The iPad cannot send traditional text messages (SMS) which are platform independent since they are a carrier service.
The iPad uses Apple's own messaging service iMessage to send messages. Which means only Apple devices can receive those.
If you need to message people on other platforms you need a different messaging App liike Skype or Google Hangouts. Note, that these will not be SMS messages like your phone can send. They'll be internet based messages so the other user will have to be registered with the service you choose to use, and you will have to have him as a contact in that service to be able to send them a message.

Great question! What type of email account are you using? Most email providers these days offer IMAP accounts (as opposed to POP). With IMAP, your changes should reflect across your devices (for example: if you read an email on your iPhone, it should be marked as read on your iPad). If you want to sign in to your existing iCloud account on the other device follow this steps...
iPhone/iPad: Settings > iCloud or Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account... > iCloud
Mac: System Preferences > iCloud or System Preferences > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > + to add an account... > iCloud

Try this link. You will need to have an icloud account and other Apple devices but this will help store pictures etc. not sure what you are trying to do but maybe this will help.

You can buy an unlocked iPhone at any of the 5 Apple stores in NYC. All are open on Sunday. Note a couple of things, however:
US iPhone 5's will work on 3G in the rest of the world, but not on LTE because the US phones use different channels than other countries
Be sure you say "unlocked", not "no contract"
If it breaks it must be returned to a US store for repair, and if shipped to Apple it must be from and to a US address

I am assuming you have an ipod nano 6th gen (the small one with a touch screen)
unfortunately, the ipod nano 6 gen can not play videos whatsoever unless you hack it so even with a cable it does not work.

Any content that is currently on the phone will be tied to the account that bought/downloaded it (so you won't be able to update any of its apps or copy its content to your computer's iTunes). You can log out of the currently logged in account by tapping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores if it's on iOS 6) and you can then do Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings to remove all of the previous owner's content - you can then log in with your own account on it and copy your own content onto it from your computer's iTunes

The AirPlay feature is only available whe you have an Apple Tv. You can mirror the display form your iPad if the iPad and Apple Tv are both connected to the same WPA (or the same Wi-Fi). Air Drop is a way of sharing files, such as pictures, PDFs, and text documents. Hope this helps.
