I've downloaded a video to my iPad using the VDownloads app. How do I play this on my Apple TV?
Not familar with that app, if it's enabled for airplay then you can use that.

ATV won't sync latest downloaded Video from Apple..
Hi all.
I've tried everything I can think of without luck. Ive had ATV now for several months. No issues apart from the normal ones that everyone seems to have.
My Itunes library is off the imac, stored on a Apple time capsule. Everything syncs just fine except one music video which i purchased from Apple store.
In my sync settings I have sync music videos (in fact there are several there that are synced already so I know this function works)
Any help greatly appreciated.
RoyOriginally, for the first 9 months of ownership, everything i purchased on the apple tv would automatically sync back to the main itunes computer. Then I purchased a few movies and they never synced to the computer. Continued to purchase tv shows with those successfully syncing to computer. In the last month though many of the tv shows are stranded on the apple tv with no syncing back to the computer. Tried purchasing some free shows (newly released stuff today after the itunes update) and they seem to be syncing back to the computer okay. So I have some movies and lots of tv shows that are in limbo on the apple tv and have never been synced back to the computer.
Even stranger my apple tv doesn't show up on the sidebar under devices after updating itunes today. It still shows under devices in the preferences window and i see the library on the apple tv. Unfortunately with the stranded content i am afraid to break the connection and reestablish for fear of losing the content that is on the apple tv but not on the computer.
Would be nice to get a little insight on this from apple since it seems this question shows up many times. -
When I try to view my downloaded video footage all my computer gives me is a jpeg image.
I just purchased a Canon Vixia HF R300 camcorder, downloaded the Pixela Transfer Version 2.5, and imported a sample video from my camera to my four-year-old Dell laptop that runs of Windows XP. The Pixela program showed that the import was completed without a problem, but then when I tried to play the video all that my computer would give me is a single jpeg image from the video. That' it. Just one still of the opening shot. What happened to the video?
Thanks for you help. It's enough that I have to purchase an external mic in order to escape the sound of the camera, now I can't even play my videos on my computer. Dang.

The movies from your camcorder are stored in the MTS or MP4 format, depending on the settings.
When transferring movies, please ensure that your camera is in the movie playback mode.

Have downloaded video but can't get closed captions?
Have downloaded video from Apple TV, and while it shows it should contain Closed caption, I can't find a way of getting them up on screen when replaying. Any thoughts?
It depends on if the content you are watching as any. If you select and hold down the select button while playing the content it will bring up the content menu. The subtitles tab will let you select what ever content is encoded for the show you are watching.

Apple no longer includes Flash with the new Macs. So, if you run into things that require Flash you must, if you want to view them, go to the Adobe site and download the Flashplayer as Paul_31 suggested.

I do something like that, and can confirm 20 feet won't be a problem. More than 30 or so might be.

Yes, you can use the 85 watt adaptor. You cannot use the new adaptors because your computer is not equipped with the proper MagSafe connector. But you can use the older MBP adaptors as well as a 60 watt replacement adaptor. All can be found at Apple's Online Store.

After the IOS7 updates, when we are viewing music videos on my phones I can no longer turn the phone horizontal to see a bigger viewing of the video. I can only see it widescreen in vertical mode which is much smaller. Now when you turn it sideways, it pops up album cover art and I hate that. Is there a way to fix that?
We are just users like you and don't know why Apple does what it does. This is not a place to "vent," it is a place to ask technical questions. As of now there is no way to change or modify the way these folders appear in Windows Explorer. You can provide feedback to Apple about this issue at this link: http://www.apple.com/feedback

Can no longer view videos on Apple web site
I'd like to watch the new iPad videos on Apple's web site but my iMac no longer loads them. I can view You Tube videos, movies, Quicktime etc. But on the Apple web site the video never loads. Any ideas why this might be? OSX 10.7.3 3.06 GHz Core Duo, 4G RAM.

If you having problems watching WWDC Keynotes, tutorials or Trailers on the Apple website, check your Quicktime Player 7 settings in System Preferences:
Under Streaming, set for Automatic, enable Instant On and Play Immediately.
Under Advanced, click Mime Settings and ensure that Streaming (both kinds) are enabled.
Note that if you are running Snow Leopard you should be using Quicktime Player 7 and not Quicktime 10. Snow Leopard does not have a QuickTime System Preference pane. No MIME Settings options. No streaming settings. If a User has migrated from 10.5.8 then those settings have moved over (but no changes can be made). QuickTime Player 7 is in your Applications/Utilities folder (if you've got it installed). If not you can install it from the Snow Leopard DVD (Optional Installs). -

Yeah, just as said above, you need to convert it to iPad supported video formats first and then sync it back to the iPad.

I am trying to connect my JVC Hard Disk Drive Camcorder to my IPAD 2 via the Apple camera kit. I am able to download photos, but video files not showing. Camera shows Mass Stoarge. How can I download videos please?
The file name only has 6 characters and I'm not sure what the .mod format is. So that's why they are not seen by the iPad.
Another way to transfer. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Firstly I updated my ipad into ios7 and after watching the video by Apple, iWork, pages and numbers are free for download after updating iOS 7. How can I download iWork pages and number for free? Please help me.
stevejobsfan is correct; iwork for ios is free only for new purchases of new ios devices. A good work around (if you have wifi connectivity) is going to the icloud website on your ipad, and working on your document.
A word of caution (the real reason I am responding to your post). If you do a lot of 'formatting' of a document on iwork for mac, and then save it in icloud; you will probably loose most of the formatting you have done (this will be true if you oppen the document in iwork for ios; also) It happened to me, and I did not duplicate the document before saving it to icloud; I lost at least an hours worth of work. -
Buffer Over run when trying to view downloaded Video
I've recently downloaded a video from iTunes. When trying to play via iTunes, it crashes after a moment, giving no error but a windows error of "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close"
I have tried opening this file through QuickTime and I get this error:
"A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted eternal state. The program cannot safely continue exacution and must now be terminated"
I have:
1. Uninstalled/Reinstalled both iTunes/Quicktime
2. Updated Motherboard chipset drivers
3. Cleaned out all references to both Quicktime and iTunes
4. Cleaned out all Registry entries involving quicktime.
Since all these were "fixes" to this question before, I thought maybe there was one I was missing.

If I want to watch a video from apple.com/trailers
often but not always the "buffer overrun" error appears.
Everytime I can hear a quiet cracking in the sound
if I play back the video while QT is loading the rest of the video.
The cracking sound always disappers when the load-process had come to its end.
So I´ve updated all updatable, of course the Realtek HD-Audio-Driver (on the Intel HD-Audio-Bus), too !
This made it worse than before.
Now it can happen that the video stops in the middle because of the buffer overrun.
ALL OTHER applications are working fine.
For example I can hear music or reports with winamp while downloading big files without any disturbing sound and ugly error-messages.
I think now the Apple developers are asked !
