HT4381 how do i find out what software it is without pluging it in?

how do i find out what software is not this Apple tv with out pluging it in

Without plugging in you can't tell unless it'a the new model which will have the recent shipping release 5.0.
iOS versions don't quite match AppleTV software versions just to confuse everyone.

I do not know my apple administrator username and password. How do I find out what it is? I am trying to download IBM Notes and Domino onto my MacBook Pro and I cannot download the software without verifying my apple administrator username and password.

iOS is only for mobile devices, so:

If it's running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, insert a Mac OS X install DVD, restart with the Option key held down, click on it, and use the Reset Password utility.
If it's running Mac OS X 10.7 or newer, restart with the Command and R keys held down, open the Terminal, and use the resetpassword command:

I do not have the software to reboot my computer.  How do I find out what my administrator ID and password are?

    Hey,
Do you have access to the internet?
You might visit Adobe website and download Acrobat pro on your system.
Then, you can use your serial number for activating the software.

  • How do I find out what the latest software installation is on my iMac?

Usually "install updates now" windows indicate what you are installing or updating.  If that information is not included how do you find out what it is that you installed?

Which OS? The latest versions don't have a Software Update prefPane. To view what's installed with those, you need to run the System Information.app located in /Applications/Utilities/ and click on the Installations item.

  • How to find out what software was used to create a document?

    Hello:
I was sent a file to work with and it was supposedly made using a Mac computer, but I can't open it. How can I find out what program was actually used to create this document. It ends with xxxxx.rsrc. I even tried to open it on my PC and it says there is no default application specified to open the document.
    Thanks for your help.
    Susan
      Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Have you tried opening your file with Textedit?
Also, if you select the file from the Finder and type cmnd-I (Get Info), it should tell you what program can be used to open it.

  • My hard drive is full, i'm being told i have 284.03 GB of other.  How can I find out what these files are so i can delete them?

My Mac is telling me that my hard drive is almost full, i have used 7.65 GB for Audio. 16.58 GB for Movies, 9.89 GB for photos, 788.6 MB for Apps and 284.03 GB for Other.  how can i find out what "other" is so I can delete it?  I hope someone can help me.

If OS X is reporting you need to remove some items you obviously have a more severe issue.
To fix your issue is likely too complicated and lengthy to go into all of it here as it sounds like a OS X issue, it will require the services of person very familiar and experienced with Mac's to first recover your data and then restore OS X back to a functional state which may or may not require new hardware/software installed.
If your under warranty or AppleCare, take it in for service.
You can also hire the services of a local Mac computer support technician experienced in these matters.
Have them look at your Wifi, RAM amount, extra storage and computer backup proceedures in the process.
    Good Luck.

  • HT201240 I just got my Mac yesterday.  My kids want to access sites that need the adobe player.  When I try and download it asks for a password.   I do not even remember setting one up?  How do i find out what it is?

I just got my Mac yesterday.  My kids want to access sites that need the adobe player.  When I try and download it asks for a password.   I do not even remember setting one up?  How do i find out what it is?

FYI this is the legitimate Flash Player installer:
    This one is bogus:
As X423424X wrote do not download it from any site other than the one he linked.
Adobe does not require a password to download the Flash installer. Generally speaking passwords are not required to download software, unless you must register with the website so as to log in. In that case you should never use the same name and password you use to administer your Mac.

I recently bought a macbook pro retina and while I'm using it a yellow triangle pops up then disappears. I don't know what it says. How do I find out whats wrong?

Oh, by all means. Uninstall it using its uninstaller if you have one. Do not install any anti-malware software as it's unneeded with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion.
    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash.  Applications may create preference files that are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder.  Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space.  If you want you can look for them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application.  In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder.  You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder.  You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder.  Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item.  Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder.  Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences.  Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab.  Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
Some software use startup daemons or agents that are a new feature of the OS.  Look for them in /Library/LaunchAgents/ and /Library/LaunchDaemons/ or in /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.  Unfortunately Spotlight will not look in certain folders by default.  You can modify Spotlight's behavior or use a third-party search utility, EasyFind, instead.
Some applications install a receipt in the /Library/Receipts/ folder.  Usually with the same name as the program or the developer.  The item generally has a ".pkg" extension.  Be sure you also delete this item as some programs use it to determine if it's already installed.
There are many utilities that can uninstall applications.  Here is a selection:
        1. AppZapper 2.0.1
        2. AppDelete 3.2.6
        3. Automaton 1.50
        4. Hazel
        5. AppCleaner 2.1.0
        6. CleanApp
        7. iTrash 1.8.2
        8. Amnesia
        9. Uninstaller 1.15.1
      10. Spring Cleaning 11.0.1

  • How do I find out what my PW is on my Mac or at least how to reset it?

I reset my password for internet site but i must have a different pw on my Mac, it will not let me do updates without it*  The PW hint in the sign in screen is not working.  How do I find out what my PW is on my Mac or at least how to reset it?
    thanks,

Sounds like you want your administrative password on the Mac so can install? For starters, you'll want to ask in a Mac forum. I know you used to be able to reset it using the install disk but haven't tried that for years.
