HT4356 I'm having trouble printing wireless from my iPad.

I was able to do the test print and I haven't been able to print anything since. My iPad says it's not able to find the printer. It's an HP Deskjet.

interesting, check your settings first and make sure cables are connected properly (I know it sound obvious!) then try an app like hp eprint or print n share

Have you tried restarting the printer? Reboot the iPad as well.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

  • HT5569 How can I print wireless from my iPad 4

    Hi everyone!...
How can I print wireless from my iPad 4?
Your answer will be most appreciated.
    Thank u s. M.

See requirements for AirPrint and printers that support AirPrint here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If your printer supports AirPrint but does not work then:
Your printer might need a firmware update
Your printer must be on the same WiFi network
Your router must support Bonjour (Zero-configuration networking).
    For troubleshooting:
Turn Off iPad, WiFi router (remove from power), and Printer (remove from power).
    Turn on WiFi router
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on printer
    Wait 30 seconds
    Turn on iPad
    Try to print.
If you need more help then what printer do you have?

  • I have a Lexmark s405 printer and I've just updated the firmware and still can't print wirelessly from my iPad. Why?

I have a Lexmark s405 printer and I've just updated the firmware and still can't print wirelessly from my iPad. Why?

That model doesn't appear to support AirPrint (those that do are listed on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4356)
Have you checked to see if Lexmark have their own app in the store, or there are third-party apps such as Print Central For iPad and Print n Share which might work with it

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 All in One printer - printing wirelessly from an IPAD

I'm trying to connect a HP Officejet Pro 8600 to our university campus wireless network for the purposes of printing wirelessly from an IPAD.  The printer finds the wireless network when going through wireless wizard setup but gets a message that the wireless network is using security that is not supported.
    The campus wireless network uses:
    Security type: WPA2-Enterprise
    Encryption type: AES
Can anyone tell me if these are supported by this model printer?

    Hey ibebry,
The printer is designed to be used with WPA2 - Personal and not the Enterprise version.  From the wiki artricle on WPA encryption:
WPA-Personal Also referred to as WPA-PSK (Pre-shared key) mode, it is designed for home and small office networks and doesn't require an authentication server. Each wireless network device authenticates with the access point using the same 256-bit key generated from a password or passphrase.
WPA-Enterprise Also referred to as WPA-802.1X mode, and sometimes just WPA (as opposed to WPA-PSK). It is designed for enterprise networks and requires a RADIUS authentication server. This requires a more complicated setup, but provides additional security (e.g. protection against dictionary attacks on short passwords). An Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) is used for authentication, which comes in different flavors.
If the network is using WPA-Enterprise, then most likely the 8600 will not be able to connect.  Hope this helps.

  • Printing wirelessly from my iPad

    Hello!
I have plugged my printer into my time capsule so that I can print from my laptops wirelessly. Why can I not print wirelessly from my iPad?
Can this be set up or done?

iOS devices can only print directly to AirPrint printers. The Samsung SCX-4300 is not an AirPrint printer.
To print directly from an iPad / iPhone you will need an AirPrint compatible printer or another device to act as a print server. That can be a Mac computer running Printopia ($19.95 with free trial) or handyPrint (donation - supported). The Mac must be "on" but may be asleep for them to work. Equivalent PC options may exist but you're on your own finding them.
You can also buy this standalone print server:
    http://www.lantronix.com/it-management/xprintserver/xprintserver.html
The xPrintServer Home Edition will support a directly connected USB printer. The Network Edition will support any network printer.
These options enable you to use any printer available to your Mac, even older ones that may predate AirPrint by decades.
Otherwise you will need to buy an AirPrint printer or multifunction device.

  • How do I print wirelessly from an iPad to an HP 6500 wireless printer (it does not support AirPrint )

How do I print wirelessly from an iPad to an HP6500 wireless printer? It does not support AirPrint

HP offers an app in the App Store that may work with that printer.

If not, post back and include the operating system version on your computer and we'll go from there.

  • I am having trouble printing photos of my iPad can you advise me how to set this up as my printer keeps saying can't find computer

I am having trouble printing off photos from my iPad can you please advise me the best way to do this, thank you

Does your printer support AirPrint - the models that support it, and some troubleshooting for it, is on this page. If it's not an AirPrint printer then does the printer manufacturer have their own app in the store that you can use, or there are third-party printer apps such as Print Central For iPad and Print n Share which might work.

  • How can I print wirelessly from my ipad mini to a non-AirPrint network printer?

Does anyone know of a work around to print wirelessly from ipad mini or any apple wireless devices to a network printer that is NOT Airprint ready?  I have a trial of Printopia installed on my desktop connected to the network and it seems to work BUT the desktop has to be awake or on for this to work.  My wireless router is a new ASUS N66U with supported usb port for printers which my printer is connected to.  My PC laptop is able to see the printer but the ipad mini and iphone 5 cannot.  I could return the router and exchange for Apple Airport wireless router if I know it would make a difference.  Thanks.

    Hi,
According to the printer specs, your printer has no wireless connectivity and is not airrprint enabled so unfortunately you won't be able to print from your ipad.
you'll find the list of HP web enabled printers here.

  • Can no longer print wirelessly from my IPad

have a hp photosmart 6510  Airprint wireless printer; have pc, laptop, and IPAD connected to it; all have been working great until a few days ago when Ipad  began to not print.
now when i click the print button on my IPad one of two things happen. 1) screen says "contacting printer" or 2) the small print box just disappears in both cases however nothing gets printed. Network is fine and web access is fine; configuration shows no problem; no problem printing wirelessly from pc and laptop computers.  have unplugged router and modem, have also verified that blue tooth is off in IPad. what to do; any help would be appreciated

You unplugged the router and modem -- that's good.  Now try resetting your iPad.
Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

  • Having trouble printing pdf from Safari

I'm new to Mac, so I'm hoping there is just some secret place I don't know about to adjust these settings.
Here's the issue: I am trying to print a pdf certificate (full page with a thin border on it) from Safari. When printed, the page is offset to the right and down, like there is some sort of default page margins set up in the browser.
What I've tried: There is no "page setup" option in the "file" menu. In the print menus (the ones that appear when you click the arrow next to the printer dialogue box), I have tried selecting a borderless paper, printing borderless pages (with the sliding bar at both ends of the spectrum), changing the orientation, changing the zoom, and creating a custom paper with custom margins.
No matter what I do, the page still prints out with a sizable margin on the top and left, the certificate border is right at the edge of the page on the right, and off the page on the bottom. This also happens when I print the page from Safari to a pdf, so it's not the printer.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
Don't rely on an HP updater to work. They don't quite understand a Mac mentality.
You can find the latest HP driver for your printer here.
Yes, a faulty printer driver will affect Safari's printing.
After you install the driver, "repair permissions" using Disk Utility found in your Finder's Applications>Utilities folder.
