HT4463 Recent MBP Pro Retina purchase, Garage Band "registry error". Uninstall and reinstall help.
Got an MBP Pro Retina recently, Garage Band is not working and is stating a potential "registry error". I'd like uninstall and reinstall. However, I am unable to redownload the dmg. Help?
It's ok I've done this numerous times. Drag the iLife app to the trash. Enter your passward. Now refresh MAS and you'll see installed changes to install because MAS doesn't see it anymore. You can now click to redownload that App again.
You don't have to empty the trash btw just yet, that way you can always redo the original from the trash if you really want to. Maybe that will make you feel a little easier now.

If in addition to garageband you want the full version of iDVD (if you no longer have iDVD on your Mac), then purchase iLife '09 from a source like Amazon.
In addition to GarageBand, if you do not need iDVD or, at least not the full version of iDVD, then purchase iLife '11 from Amazon.
When you install, you need to do a custom install to only install GarageBand alone, and/or install both GarageBand AND iDVD -
Recently bought pro retina 15" with a super drive. But when I played a dvd the quality wasn't very good, any suggestions?
There is a good chance that the DVD is OK and the machine is OK since a DVD's resolution is set for a television and not for a computer with a resolution 4 times that of the tele (at least).
What are you using to play DVD?
What is the DVD and what does it say on the cover about resolution or aspect ratio?
Just because you have a retina Mac doesn't mean you will get an excellent picture from low resolution media, if you are using DVD player use the menu option for 'Actual Size' this will play it at the resolution for the DVD, any larger then it will start to pixelate. -
Unable to install purchased garage band
I just purchased Garage band 11 and I am not able to install it, installation comes till 98% and then crashes.

I bought and was charged for some music. It is not in check for available downloads or the purchased file. It does show up on my view my account recent purchases. Where could this music be? I recently recovered from an iTunes problem and had to uninstall and reinstall and finally manged to get everything back to work. Except for this most recent purchase which just happens to be my son's band so I would really like to have it.

If you really need to upgrade you can save a bit of money and get an older version than the ipad Air.
First, you can sell your ipad 1 to places like gazelle.com, cashforyourmac.com, sellyour mac.com, or many others out there. The sites I listed give you cash. At this point gazelle.com is giving $70.00 for any ipad 1 in 'good' condition. And cashforyourmac will give you $25.00 over what gazelle.com or sellyourmac.com offers you. Shipping is free.
Then, with that money, go the the Apple online certified refurbished store. As an example, a new 64gb Air costs $699.00. A refurbed 4th gen 64gb costs $529.00 and a 3rd gen 64gb costs $499.00. Personally, I'd skip the 3rd gen. So if you buy a 4th gen 64gb at $529.00 minus what you can get from a sale to above, you can get an ipad 4 64gb for just over $430.00, a savings of savings of about $270.00. (A new 32gb Air is $599.00, a 4th gen 32gb is $449.00, and a 3rd gen 32gb is not on the site right now.) Google it and check if you can get better offers anywhere else. CS5.5 and OSX 10.9.4: Most applications will not launch even after uninstalling and reinstalling the Creative Suite 5.5. After my 2011 MacBook Pro 17 died, I had to purchase a new MacBook Pro 15 to replace it. Macbook Pro OSX 10.8 and Epson WF 7525 will no longer print.
It did until quite recently . However now I get filter failed and RastertoescpII and pages of items when i try to print .
Print head test sheets/head cleaning etc ok .
Have tried to to uninstall and reinstall but nothing.
Any advice, please?.

I have no problems with InDesign. It may pay to ask Adobe if it is a common problem with Lion of if they have a solution

FWIW, iWork as such is no longer available; it is now separate applications: Pages, Numbers, and Keynote.
Do you have the older (via install DVD) iWork 09 version installed? Then the new versions should show up in Updates (mac app store). -
I have a PC windows XP pro.
I purchased QT pro I had to uninstall and reinstall. When I now try to register it states that my serial number is invalid.....any clues guys.

BobI'm having the exact same problem and I am the only person who has ever been logged on to this computer to use iTunes Match. Only my wife also uses this computer, and she has never used or signed up for Match.
Interestingly, I have the same number of days listed on my error, 82 days.
Obviously, Apple has screwed up somewhere. I've put a help request in. If we cannot find a solution, we'll have to let everybody know that Match is a ripoff and that all should avoid this fraud like the plague...

I uninstalled and reinstalled iwork 09 on my macBook Pro. Now it won't open the software or any of the documents I have created. I uninstalled it because I got Microsoft Office - I was tired of not being compatible with the rest of the world. I realized after I had uninstalled the iworks that I needed it to open the files. So I reinstalled it using the CD that I had originally purchased. It installed with no problem, but will not open. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I recently tried to update iTunes to 11.1, and am now getting an error message "This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times with no success. I am running Windows XP Svc Pack 3. Help please.
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Hi Can anyone please tell me from where I can download the Photoshop CS6 program I purchased a download (media less) some 2 years ago and all has been OK up to know but I am know having issues and would like to uninstall and reinstall. Make sure you are dealing with the correct product for the serial number. If the serial number is for a full creative suite then you need to get the suite, not the individual application, and vice versa.
Unrelated to that, in case it helps, here is a link to another site. You can download the trial version of the software thru the page linked below and then use your current serial number to activate it.
Be sure to follow the steps outlined in the Note: Very Important Instructions section on the download pages at this site and have cookies enabled in your browser or else the download will not work properly.
