HT4437 Why can't you stream Amazon Prime using Apple TV?

The whole reason I bought the Apple TV was to be able to stream from my ipad and my macpro to TV my Amazon Prime free movies. Now it looks like this is blocked. This seems outrageous. I told the sales person at the store what I wanted to do and they recommended the Apple TV. When I went back they did not know that Amazon Prime is blocked. What's up with this? Any chance that Amazon Prime will be able to be on seen on Apple TV any time soon?

Not sure if an app will be realeased, but you can stream Amazon Instant Videos from your computer to your Apple TV.

If that's the case it's likely the content provider/Amazon is blocking the video component of Airplay.

why cant you change font on iphone? i hate the font that is on apple devices!!

Because Apple has not made that a feature of the phone. They have never stated why. However, Apple has a long history of discouraging user customization so it's not really a great suprise to anyone who's used Apple products for any length of time.

  • Why can't i stream amazon instant video?

I press play, the window reloads with the original screen, and it says now playing, but nothing ever shows up.
I checked to ensure all of the system requirements were met, and even contacted amazon and ensured that all the settings were right.

If you are still using 10.6.3 use the
    Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
    It may cure your ills.

I am using my iPad and cannot stream amazon prime to the tv?
The sound comes thru but no video!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Websites and third party Apps need enabling before they will allow AirPlay of Video content. Some Website/App developers have not enabled their products, some simply haven't got around to it yet, others have stated that they won't be enabling AirPlay (likely as a result of licensing issues).
Amazon have blocked both basic AirPlay and mirroring.

  • BDP-S3100 won't stream Amazon Prime

If anyone else has had this specific problem and can shed some light I will be very grateful. This bluray player is about a year old.  We've been using it to stream both Netflix and Amazon Prime for the past year.  A few days ago we started having a problem with Amazon Prime.  When the app starts it let's me browse for a show or movie without issue.  I select what I want to watch and then it checks the internet connection.  It reports the speed to be between 30 and 40 Mbps on average.  The problem comes right before it would normally start to stream the video.  It just sits there with the little wheel spinning, usually for about a minute before the message appears - "The network is down." I have checked to see if Amazon Prime is experiencing an outtage.  When the problem first occurred it looked like maybe they were.  One website showed numerous outtage reports for Amazon Prime right after Christmas.  But currently there doesn't seem to be any widespread problem and I've not been able to stream for over a week now. My internet connection is fine.  All other wired and wireless devices are not having any issues. I have reset my cable modem and router.  This did not fix the problem. I have tried a wired and wireless connection to the bluray player.  The problem exists both ways. I have reset the bluray player to its factory settings.  This did not fix the problem. I have confirmed that I'm able to stream Amazon Prime on other devices using the same modem/router.  We can stream Amazon Prime videos on our laptops without issues. That's everything I can think of that we've tried.  I'm starting to wonder if the player has ****** out.  It's just weird that I can browse online content, meaning the player is connecting to the internet, but when it tries to stream a video it fails.

This is just my personal theory, so please take it with a grain of salt. Sony got hacked right after Christmas and that's when the trouble started.  At first it didn't make sense to me that this would be the cause because Amazon servers would be responsible for streaming my instant video, not Sony's.  But it's rumored that Sony BD devices are routing through Sony services on the way to requesting streaming video from Amazon.  If that is true (and I don't know if it is) then I wonder if Amazon put some additional security measures in place following the Sony hack.  In other words, Amazon says "ok Sony, you obviously have some security issues so we are going to put the kybosh on requests for video coming through you".  End result - Amazon Prime customers can't access streaming video through Sony's BD devices, but they can by just about any other means.  Also, Sony BD devices continue to stream other services like Netflix and Hulu, but just not Amazon Prime. Fast forward a couple of weeks - Sony develops a system udpate that allows their Amazon Prime app to comply with Amazon's new security requirements.  Sony BD device owners (like the poster above) perform the update and voila, they can stream Amazon Prime again. Again, that's just my theory.  I have not heard any of the above from Sony or Amazon.  But tonight I'm going to do the system update when I get home and see if it fixes my issues across the board.  As of this morning it was still very random.  One video willl play and the next won't.

  • Can i get amazon prime on apple tv

can i get amazon prime on apple tv

The answer is subjective depending on your view point.
Amazon prime has very little value accept for it's supposedly free movie service, so what you are really paying for is essentially a very similar service to NetFlix at a slightly higher cost, the Apple TV offers NetFlix and has a premium movie service in iTunes which most people would require in addition to NetFlix or Amazon. A hardware solution seems somewhat over the top to me.

  • Trying to stream Amazon Prime Free videos from Ipad via Mirroring to Apple TV

Trying to stream Amazon Prime Free videos from Ipad via Mirroring to Apple TV.  Trailer plays fine. Real Movie plays audio only. Some error messahe that HD video can't be played over HDMI cable.  I telling ya that 25 foot VGA cable is looking better and better.  Apple TV tech the differrence had to be done at  the time of encoding

Amazon blocks Airplay in encoding the movie. It's not the HDMI cable, or AppleTV for that matter.

