HT4489 "Invalid contact data" error BB to iOS7 import.  Suggestions?  Thank you.

Hello, thanks for taking a look at this.  I am attempting to import my contacts from my Blackberry 9670 running version 6 to my iPhone 5s running iOS 7.0.3, and I get the following error: "Unable to import vCard.  This vCard cannot be imported because it contains invalid contact data."  I am backing up only contact information from my Blackberry, and there are only 1100 contacts, well under the limits.  Your suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you.

See the attached step-by-step, very specific, detailed instruction, just as you've asked.
http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB17022
At Step 6, you will chose "One Way Sync FROM Device"
You follow the remainder of the steps as outlined.
After completed, you will return to your Sync setup as in Step 6 again and set that to Two Way Sync.
Set the conflict settings as you prefer:
Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and click on Synchronize.
Select Configure PIM.
Select the application whose settings you wish to change (for example, the Address Book application).
Select the Configure tab.
Select Advanced Settings.
Select Confilct Resolution, and select the option Handheld Wins, or which you desire to be.
I choose Let me decide because I too, like you, enter data on both the handheld and in Outlook and want to be able to tell the sync which data is correct according to my desires.
Good luck.

  • ISE 1.2 change account duration - invalid account date error

    When I tried to extend the duration of some accounts to july 2014 on my ISE 1.2 I got the invalid account date error. When I tried to extend the user to the 5th of february it worked. I  couldn't go further thant that date although I can select a date 365 days away from now.
    Is there a limitation when you want to change the account duration?
    Regards,
    Mathieu

    Hi Mathieu,
    Probably you are hitting this defect
    CSCum10047.
    This will be addressed in upcoming releases mostly in ISE 1.2.0. 899 Patch 7 which is tentatively scheduled to be released at the end of February .

  • Calendar & Contact date errors

    When entering dates in the Contacts birthday field the date dialled up and the date shown in the field are not the same, its advanced by a day. When I look in the (birthday) Calendar its correct but when I go back into check my Contacts birthday date its advanced again by another day.
    e.g, dial in 21st and the 22nd is shown in birthday field, exit contacts and re-enter same contact and now the 23rd is shown.
    I have a iPhone 3GS using os4.1 and don't sync with any other calendars.
    What's going on Apple???

    Greetings,
    I have never tried adding birth dates, but I just did for three people, and they are as inputed. I synced, shut the phone down, and accessed them several times - they are correct. They show up correct n my Macs, iPhone, and iPad - I sync through MobileMe, so everything is updated the same, and my PeeCee, running Winblows 7 Enterprise, included.
    I checked my wife's phone, and she inputs everything, and all the dates, birthdays, and anniversaries, etc, are correct. You have a very strange case indeed.
    Cheers,
    M.

  • Invalid Bitmap Data error when Flex tries to play a Crossfade transition?

    Hi All,
    I've got a Grid like this in my Flex 4 app.  When the view that contains this Grid is visible, and the view is changed to another view, my application tries to play the Crossfade effect as the transition to the other view.  My transition is defined like this:
         <s:transitions>
              <s:Transition fromState="*" toState="*">
                   <s:Parallel>
                        <s:CrossFade duration="150" target="{this}" />
                   </s:Parallel>
              </s:Transition>
         </s:transitions>
    This applies the transition to any view.  There's only one effect in there at the moment but it's in a Parallel block since I've experimented with multiple transitions.
    Now, when I'm on a view where this Grid is visible, and I try to transition to another view, I get an "Invalid BitmapData" error.  HEre's the complete stack trace:

    Here's what the grid looks like.  I experimented with adding and removing controls from the grid, and eventually narrowed it down to a a VGroup I've got in the grid.  If I remove that VGroup (and all it's children), the transition plays fine.  Add it back in, and everything blows up again.  I tried using a VBox instead of a VGroup, but there was no change--same error.  I also tried getting rid of horizontalAlign="center", and again, no change.

