HT4436 When I first purchased an iPhone, I used an email I no longer have access too when creating my account.  I've changed this email for my regular iTunes account, but the cloud defaults to the old email address as the account.  How do I change this?

How do I change an iCloud account using an old email address I no long have access too?

Welcome to the Apple community.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple IDand that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • I had to change my Apple ID because it was using an email I no longer have access to.  I cannot update apps.  HELP

I had to change my Apple ID because it was using an email I no longer have access to.  I was able to change it just fine.  Now when I try an upodate my apps, it brings up my old Aple ID name so I am unable to update my apps.  How do I change the that?

    Hi tabby4800,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you may have created a new Apple ID and not edited the old one. Any applications that were downloaded from the old account will need the Apple ID and password from the account that downloaded them to update. You can either enter the password for that account or delete the applications and download them fresh from your new account to resolve this issue. Please refer to the following discussion for further information.

  • HT4859 I CHANGED THE EMAIL ON MY ITUNES AND IT IS NO LONGER BACKING UP BECAUSE IT WANTS THE OLD EMAIL, WHICH I NO LONGER HAVE ACCESS TOO.

I changed the email to my itunes and now my cloud is stuck on the old email which I no longer have access.

To change your iCloud account to a new Apple ID, go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off.  When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPad.  (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.)  After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On.  When prompted, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to your new account.
This will not move your photo stream, however.  If you have photos in photo stream that aren't in your camera roll and you haven't backed up anywhere else you will need to save these before deleting the account.  To do this, open your photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.  You can then delete the iCloud account and your photos will stay in your camera roll.

  • I cant sync my iphone to my re installed itunes.  It is saying my iphone is already synced with another library.  How do I get rid of that old Itunes library that I no longer have access too?

I recently re installed itunes (due to pc crashing).  When I connect my iphone to sync it is telling me my Iphone is already synced to another library.  I no longer have access to that library.  How do I delete that old library to enable me to sync to my new library?

You don't need to delete the old library, but it will take a little effort to transfer the allegiance of the device to your new one.
    You should be able to:
Backup the device to the new installation
Transfer your purchases into a newly authorized library
Recover any other media using third party tools as suggested in this post from forum regular Zevoneer
Restore the device from the backup
This process should switch the association of the device to the new library, preserving the data and settings in your apps.
May also be prudent to attempt a backup to iCloud directly from the device before you start... Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > iCloud Backup > On. It won't save any media but it would preserve the general account settings and documents in case anything goes wrong while you are trying to extract your other data.
When you get it all fixed, make a backup!

  • How do I unsync my iphone 5c from a computer I no longer have access to?

Recently, I had to replace my laptop as the original (sony vaio, windows 7) I had finally bit the bullet and the hard drive died.  I was able to recover all my files on an external drive, but had to get a new laptop.  I'm now using an HP (windows 8) and I have an iphone 5c.  Since I can't really access the old iTunes I had on my last laptop, I don't know how to unsync my phone from it.  Does anyone know how I can do this?

  • I can't install 8.11 on my iPhone 5 because I can't sign in to the iCloud.  I asks for the password to an old Apple ID whose email I no longer have access to.

    iPhone 5 64 GB

If you want to change your iCloud ID or password on your phone go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then sign back in with your updated information.  Note: this only deletes the account and any synced data from your phone, not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts it will be synced back to your device when you sign back in.

  • My daughter has her own itunes account under her email/my credit card info for ipod touch; I now have iphone 4, with different itunes acct, but I want to put songs from her acct. onto my phone; how do I do this?

Things are even more confusing, because shortly after getting my iphone 4, I tried to update it to the newest version and the phone crashed; my husband reformatted the phone to factory settings, and in the process set up my phone with my daughter's email address.  Now I can't seem to get it switched back to my own email address/account for the purpose of my itunes account.  Am I missing something?  I am NOT technologically adept.

Go to settings, store, click on apple ID, sign out and sign back in with your ID.  You can put her music into your account.  That is illegal.

  • I have a 32 GB iPod classic, about 7 yrs. old. It is formatted to Mac, but I no longer have access to a Mac. Can I reformat it to PC (yuk!) without losing my music or screwng it up?

I have a 32 GB iPod classic, about 7 yrs. old. It is formatted to Mac, but I no longer have access to a Mac. Can I reformat it to PC (yuk!) without losing my music or screwng it up?

You need to transfer the music from your iPod on to your iTunes library on your PC, since that is where you are currently syncing and where you are signed into iTunes Match.  It doesn't matter that you were previously syncing it with a Mac, and you won't need to reinstall iTunes on your PC.  But you will have to use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer any music not purchased from the iTunes store from your iPod to your iTunes library.  Here's another guide on this, which is shoter and you may find easier to follow: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive.  Also, if you're using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar.  This will make it easier to follow along with these guides.

  • I am trying to sync 2 different itune accounts into one. The first one is so old I no longer have access to the email. When I just sync'd I only got 6 songs. How can I get the songs on my Ipod on this deskop?

I am trying to sync my ipod info from my laptop to my desktop. When I did the transfer only 6 songs came through. How can I sync all my accounts. One email address is so old I no longer have access to it. Help???

It appears that something happened to yur computer/iTunes files.  It happens sometimes.  To recovery:
    - Import the old music into the current iTunes library
    - Make sure all the apps are also in the library
    - If in the USA and therplaces where iCloud has benn released you can redownload most iTunes puchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    - You can always redownload apps at no additional cost as long as you are singned into the same iTunes account the originally purchased them.
    - After all the suff in in the iTunes library, make a backup of the iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes.
    - Restore the iPod from backup and restore as necessary.

  • I changed my Apple ID on iTunes and on the iPhone 4. When I try to "Update All" the old Apple ID (I no longer have access to the email address) shows up. How do I update those apps?

I changed my Apple ID on iTunes and on the iPhone 4. When I try to "Update All" the old Apple ID shows up (I no longer have access to that email address). How do I update those apps?

Apps are DRM protected and tied to the account used to originally obtain them. They cannot be transferred to another iTunes account nor updated using another iTunes account. Only the account used to obtain them can be used to update them. You can contact iTunes support, explain the situation & ask that they add these apps to the download queue of your new account:

Contact Apple, either through the link in that article or by phoning them. Alternatively, just create a new Apple ID; previous iTunes Store purchases won't be transferred to it.

  • Trying to erase settings from my old iphone but when I have to enter my itunes ID password the old email address is displayed.  How can I change this to my existing itunes account so I can reset this phone?  Thank you.

Trying to erase settings from my old iphone but when I have to enter my itunes ID password the old email address is displayed.  How can I change this to my existing itunes account so I can reset this phone?  Thanks in advance.

I know it sounds weird, and that is the reason I posted my question.  Because my case is not like all the ones I've found online and it's confusing.  I added a screen capture of my itunes with my old iphone (the one that houses my playlists) connected to it.
My playlists "ARE"  in my iphone 4s.  They are still there even though they do not show up when I plug in to itunes in my computer.
When connecting my phone to itunes on my macbook, the playlists do not appear anywhere in itunes.  I have found my connected iphone icon, I have clicked on the arrow next to it and it does pull up the standard lists that come with the iphone/itunes:  Music, Movies, TV shows, books.  That's it! below that is "Genius" and below "Geniuns" is "PLAYLISTS"  but the only playlist of mine that shows there is one that I created several years back titled "90's music" and that one I created it on my computer, not my phone.  Under "90's music" there are also other standard playlists that itunes automatically adds.
Does anyone else have this issue or know how to get around this.  I am starting to think that I am going to have to recreate these lists on my computer
