HT4436 I can't get into icloud with my apple id

I have an apple ID and have just downloaded the icloud to my PC but it did not ask me to set an icloud account, just to use my apple id... which I did. It recognises the Apple id but says it is not a icloud id but there has been no opportunity to set one up. what do I do??

It is not possible to setup an iCloud account on a PC, it must be done from an Apple device. Once the account is setup you can login from a PC.

    I recently changed my Apple ID (to my new email address), but my iPhones are still showing my old Apple ID and are asking for my old password.  It no longer exists and now I can not add any Apps or get into iCloud because they previous ID no longer exists but that is what is popping up in Apple ID box and I cannot change it on the phone.  How do I get my new Apple ID assigned to my phone(s)?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    If it's iCloud that is asking for these details:
    This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
    However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
    The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
    You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

    If it's iTunes asking for these details:
    In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
    If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

    Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap his ID and sign out. Sign in with your ID. If you are in iOS 6 it is Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Apple ID.

    Noob here, did a search and couldn't seem to find an answer. (or I didnt look hard enough. ) So aplogies if these have already been asked before.
    I want to change my iCloud email address, but I've searched around here and read that you can't change it once you create it and link it to your apple ID. So, I created an alias and was wondering if you could log into iCloud with an alias email?
    For example if my iCloud address is [email protected] and my alias was [email protected], could I go to icloud.com and login using [email protected]?
    Also, what are the proper steps to get the alias email to behave like the icloud primary email;I stupidly chose a dumb icloud email address and regret it, and if I set the alias to be the only email to be able to send mail in my iphone and macbook, can I basically ignore the primary icloud email and use the alias the whole time to send and compose mail?
    Also, I don't necessarily need to know/use the primary icloud email, since I use my apple ID to log into icloud.com?
    From what I understand, the primary icloud that is linked to your apple ID is mail server, right? I'm not really sure, to be honest.

    In the Mail application on your Mac, add the aliases, separated by commas, to the 'Email address' field in Preferences>Accounts>General. They will then appear in the drop-down menu for the 'From' address in the New message pane.
    They already appear in the equivalent place in the new message pane at icloud.com.

    The most common cause at the moment is a repaired or refurbished Mac missing the serial number on the Logic board.
    Use the Apple Icon Menu > About this Mac.
    Near the top is the current OS version listed
    Click this line twice (Once to Build number and again to Serial number)
    If it is missing you need and Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider to sort this for you.

    When I try to configure iCloud with my Apple ID which I used successfully in the past
    and is known by Apple I get a message (translatet from German) :
    "This email address of this Apple-ID can not be verified. Change your email address at appleid.applecom and register
    at Mobile.me. Apple ID or password are unknown"
    That is very confusing and wrong. I have a valid Apple ID. I do have only one email address. I cannot change it.
    There is no more Mobile.me
    It would be nice if somebody can help me.

    I'll try and help, some questions first.
    Is your Apple ID an email address that ends in '@me.com' or '@mac.com'?
    Was it used previously with a MobileMe account?
    Can you log in at http://appleid.apple.com and if yes does it indicate that the address is verified?

    I assume you mean you want to get data back to some other device or computer (since the iphone can't be turned on).  "numbers", is this phone numbers (contacts)?  If so, by logging into your icloud account from another device or computer, you can view your contacts.  Not so with photos - the only way to get them back is IF they were backed up to icloud using your device and then preform a restore to another device - but that would mean you'd have to wipe that device clean and then download everything to that device (making it a clone of the locked iphone).

    Trying using your current Apple ID password. If that doesn't work, continue to the next step.
    2. Sign out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime
    If you are currently signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    If you are not signed in to iMessage or FaceTime
    3. Change your Apple ID temporarily
    If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't work, try these steps:
    Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
    Tap Settings > iCloud and try to sign out.
    Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
    Tap Settings > iCloud and sign in with the new Apple ID.
    Complaining about an issue arising when you don't follow their instructions is like complaining that you lost all of your data because you never backed it up to iTunes or iCloud as they recommend, and you lost data after an iOS update.  In fact, the very first step of [iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Support - Apple] states: "Back up your device to iCloud or iTunes."  And it even includes a link if you don't know how to do that.
    When you use the Apple Support Articles properly, you avoid 99.9% of all potential problems.

    to delete backups in itunes for to Edit>Prefences>Devices. Select the backup you want to remove then hit delete underneath that box containing your backups. If mac os click on iTunes in your tool bar and same steps as above.