  • Streaming Amazon Prime Video

I have an iPad 2 with iOS 8.1 and an Amazon Prime Instant Video subscription that I stream through the Amazon Instant Video App.  Can anyone tell me if the Digital AV cable (30-pin to hdmi) will allow me to stream Amazon Prime Instant Videos on my tv by directly connecting my iPad2?  I've heard some apps will only stream the audio to the tv with no picture.

  • HT203909 Why can't you provide specific instructions here about how to make the USB drive bootable?  The article referenced is not dedicated to Bootcamp--too long, too many options.  How do you make it bootable?

Why can't you provide specific instructions here in HT203909 (Boot Camp: Creating an ISO image from a Windows installation DVD) about how to make the USB drive bootable?  The article referenced for partitioning the drive is not dedicated to Bootcamp--too long, too many options.  How do you make it bootable?

If your BC Assistant shows the option to create a USB Installer, it automatically is marked as bootable. There is no need to have manual intervention to make a bootable USB. Once the process is manually modified, it is supported by the person modifying it.
You have two or three options (depending on your Mac Model).
    1. Create USB... - Use a USB2 flash drive, which is erased and formatted. If your Mac supports ISOs then BCA will prompt for the Media. Any Mac which does not have a built-in Optical drive will support an ISO. There are specific Mac models which support both, DVD and USB based installation.
    2. Download Software from Apple servers...
    3. Install Windows...
Are any additional instructions really necessary?

  • Why can't you answer any of my question's? I'm done wasting my time

Firefox has been a problem ever since it was installed!! It won't allow downloads, plugins, printer stopped working, getting error message I sent you. AGAIN WHY CAN'T YOU HELP ME BY AT LEAST TELLING ME HOW TO MINIMIZE ALL THE LETTERS. THIS JUST STARTED 2 DAYS AGO AND I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX IT. I'VE TRIED. WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER ANY OF MY QUESTIONS-DO YOU NOT GET IT EITHER?I'M SO UPSET W/ YOU! I CAN'T DO TROUBLESHOOTING-I'M IN THE RADIOLOGY FIELD FOR 38 YRS. I'M FAR FROM BEING A COMPUTER EXPERT!!YOU DON'T MAKE IT EASY!

I don't see that you've ever asked a question here before, nor can I see a complete question in your all caps jumble which is very hard to read.
However a couple of days ago the servers were messed up and undoubtedly questions as well as a great many answers may have been lost. So why don't you tell us in normal letter case what your questions are? Look at the bottom of the following report http://health.support.com/ and at the top of the report it looks like things are working now. We are volunteers (Firefox users like you).

  • Why can't you trim or merge (pathfinder) a gradient?

Whenever I try to trim or merge a gradient it only divides it, but when it's solid it works. Why? I'm trying to trim/merge some artwork with a lot of gradients and it's making it impossible. If anyone knows of a way to do this with gradients please let me know. Here is an image of what I'm talking about showing it working with solids, but not gradients.
    <a href='http://postimg.org/image/6oew6ezdr/' target='_blank'><img src='http://s11.postimg.org/6oew6ezdr/trim.jpg' border='0' alt="trim" /></a>

Yes I mean why can't you trim or merge a gradient object (not mesh gradient) like a solid object? Both are objects and both get split in some way without effecting the gradient itself (besides splitting the object of course). So why is it that it only allows gradient objects to basically be divided only, but not merged or trimmed.  It seems like it should work, but for some reason is treats solid objects as solid objects and gradients objects as solid objects with overprint fill applied. I really wish Adobe would address this as it doesn't make sense to clip out the gradient area if the gradient isn't required to change. What's the point of having the trim or merge if it only divides it? What's the point of leaving objects underneath the gradient? It just seems to defeat the purpose of both operations.
For anyone else following this thread the way to workaround this is by copying each gradient, pasting behind (ctrl+b) and then changing it to a solid color that is not in the design. Once you trim or merge you can select same fill color to delete the solid color from underneath and then you are just left with the gradient properly trim/merged. The bad news is this is super time intensive if you have 100s of gradients on multiple different levels as paste behind pastes only directly behind the object you had selected, so if your order is not perfect some objects will actually paste in front which you don't want.
Alternatively you could trim or merge everything and then select same fill color and then reunite each gradient, but that changes the gradient position itself so you'll have to reapply the correct angle, etc to each gradient which again is time consuming.
For all those wondering why do I need to be able to do this. I work with spot colors which have to be trapped correctly with gradients. This requires overlapping gradients and doing overprint fills to make sure they blend properly. If I trim/merge the gradient objects if puts lines through the gradient that shows up in print and makes it more difficult to apply the underlaying color correctly.
