HT4436 I've downloaded all my devices but when I try to open ICloud the page is black and just spins

I set up my ICloud acct and downloaded my IPhone and IPad and my PC, but when I go to open it up, I get a black screen and the symbol just spins! What am I forgetting to do?

Have you tried closing the iBooks app completely and seeing if it works ok when you re-open it ? From the home screen (i.e.not with the iBooks app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iBooks app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If neither of the above work then you could also try deleting the app and re-installing it - as long as the books are still in the store and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

    I think I have found an answer on another page! If anyone else wants to know just do this:
    Hold down the home and sleep button (if the turn off button comes up just ignore it) and when you see the apple logo release the buttons and let it wake up!
    It worked for me and seem to work for a lot of people. Hope this helps!!

    Delete it from your device by holding your finger on it until it starts to shake, then hit the little cross to remove it.

    If you can't get the exported .csv file to work you might consider using Migration Assistant: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2518, particular if you need to move more than just your contacts.  There is some granularity in the options on what to transfer but I'm not sure if you can choose to just your migrate contacts.

    I have tried to download the book, How Jesus became God" by Bark Ehrman.  Even though IBook states download and I have the icon for the book in my library when I try to open the book I get the message, " It is formatted incrrectly, or is not a format that iBooks can open".  This is even though I purchased the book through IBooks and the IOS is adequate.

  • I just downloaded some video podcasts, but when I try to Sync them, a window pops up and says: "(name of podcast) was not copied to (name of ipod) because it cannot be played on this ipod."

    Anyone know what the problem is?

    The Problem:
    This could be due to a variety of situations.
    1) The podcast video file is not in a format supported by your iPod Nano, the iPod Nano 5th Generation supports video formats .m4v .mp4 or .mov in a resolution of 640 by 480 pixels.
    2) There isn't enough space on your iPod, check the size of the video compared to the space available on your iPod.
    3) The third possible problem is that the podcast provider may not have properly uploaded the video file.
    4) The video may not have been downloaded properly in iTunes.
    Possible Solutions:
    1) Update to the latest version of iTunes and check that the software on your iPod is up to date
    2) Try to re-download the podcast from iTunes
    3) go to the podcast provider website and see if they have a direct link to download the file.

    I have had iTunes installed on this laptop for a year, but when I opened iTunes today, the screen froze. No buttons would work.
    After having this happen, I uninstalled iTunes from my computer then downloaded the newest version from the Apple website. Same thing happened. So I uninstalled again and tried to wipe all traces from my hard drive. I have rebooted a dozen times in this install/uninstall process and have gone into the application files and deleted all Apple applications and folders, then rebooted, then downloaded and installed itunes again. The last time I did this, I disable Norton before downloading and installing iTunes.
    Same result. Frozen screen.

    ack, i hate when people say they installed and uninstalled several times. It makes a mess of files on your computers and can impair things once you get iTunes going. Use Microsofts CleanUp Utility and clean up all that mess.
    Next, I want you to do something. Since iTunes kinda randomly froze on you, I want to rule out malware. Especially since you have Norton. Go download this free malware tool here: http://www.ewido.net/en/ It is really great at catching and removing the malware that affects iTunes.
    Then, I want you to turn OFF Norton prior to downloading iTunes. I want you to try to download it, but this time save it to your Desktop or harddrive and install it from there instead of trying to do it over the internet.
    Next, you will have to configure your Norton Firewall to play nicely with iTunes. But leave it off first to see if you can get iTunes working without freezing. Come back if you still have problems.

    I run Windows 7. I installed Adobe CS4, and when I tried to open Firefox after, got a popup window with a list of errors.     You'll need to install Flash Player 10.3.183.90, the last version supported for OS X 10.5.8. Download the archive zip file, http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_10.3.183.90_archive.z ip, and extract the contents. Then navigate inside the 10_3_r183_90 directory and use the file named flashplayer_10_3r183_90_mac_intel.dmg.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
    Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

    You're welcome.  I've never set up an alias but according to this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2622,
    "The text you provide becomes the email address ([email protected]). An alias must contain between 3 and 20 characters."
    This certainly implies that the alias is not required to be your registered name, and only becomes the prefix for a new @me.com address.  There might be something going on with the servers right now as they are probably very focused on getting ready for the iPhone 5 pre-order release, which is supposed to happen any minute now.  You might have better luck if you waited a while.
