How can I upload movies from Sony pj580v camcorder to use with imovie 11?

Transfer it to your computer and import into iTunes, make sure it's in a compatible format. Then simply sync with the iPad. If you have a camera connection kit and you know the footage is compatible you can connect it directly.

Import it into an iTunes library and then sync the iPod with that library. If desired, create a new library on that drive by launching iTunes with the Shift(Windows) or Option(Mac OS X) key held down.

Both atv,s are on the same network, they are wirless and the computer can see them and they are named different.
what ever one i switch on first gets to stream from my computer and the other one asks for home sharing to be switched on, then if i switch both off and start the other one first it gets to stream and the other one which worked asks for home sharing to be turned on. i have hidden all functionality, netflix etc as these are for my 7yr old kids.

  • Stream movies from my computer using home share to apple TV (gen 3) is using up my internet down load allowance?

I have been using Apple TV (gen 3) to stream movies from my computer using Home Share but found my internet down load increased, I have read online forums which all say they don't think the home sharing uses your internet down load but when I played a movie then paused and unplugged my cable from my router I was unable to continue streaming the movies which tells me I am using internet down load. Can I use my Apple TV to stream already downloaded and saved movies from my computer to Apple TV without using the internet?

Sorry diesel, to amswer your question: I am selecting "Computers" from the ATV which inturn streams the movies from the iTunes on my computer.
If I unplug my internet cable from the router I am unable to continue streaming the movie? this tells me that it is using my ISP internet to stream, I have checked all my settings but can't see anywhere that would make it stream direct from my router to ATV.
    Just can't work it out???

  • How can I watch movies from my itunes account on my PC

I was just wondering if it was possible to watch the shows I  bought through itunes on my PC? It has

If the films are on your computer's iTunes then connect your iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of iTunes under 'Devices' - and you should then be able to use the Films/Movies tab on the right-hand side to select which of the films to sync to the Videos app on the iPad

  • How Do I Watch Movies From IPOD Video On My TV?

I have some movies on my ipod & i wanna hook it up to my projector to watch on the screen. The Projector has the Audio/Video Plugs, so whats some ways i can do this and what will i need to buy?
    thx!

Well, pretty much all you need is an A/V cable. It's a cable that has what looks like a headphones jack at one end (except that it has 4 connectors instead of 3) and RCA cables at the other end (with the red, white, and yellow jacks). Sometimes this type of cable is called a camcorder cable. Here's a picture of one at The Source: http://www.thesourcecc.com/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&cat egory=CamcorderAccessories&product=1508373
Plug the headphones jack end into the iPod and the RCA jacks into the TV (yellow is video, red is right audio, and white is left audio). Then if you want to watch a movie or photos on the TV, go into the settings for either one of those and where it says TV Out, either set that to Ask or On. I always have it on Ask because then what it does is asks each time before I view a photo/video if I want to output to the TV or not. But, you will only see something on the TV if you are watching a photo/video; you will never see the menus etc on the TV.

Apple TV 2; You can use AirPlay, start the movie on the iPad, tap the AirPlay icon in the control bar and select the Apple TV.
Apple TV 1 & 2, connect the iPad to the iTunes library on your computer and sync the movie back to iTunes, then select it from your home library on the Apple TV.

how can I transfer movies from the apple tv to the ituenes, to watch in the ipad?

Is this a rental or a purchase?
Rentals on ATV cannot be transferred.
The 2nd and 3rd gen model do not have accessible storage. Some movie purchases are stored in iCloud (if you live in the US) where you can reload in iTunes on your computer)
If you own the 1st gen aluminum model then it should be set to sync

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I find it hard to believe that this information isn't clearly available somewhere, but it isn't and I don't think I've seen anyone here who is 100% sure. However, I believe you can have up to 10 associated devices, which include authorised computers (of which you can have up to 5), I suspect the Apple TV might become a temporary associated device while it's in use, but I'm not entirely sure myself.
