HT4436 How do I create icloud email address

How do I creat an email address using icloud

Welcome to the Apple Community.
I'm afraid you can't change it. You could create an alias and use that or just start a new account.

  • Can I use my newly created iCloud email address as my Apple ID?

    Hey,
I know there have been loads of post regarding iCloud and account issues. I was wondering if it was possible to use my newly created iCLoud email address as my Apple ID and its primary address. I had a hotmail account as my Apple ID before signing up for iCloud. For me it's purely cosmetic and I want to retire that hotmail address.
    Thanks
    Peter

this has been really bugging me as well, i dont see why we cant do this.
if you create a new apple id you get the option to use a free icloud email as the apple id, but old users are stuck?

  • I want to add my kids to my icloud account how do i create them email addresses under my account?

I have an icloud account and an apple ID.
I want to create two new email addresses that my kids can use, but that are controlled under or by my account.
Somehow i've managed to create one new icloud email address, but can add another and can't see the one i've created in "manager my account"
    Any help greatfully recieved.
    Thanks
    Rich

You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it. This means that if you created aliases for your kids they will not be able to retain the addresses when they grow up and have their own accounts. Also note that though this means you can read their mail, it also means that they can read yours.

  • HT4436 How can I change my email address? Help?

It appears I have a similar email address to someone and we keep receiving each others mail - so how can I change my email address?

Once you have created an iCloud account and chosen an @icloud.com address to go with it you can't change the address (short of creating an entirely new account).
However, all is not lost. You can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account or move it to another account, and if it has @mac.com or @me.com versions these cannot be reinstated once deleted.
    More information on aliases here:

However all this won't stop you receiving emails at the primary address: but you can set up a Rule to move all such messages to the Trash. Go to the Mail page at http://icloud.com and click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left: choose 'Rules'.

  • Contacts no longer in sync between iPhone and Mac after creating iCloud email address

A few days ago, I was asked (by iCloud) to create an iCloud email address because it would be "better" than the email address I've been using. Since then, most of my contacts have disappeared from my iPhone 4s. I have noticed that the newest contacts are still on my iPhone, while all my other contacts are on my Mac and on iCloud.com.
How do I merge the two so that I don't lose any of the contacts and get them all in sync?
On my MacBook Pro, l have OS X v10.9.1, System Settings for iCloud checked for Contacts.
On my iPhone 4S, I have iOS 7.0.4, System Settings for iCloud ON for Contacts.
iCloud account on both devices is the same AppleID, which is my old AppleID, not the new @iCloud.com
My Hotmail email account has also been screwed up since this change. It keeps downloading the same messages over and over again and when I try to delete them, it tells me it is unable to move the messages to the mailbox trash.

Welcome to the Apple Community BratTheCat.
    Please try the following…
First check that all your settings are correct, that contact syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the contacts you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' group and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud group (you can do this by checking in groups), non iCloud contacts will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your contacts are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking contact syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling contact syncing.
iCloud doesn't change anything to do with non iCloud content, contact hotmail to resolve your hotmail problem.

  • How to get an iCloud email address?

I want to get an iCloud email address (@icloud.com) for several reasons, among them:
To streamline my iCloud account access so only that email is associated with iCloud & its services.
To provide email between Apple (e.g. Apple Support) and myself
To be able to use Notes
Currently, I am using the same Yahoo email address for both iCloud and iTunes.
However, I wonder if I can give those up and replace them by the iCloud.com email address?
Some details: I got a new-to-me iPhone a few weeks ago, which was reset, and so the only apps
on it are the default iPhone apps. I have not added any apps. Therefore, I don't mind having to do
another reset as long as I save the few photos and some phone number contacts to a Vcard.
Could I create a new iCloud email address and use that exclusively after reseting the iPhone?
I could restore the contacts and photos from the computer.

What if I were to wipe the phone clean, and start from scratch, never using my current Apple ID at all, but then activate iCloud to get an @icloud.com email address?
Yes, you can do that - please see imp68's post here:
Re: I wish to transfer my Apple ID to a new iCloud account
If you do this, it's vital that you create a 'rescue address' which is a non-Apple address, because if you don't and something goes wrong with the account - for example if you forget your password - Apple can only contact you at the iCloud address which youy can't access.

How can I change my email address?

You can't change an iCloud email address without setting up a new iCloud account.  You can, however, set up an alias email address with a new name and use that instead and email sent to the alias address will appear in the same inbox as the account you are using now.  This explains how to add an alias: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622.

  • Problem creating iCloud email address

I am attempting to create an iCloud email address. When I enter the address and click OK, I get the drop down window that asks me if I want to create the address and it warns me that I cannot change the address after creating it. I click create and it takes me back to the previous screen that asks me to create an address and the address I previously entered is still there. When I click OK, it repeats the whole process all over again.
Anyone else have this problem and know the solution?
    Thanks.

El Morche, I think the problem is that Apple's suggestions are bad! They included: <firstinitial>.<commonlastname>@icloud.com.
As soon as I tried again using a very unusual username (that I was sure would be unique), the registration succeeded.
    Thanks geaux86 for the tip!

  • How do I create another email address?

I am a new verizon subscriber. I have account userid, password, and email address.  I want my wife to have a verizon email address.  I think I can create her one.  I have created a sub account for her but I don't see how to get her an email address.

The subaccount name IS the email address.

  • How to change my icloud email address

I went to backup my iphone using icloud and its asking for a password to an email that was originally used to my school. I no longer go to school nor do i use that email. I cannot change the icloud email to my apple id. When i do try to delete the account it asks me for a password. I tried every password i have and I can't delete the stupid account. How do i change the email to my apple id?

An iCloud account is also an Apple ID. It sounds like you have two different Apple ID accounts -- your iCloud account, and the Apple ID you created with your school email address. Unfortunately you cannot merge Apple ID's, but you can manage them at appleid.apple.com.

  • How to change a iCloud email address that I don't have the password to?

I have a non email address as a iCloud account and I don't know the password to. I can't verify the email because it's not a real email address. I have a separate Apple ID that I use for apps but the iCloud account is different. How can I solve this problem?

You need to contact the previous owner and have them remove it.

  • How to remove an iCloud email address from an iPad

Not sure if this should be here or posted in the iCloud area, but will try here first.  I used to have an @me.com address (after the .mac one went away) and now I have the same address, but @icloud.com.  When I tap on the "From:" field when composing a message on my iPad, I get the option of using my primary Gmail account, my @icloud.com account, or my @me.com account.  I would like to not see the @me.com account be an option as I'm never going to use it.  How can I remove that and have the available options include only the @icloud.com account from iCloud?

I don't believe you can.  The @icloud address was added as an alias to your @me address, which will remain intact.  Messages sent to either address arrive in the same inbox and I don't believe you can delete the @me option.  You can, however, choose @icloud as your default rather than @me, as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5441.
