5ghz gives great speed and poor range.. go more than one room away and it will generally fall away to nothing.

  • HT4356 How to connect Kodak printer

I do not know how to connect my Kodak printer to my iPhone 4s? I connected it easily to my android phone, but have had no luck with the iPhone.

It was possible because you directly connected the android phone to the USB port. Try to see if that Kodak printer has wifi capabilities.
