HT4425 horizontal line display macbook air 11.1 2010 late

Have a good day.
i have a macbook air 11.1 intel core 2 duo 2010 late, right now i am  wacthing a horizontal line in the display, i have snow leopard system.
anyone know what kind of action can i do.
thanks.

Probably the best thing to do is take it to an Apple Store or AASP for service. You can try running Apple Hardware Test in Extended mode however I think any errors will require service. You may need to run AHT 3 or more times for it to find errors.

  • I have a macbook air bought in 2010 wit liquid damage that might has affected the SSD card. I need to get my data but apple won't help. Authorized dealers never seem to have the same model to try whether the SSD card works. How can I get my data quickly?

    Hi
I have a macbook air bought in 2010. It has liquid damage that might or might not affected the SSD card. I need the data on my SSD card for work and I need it urgently. Apparently Apple won't get the data out, even if I have apple care... Licensed apple dealers need to have the same macbook air model so they can insert the SSD card and check whether the data is there, and they never seem to have one...
I'm really disappointed with apple. It's been two weeks and I haven't been able to find out whether the SSD card is holding my data. It can't take that long to do it in store... How can they sell a product and then wash their hands on the matter?
Anyway, enough with the apple rant. I need to get this data urgently so I need to find out how I can get it out of the card. The SSD card and data might be fine so I don't want to take it to a data recovery centre and get charged loads.
    Thanks for your help.

See this link for a 4870 card, best instructs for flashing for a noob like me. (last lowest price was $150 for a 1GB vRAM 4870 from TigerDirect).
    http://web.me.com/jacobcroft/4870Flash/4870Flash.html
However, not every 4870 card will work with the ROM currently floating around out there. BEWARE!

  • Horizontal lines on macbook display

i have recently seens several horizontal lines on my macbook display.Started with one and now several of increasing size

    Run AHT
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11342
If it doesn't effect your other computing, only the display, it may be a bad graphics card.
You can try a PRAM reset
EDIT Wghat year is your MB and do you have AppleCare or Extended AppleCare?

  • Horizontal line on Macbook display

    Hello everyone!
I'm writing regarding my brother´s Macbook. The computer is about 1 month old now. He's been very satisfied with his first mac until now. A couple of days ago when his computer woke up from sleep it had this horizontal line (1px high) crossing the screen. It sometimes changes color, but it won't go away. I tried resetting the NVRAM but it didn't help. Does anyone know something that might solve the problem?
    //Jonas

    Welcome to macbook forum,..
It could be a "slow" pixel rather than a dead pixel.
If that line is crossing your screen, I think it accumulate more than 15 or 20 bad pixel that required to make it eligible to be covered by warranty (double check this with apple or authorized service center).
    also try this too:

    Good Luck.

  • Pink and black blocky display with horizontal lines on MacBook Pro

    Hello all.
I have an early 2006 MPB and recently (December '11), the display suddenly turned to a pink and black blocky pattern. Everytthing froze and a series of horizontal lines appeared next to the cursor. After resetting the PRAM to no avail, I did a clean install of snow leopard. Everything was then fine until now, a week later, it's happened again. Any ideas? I have photos of what it looks like but can't see anywhere I can post

    Here's what it's looking like
    http://yfrog.com/odllpycj

Yes, I'm suspecting it might be something like that.

  • White horizontal line on macbook pro retina display

When I scroll through photos, sometimes a white horizontal line will span the screen for a short time. It will span the whole screen for less than a fraction of a second so it was difficult to take a photo of it. I managed to do it but here the line is only halfway across the photo I was looking at.
Does anyone know what this line is and how I can avoid having it?

Take the MBPr back to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out while still under warranty...a graphics module problem will need their attention.

  • Daisy chain monitor from cinema display MacBook Air 5,2

I know the Mid-2012 MacBook Air is capable of 2 external displays as described here.
The monitor works when plugged directly into the MBA, but not when daisy chained from the back of the cinema display.
It's a dell monitor, and I'm using an Apple Thunderbolt-VGA adaptor.
Is there something I'm missing? Thanks!

As far as my question itself -- why does this happen? Has anybody had this issue on Lion and had it resolved on Mountain Lion?

  • Macbook Air 13" (Oct 2010) Locks up when connecting external display

Since I installed Lion my Macbook Air needs to be restarted nearly every time I connect an external display.   This did not happen prior to Lion and wondering if anyone has a solution.
    Details:
    - 13" Macbook Air (October 2010 version)
    - Dell 27" LCD display
    - Mini-Displayport <-> Displayport cable used to connect

OK. It was a guess anyway.
I changed my screen resolution and then did a search of system files to see what was changed today.
I sorted by descending date/time and that file was at the top of the list.
I opened it with the Property List Editor program and saw it contained the changed resolution, so I took a guess that deleting that file and rebooting would set you straight.
You might look for recently changed files with likely names in your personal settings folder:
    ~/library/preferences
and try deleting and re-logon (you don't need to restart if you're only changing your own files - a re-logon picks up the change)
Sorry - I don't have a better guess. Good luck

  • Pavilion dv7 horizontal lines - Display going bad?

DV7-7025dx bought in 2012. Today, on boot, horizontal lines right from the moment I turn it on. Lines are so bad I can barely see anything. Booted into windows - lines still there. After a few minutes they cleared up. Powered down, removed battery, reset bios, rebooted. Still there. Is the display/adapter going bad?

    Hi  ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!
I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook and issues with the screen flickers and going pink and green. Here is a link to a document that will help you troubleshoot the image on screen flickers, has lines or distorted colors. Have you connected a monitor to the Notebook to check if it happens there as well? Here is a link on how to clean the fans as this could be an issue. If this does not display on the Monitor it could be a connection issue with the LCD screen or the inverter cable. Please let me know how this goes. Thanks.

  • Buy Macbook air 11" now or later?

    Hey,
I definitely want to buy the Macbook air 11" as it is completely ideal for what I need in a laptop. I've done all my research about which laptop is right for me, etc. This is it, BUT....
Since I'm still saving for it, (should be ready in a couple of months), should I buy it when I can, or should I wait until OS X Lion comes out? I figure that if I wait then the MBA will come with Lion preinstalled and I won't have to fork out extra cash for the upgrade.
Does anyone know if this is true or if it will still come with Snow Leopard and I will have to buy Lion separately anyway? If I do, how will I install it on the MBA without a CD drive? Could it be possible that it will be available on the Mac App Store?

"Constraining" is relative. I moved down from a MBP 13" and I have not looked back. I never needed that much hard drive, 4GB RAM is plenty fast for all I do, and I love the beautiful little screen.
I can understand feeling constrained if one is deeply into gaming or video or something that needs and eats up that kind of disk space and/or requires a larger display. But I don't do anything like that on my machine. My need was for something light and small. My 11" is half the weight of my old computer, thin as thin can be, and perfect for the small tables at the coffee houses where I work.
It isn't constrained at all--it frees me from the constraints that a larger, heavier and more cumbersome computer caused me. And yes, for me, even a 13" MBA would be more cumbersome than this little 11"--and too constraining.
Which is to say, you might find this little machine constraining, but I've never felt so unconstrained For me, the 11" was the way to go. I would not switch it out for a 13", not for love nor money nor for all the bells and whistles that larger machine might have.

  • ICal, Macbook Air, and Exchange 2010

I have a user whos iCal is not syncing with Exchange 2010. When creating a new event, it gives the message "iCal can't save the event "xxxx" to the Exchange server. The account "xxxx" currently can't be modified. To discard your changes and continue using the version of your calendars that's on the server, click Revert to Server. To save your changes on your computer until the problem is resolved, click Go Offline."
The user is on a 2011 13" Macbook Air, 1.86 GHz Core 2 Duo. Snow Leopard 10.6.7, iCal 4.0.4. Mail and Address Book sync fine. The calendar works fine from the users iPhone, Outlook Web Access, and Outlook 2011 on the computer.
I have tried deleting the account, deleting all caches, and recreating it, but it still doesn't work. I created the account on my Macbook and it works fine, no problems syncing over wired or wireless connections. Macbook is also on 10.6.7, iCal 4.0.4. So I was thinking it was an account issue. I created a new account on the Macbook Air, set up the exchange account in iCal, and I get the same problem as on the original account, no syncing.. I have everything set up exactly the same as on my Macbook, but the Macbook Air refuses to sync. This error only appears when an event created on the Macbook Air is in the calendar. It pulls events from the server fine, but once an event is created it refuses to cooperate.
Do Macbook Airs just not play nice with Exchange?

This is not an issue with the Macbook Air.  I have had this same problem since upgrading to Lion.  One solution suggested (from MacRumors.com forum reply)  was to
    1) Open iCal and go into the iCal Menu/Preferences. Go to Advanced tab and enable Time Zone Support. Close iCal
    2) Open System Preferences and click on Date & Time. Click on Time Zone tab and enable the checkbox for auto detect time zone.
I did this several times without success before I finally got rid of the errors.  I have been error free for 3 weeks, but today the error is back (with no apparent changes made by me).  I'm still struggling to get rid of it now.

  • Horizontal lines on macbook

I have been having horizonal lines on my 13inch aluminum late 2008 macbook. I can move the screen back and forth and they seem to go away for a bit, but do come back. I was told that I need to replace my lcd screen, which isnt a problem for me. I just want to know what anyone else thinks before I buy a new screen for $50 (plus a heatgun) and fix it. Ive added pictures below (sorry they're upside down, but I hope you get the idea). Thank you very much for anyones help and input!

Might be a good idea to run the Apple Hardware Test > OS X Mavericks: Use Apple Diagnostics or Apple Hardware Test
May not be just the LCD screen but a bad graphics card.
In any case, the test would rule out anything else.

  • MacBook Air update/redesign 2010

I have been waiting for almost 6 months now for an update to this device so that I can purchase. I have almost purchased other products that I don't really want and that are not as ideal for me as the Air, but I've stuck to being hopeful. Does Apple not want us to purchase their ultra-portable computer? I for one am not going to go buy one of the stale models and then have an updated version released weeks later.. so as with all Apple products I have (and I have a good amount), I buy after a new refresh or spec update, which is usually only a few months apart.. however, it has been a year since the last update to the Air. A year. Somebody please tell me that I'm not the only one that thinks an update is RIDICULOUSLY overdue.

i'm not speculating about anything.. yet, i know had Apple been monitoring this forum they would've probably deleted the thread. The reason I (and a lot of people) like to buy after a fresh update is because I like to keep whatever I buy as long as possible.. I don't buy second-hand computers. I buy second-hand other things, but never second-hand computers. To me, it's not worth it, to you it may be different. But so, for the majority of us who buy new, the more current and powerful the specs, the longer it will last and the OS be upgradable. By doing that I make the best investment possible. I'm not going to invest 1399 (student price - 1499 regular) in something that hasn't been updated in over a YEAR! a spec/maybe hardware update is definitely imminent. Purchasing now would just be plain stupid.. And i never raise a stink about any Apple update. In fact i've always been like you, telling people to shut up and wait, but I've never been in this position where I've been waiting FOR SO LONG to buy, and seen them not updating it.. I mean really, I've waiting over a year without saying anything, so yesterday I decided to post this to see if anyone else felt the same way. I don't think I'm being unreasonable.

is there any way that apple can exchange me a new macbook pro for this one, becouse  it is quite a pitty that a new laptop worked flawlessly only for one year and 3 repair times didnt do no good.
Im really frustrated and sad about this.

After fighting with this issue, I managed to find the replication for me.
STEP 1. Create A Standard Account for test.
STEP 2. Connect a external display
STEP 3. Log in with the test account
STEP 4. Open Safari, and play a flash movie within the Safari (such as CNN news)
STEP 5. Open MS Powerpoint for mac
I don't know if this works for others, but this works for me: Could see the black screen caused from NVRM Read error
I'll show this to the Apple staffs tomorrow.
I hope this could be helpful to others who have struggle with this issue.

  • Can you connect MacBook Air (2010) to Dell Display S2440L?

Hi, I have a MacBook Air from mid 2010, uses an HDMI to mini display port cable.  I am trying to use a new Dell Display S244OL but it just flashes that it is going to go into power saving mode.  Is there something I can do to make it work?

You would need to consult with B&W on that one, as it's not an Apple product and they would know it capabilities best you should right to the source.
