HT4436 iCloud account for windows 8 and not latest apples iOS product
I recently upgraded to a windows 8 and have the latest itunes installed meaning I have access to icloud but I do not have the latest iOS so I can't set up an iCloud account. Is there a way I can do this through itunes or on my pc?

Use a family iCloud account for bookmarks and find my iPhone - iOS 7?
Prior to upgrading to ios 7, I was able to use one icloud account as a family icloud account where I would only enable the find my iphone and bookmarks in Safari so that all of our bookmarks would by synced across all of our devices and our home family imac computer. In addition, through one login, I could use find my iphone to locate any device in our family.
With ios7, it seems only the primary icloud account can enable bookmark syncing and find my iphone. Anyone know if there is a work around? I don't want to make the family icloud the main icloud account on each device since it will require more icloud storage space to backup everyone's devices and it will also interfere with photo stream and documents/data stored.
Any ideas or suggestions? It was so nice to be able to sync bookmarks across all devices like that.

MarcoIn order for users to disable find my iphone they would need to login into your icloud account or if they wipe youe phone clean it will still ask for your apple id and password in order to activate the phone if they restore it so either they will get stuck with a useless phone

Yes, I'm having this problem also and mistakenly uninstalled iCloud 3.1 thinking that this would resolve the problem....which it didn't. Now I'm without iCloud period and have been searching for the old version of 3.1 to reinstall to no avail, and it seems that many people are having the same problem. Does anyone have a link or download for iCloud 3.1?

Two iCloud accounts for work and home?
On my iPad2, I have a home email account and a work email account and work calendar. If I set up a second (work) user account on the family iMac, can I have two iCloud accounts to keep work and home separate? I would like to share pictures, home emails, etc with my wife's iPad and iPhone, but not share the work email and work calendar. Will I be able to have both iCloud accounts share with my iPhone 4s and iPad? For now, I am using a google calendar for work on the iPad2 and sync it to Google.
That's not a problem, you can create a second account from system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars, click on the small plus icon in the bottom left corner, choose iCloud from the list of options, click on the 'create Apple ID' button and follow the rest of the instructions.
Note however, a secondary account has all the features of a primary account apart from photos stream and Back to My Mac, only your primary account can use these features. -

No-one in this user to user forum can possibly know. If Apple's engineers are struggling with it they may well not know. There's little point in contacting them - they know about it and are working on it.

I moved into iCloud from the very beginning and started with one iCloud account for me and my family, making use of email aliases for family members. Now the number of personal iDevices grows and I want to create a new and separate iCloud Account for my son. The pity is, that I reserved his full name already as alias address on my initial iCloud account. If I now delete this alias, can I create a new account with the former alias as new primary email address?
Or is there at least any transfer procedure supported for aliases between different accounts?
Thanks for your help, lauterbachjCouldn't agree more... the folks who are getting penalized for this are the early adopters of .Mac/iCloud dating from the days when the only way to implement a "family" account was to use aliases. Now all my kids' / my wife's name aliases sit in my account, unable to move. I guess the good news is that if I delete them nobody else will get them, but this seems a pretty poor consolation.
Would it really be so difficult to implement a "move this alias to another iCloud account" option that requires the "sender" and "receiver" to exchange some sort of code to implement the transation in order to prevent fraud? -

iCloud complimentary storage plans expire tomorrow. Do we need separate iCloud accounts for iphone and laptop?
I'm thinking you had a Mac/Me.com account like I did that got transferred to iCloud. We were kinda grandfathered in to 25gig storage while the basic iCloud account storage is 5. As far as I know that storage plan is the only thing that expires tomorrow. You'll just be reverted back to the basic 5gig storage.
As far as anything else you don't need to have a different iCloud account, remember only one iCloud account can be used for the full suite of services on your phone but you could use a different one for iTunes and App store purchases if you wanted to. My wife and I share one account for those purchses on all our devices and computers but I do also use a separate iCloud account as my main one on my phone to keep our emails, messages, etc. separate. -
OK, so here's my poser for the day:
My son (9) is getting an iPod Touch for Xmas (don't tell him!! ) and I'm going to link it to my own AppleID for iTunes and the like so that I can manage any purchases.
However, I'd like him to have his own iCloud account for email and syncing capability (let along "Find My iPod"), and so that he's not burdening my own storage. As he's 9, it's not possible to create his own AppleID (without faking his birthdate, which I won't do, of course). Is there a way to create only an iCloud account for him?
What I really don't want (or need) is another AppleID, as I already have several of them, plus I'd like his account to stay with him as he grows up and eventually be able to link it to his own AppleID as and when he becomes eligible.
Any ideas? Many thanks in advance.There is no way to create a new iCloud account without an AppleID unfortunately. Family accounts no longer exist since the demise of MobileMe.
Apple doesn't appear to have thought about and catered for people in your situation, despite them knowing that iOS devices are being given to kids much younger than 9.
Parents I know have just faked the birthdate when creating the AppleID for their child to create an iCloud account. It can easily be updated later when they are within the arbitrary age limit and given the password to the account. They continue to use the parents AppleID for iTunes and AppStore purchases until they are old enough to make their own purchases. -
I have tried to install icloud 4.0 for windows and again is does not allow syncing with outlook 2013 calendar and contact, using windows 8.1 and IOS 8.02 (get - unexpected error)?
Having same issues. had been syncing every few days with outlook 2007 contacts and calendar but since updated to 4.0.2 and latest itunes I get an error that it is unable to sync. I can't seem to find any solution.

I talked to your guys yesterday about installing correct version of Lightroom 5 which I legally owned, and your guy provided me a download link (different from Creative cloud account), but somehow it was for Windows version not for Mac version. I would very much like to download a Mac version, so please send my correct web link. By the way my s. number for Lightroom 5 up is [removed], and I also have s.number for 4 up and 3 full.

Help!!! I've lost all of my contacts and information after the ios7 update. After the update I plugged my phone into my MacBook and it reverted back to my old icloud account. I checked my MacBook and everything on there is connected to my new icloud account. I'm not sure why this has happened, but I have been trying for two days to get my new icloud account back. My phone won't allowe to log out of the icloud account it is logged into because I don't know the password. Simple solution, reset the password. Not so simple. I don't have the email address associated with the account anymore. So I attempted the security question option. When I entered my birthdate, it said that it was incorrect. I have tried multiple times and nothing will work. Can someone please help me??
If you don't know your password, don't know your security questions and don't have a rescue address or don't receive a reset email, you should contact AppleCare who will initially try to assist you with a reset email or if unsuccessful will pass you to the security team to reset your security questions for you.
If you are in a region that doesn't have international telephone support try contacting Apple through iTunes Store Support. -
If I use the same iCloud account for my ipad and iPhone, will changes I make on one change on the other as well? I'm not sure of the advantage of using teh same iCloud for both devices.
No, it only mirrors changes to synced data. This includes mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, safari bookmarks, notes, iWork documents and data, and photo stream photos (assuming you choose to sync all this data). Changes to iTunes data such as music, apps, podcasts, etc., are not synced using iCloud. In your example, if you delete an app from one device it will remain on the other until deleted there too.

Be sure you are checking the email account that you used to set up the Apple ID you used to create the iCloud account. Also, be sure to check your spam/junk folder as well as your inbox. The email you should receive looks like the image below. When you get it, click the Verify Now link.
If it still isn't there, try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage your Apple ID, sign in, click on Name, ID and Email addresses on the left, then to the right look for a link to resend the verification email. -
I want to clean up my icloud account but I can not delete my mail storage and I don't using icould for my mails so there's nothing in the trash.