    So, what's going on?  How can I get this transition to work?  Thanks!

    Sometimes that can happen if something gets sized too small.
    Thanks for suggesting that.  It got me thinking about some other things, and I then realized that the Grid itself was in a container with TileLayout, and a requestedColumnCount of 5.  That was a mistake--I had initially been playing with the TileLayout for my "grid" but then switched to using an actual mx:Grid control, and should have gotten rid of the TileLayout with the requestedColumnCount of 5.
    I changed my layout object to an instance of VerticalLayout, and now the problem has gone away.
    My theory, based on your suggestion that something might be sized "too small," is that when I added enough controls to my Grid (which all appeared in tile 1), tiles 2 through 5 got "too small" and thus Invalid BitmapData errors were thrown when the transition tried to figure out what bitmaps to fade in/out.
    Sound reasonable?
    Now I just have to re-enable all the other controls that I disabled while trying to hunt down this problem, and hopefully the Invalid BitmapData error won't recur.

  • Invalid Contact Data

    I am trying to import a list of contacts that was exported from AOL Mail contacts into the iCloud Contacts file using the Safari Web browser.  I am not using the Mac Contact app since I am trying to help a family member in this effort. Any ideas on what might be causing this?
    The file is a .CSV file that I am trying to import.

    Hello iPhone is working very slow and the code error and also iTunes very slow!!pls fix it .thank you

    To get rid of "pop-up ads and other crap on my computer when I am on the internet", click on Safari in the Menu bar, and select Preferences. Next select Extensions. Delete all of them. Restart Safari.
    The first step in addressing the black screen is an SMC reset.
    Shut down the computer.
    Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
    On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
    Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
    Press the power button to turn on the computer.
    Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

  • Invalid Serial Number error installing Acro 8

    I purchased Acrobat 8 a few years ago. Hard disk crashed. Now trying to download/install on new hd. Picked the only option on "Other Downloads" screen. After download it ran. I copy/pasted my SN from "My Products" screen when prompted so no typos are possible:
    Serial: [removed by moderator - never share publicly](as shown on My Products screen!)
    InstallShield installer says "Invalid serial number". I tried many times, with and without dashes. I don't remember if I bought "Pro" version or not because "My Products" doesn't show that information. I think it's trying to install "Pro" and maybe thats the problem? But there is no option to download a "non-Pro" version! It only shows:

    Help!
    (No thank you, I do not want or need higher versions unless provided for free!)

    You should to contact Adobe Support either by chat or via phone when you have serial number and activation issues.  In this case they may at least be able to tell you if it is a version issue.  I don't know if there are any options to download a Standard version that old.  But if so, then the page to find it on would be... http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/acrobat-8-9-product-downloads.html

  • One person in my contact book cannot receive texts anymore. Suggestions?

    Hi,
    One person in my contact book (a non-iphone user) cannot receive text messages anymore. Any suggestions? The only thing done different is my nice did try to face-to-face them (by mistake). I delated the call attempt, delated the text history, even delated and re-installed the contact information. HELP!!

    Hello laurenblairf,
    Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    For more information, take a look at:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
    To resolve issues with sending and receiving MMS, follow these steps
    Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
    Go to Settings > Messages and turn MMS Messaging on.
    Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data on.
    Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Data Roaming on if you're roaming on a cellular provider network that is different from your billing provider's network.
    Make sure that you have a cellular data connection in the status bar of your iPhone.
    Go to Settings and turn Wi-Fi off. Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify that you have a data connection. Turn Wi-Fi back on to continue using Wi-Fi for other features. If your cellular data connection isn't available, follow these steps.
    Make sure that you can send and receive SMS. If you can't send and receive SMS, see the "Issues with sending and receiving SMS" section, above. MMS might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports.
    Restart your iPhone.
    Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
    Remove your SIM card and insert it again.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario
