HT4489 how do i import Vcards from outlook to Icloud contacts

How can I import 400+ vcards form outlook and microsoft livemail to contacts on Ipad or Iphone or the Icloud

If they are in a compatible vCard format, you can import them as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfba7399f.  If they aren't, you may have to try importing them to Google contacts, then export them from Google as a vCard that is compatible with iCloud.

  • How do I import mail from Outlook 2010?

When I try to import my emails from Outlook 2010 I get the following message:
"An error occurred importing mail from Outlook
Unable to find mail to import. Check to make sure the mail application is correctly installed on this machine."

You'll need to do it from a 32bit version - Mail/Live mail do not recongise outlook 2010 64 bit.  Dropping EML files into Outlook folder has always created new messages with attachments - this is nothing new.
ETA: if you can email the messages as attachments, you can drag them from the message and drop them in the Inbox.  This obviously works best if there aren't hundreds of messages to convert. :)
There are 3rd party utilties that can make the conversion but they may not work with the 64bit version. See http://www.slipstick.com/config/convmsg.htm for a list of programs that can make the conversion but i don't know if any of them work with 64bit outlook.

  • How do I import folders from Outlook to my icloud account

I am switching from Microsoft Outlook to the icloud for email and calenders so my calendar will sync which they would do with outlook.  I have a number of folders to keep my email organized and would like to import them into the icloud mail.  Is there anyway to do this without starting over?
    Thanks for any help.
    Betz

Thank you for your reply. I was not able to drag it onto my desktop from iCloud account but I found the option of exporting the vCard which was not there earlier. I used that option to export it and import it back onto another iCloud account. Your reply did made me go back to see the options. Thanks.

  • How do i import emails from outlook 2013 on windows 8.1?

I'm using the tools: import but i get the following error after i select the type of file that i would like to import (i select outlook):
Microsoft Office Outlook. Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
I checked my windows settings. it says that outlook is the default mail client and outlook is running when i do this.
    What is wrong?

    Hi Willimo,
The main issue is to install the graphic driver software ,right ?
There are two ways to get the driver, automatically update from the windows update or manually download the driver from the manufacturer website and install it from the device manager.
Please refer to the following link :
    Download and install drivers

How do I do a mail merge from my iCloud contacts within outlook to create mailing labels for a family newsletter?  It used to be so easy before I started using iCloud for my contacts.  When I select the contacts I'd like to use for the mail merge, outlook brings up the standard dialog box to hvae me create the mail merge file, but when I click OK after checking all the right boxes, nothing happens.  Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

  • How do I import addresses from Outlook to MacBook

I recently inherited a 3 year old MacBook Pro and I want this computer to replace my old MS laptop using Outlook 10.  Any idea how to import the address book (which is first priority) and then also the old emails and calendar items that I have in Outlook?

You have to have itunes on your computer to import contacts via iTunes. the iTunes app on the iPad isn't good for anything but making purchases.
Download and install iTunes. Plug your device in and you may need to research setting it up without wiping anything out. And then under the info tab of the compuer iTunes you'll see the option to sync contacts.
If you don't want to mess with this, the only other ways to get the contacts is to explore iCloud syncing, or e-mail them to yourself, one at a time, and open that mail on your iPad and save them from there.

  • I am trying to import 1,182 vCards from Outlook 2007 to Contacts but I get a message box asking if I want to add 1,144 cards, and there is a message saying, "There were problems importing."

The biggest vCards are only 8 kb, well within the limit. Some of my vCards do have long notes.
I have tried importing in smaller batches, but I get the same problem message.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.
    Thank you!

By design, the organizer (and any other database management systems) is there to prevent you from duplicating your media files. The catalog management allows you to have the same image in different categories or albums. Duplication in different folders is to be absolutely avoided.
The same image file can have multiple tags like 'family', 'vacations', 'birthdays' and be present in three different albums with the same names. On obvious advantage is less disk space. Another one with your present folder system is that if you edit one of your duplicates, the other ones are unchanged.
I don't see an easy way to make your present folder structure simplified for the organizer ...

  • HT4910 how do i sync notes from Outlook with icloud?

Hi. Just migrated over from a Blackberry, and need to sync my iPhone 4s with Outlook 2010. I can sync the Contacts and Calender, albeit only in the iCloud, but although Notes shows up on the phone under settings, in iCloud and Outlook is does not sync or show up. Further issues are that because both Contacts and Calender are only in the iCloud (otherwise i would have duplicates of everything) the search option in Outlook will not work. In addition, the upcoming appointments viewing pane (on r/h side of emails) is also blank. Went into Apple store, and they could not help. Surely Apple and Microsoft want both products to work seemlessly with each other?

I think I solved my problem. Contacts in Outlook have Notes section. I just created another set of contacts and rename that contact group "NOTES". I copied all my notes from notes folder in outlook to this new contact group and now my notes are syncing using exchange active sync just like my regular contacts. Problem solved without any third party application.

This may be a little to late, but you sign on to icloud.com and click contacts, in the bottom right corner there will be the gear simple click that and click import csv.

  • How can I import vcard info into numbers 3.0?

How can I import vcard info into the new numbers 3.0?
To the old numbers, it is easy ;-)

If you're trying to bring in information from Contacts, another user (I'll try to find the link) posted a "hidden solution".  In Contacts select as many contacts as you want, command-c to copy, then in a Numbers sheet command-v to paste. A table is formed automatically.

  • How do I import addresses from Address Book Ver 4.1.2 to the Lion Address Book version 7.0? Mountain Lion will not allow me to open Address book Version 4.1.2

How do I import addresses from Address Book Ver 4.1.2 to the Lion Address Book version 7.0? Mountain Lion will not allow me to open Address book Version 4.1.2

Do you have any addresses in the Lion version?
If not, copy the AddressBook folder from your username/Library/Application Support/ folder on the old mac (or backup).
Copy it to the same location on your new Mac, replacing the one that is there. Start Address Book in Mountain Lion and it should convert the files to the correct format.
If you do have addresses, it is a little more complicated.
First, create a Contacts Archive (from File>Export menu). This will be your backup.
Next, export the current contacts as vCards.
    Then, follow the steps above.
Then, import all the cards you exported. If you select all and double-click, it will ask if you want to add them. You'll then have to add them to whatever groups you had set up.
