i am trying to import my contacts to my iphone 4 from my samsung kies but it says unable to import v card, i only have about 184 contacts, can someone please tell me what i am doing wrong, thanks

IPhoto is suddenly unable to import from card

IPhoto was giving me error messages every time it read photos from my camera’s memory card. The message was that one photo (and only one photo) had an “invalid header” or some such.
So I used my camera to do a “low-level format” of the card, which you are supposed to do periodically anyway. IPhoto didn’t seem to like this, and now when I insert the card into the reader, iPhoto launches but does not offer to import the new photos into iPhoto.
However, I can see and view the photos perfectly fine in the finder, I can copy them to a finder folder, and I can open them perfectly fine with graphicconverter, so I do not understand why iPhoto is suddenly unable to import them.

Once copied to the hard disk, can you then import them to iPhoto from there?

Exporting a .vcf file from Outlook, I'm unable to import a single contact into iCloud as it says it is invalid. The file is only 2KB. I only have a few contacts in iCloud. What needs to be tweaked? Thanks.

I'm following this thread and would like to know the following: How do you delete the Synch profile on the phone? I have the 5800 and it presents two ovi.com profiles for synching. The first one does not work, but the second ovi.com profile does. I would like to eliminate the non functioning profile.

The steps described in "Help" do not fit with what I find when I try to do what they say to import the contacts
from my Address Book to my ICloud Contacts. A few time things sort of worked, but then the VCards would
not import because they somehow did not fit the criteria. Has anyone found this same problem?

Your profile indicates that you are using OS X 10.6.8. You will need OS X 10.7.2 or better in order to use Icloud and sync your contacts.

Unable to import credit card orders in R12.2.4

Hi All,
We are upgrading from 11i to R12.2.4.
Below are the 2 dcenarios we tried and both times, the order did not import with error, "Please specify credit card holder name and credit card number"
One Order without cc details. We have given the trxn_extension_id in oe_payments_iface_all.
Another Order with CC details. We have given the trxn_extension_id in oe_payments_iface_all.
Could you please let me know, if someone else had this issue and what is the remedy.
Please note that we are upgrading to R12.2.4(latest).

I exported contacts out of Outlook and want to import them to contacts at iCloud. I get an error. I exported as Vcards, CSV files nothing works

Hi,
You can import your contacts from your Outlook using iTunes. Connect yout iPhone / iPad to iTunes, then set sync contacts with outlook option. Then Sync your device.
Note: Your existing contacts may get replaced if you don't read the options carefully.

Try following this (it's slightly different that the one above):
Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup. (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer you will need the “Pro” version.) Use the app to backup the remaining contacts on your phone (from the other accounts/groups) as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself. Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section), and set this to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your Yahoo account and turn off contacts syncing with Yahoo.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the contacts from the other groups back to your phone, and to iCloud.

I am unable to import my v-cards to the cloud? they are simple .vcf files and are only about 4kb in size. I orginally exported them as vcards from Microsoft oulook and do understand there could be potential interface issues. any resolution to this??

I am unable to import new photos in iPhoto 11. Perhaps I should just reinstall from iLife disk? Will it affect my photos in any way?

I have iPhoto 11 installed on my MacBook. I am now unable to import new photos using USB or by plugging the camera directly into the laptop. Never had that probem before with this camera. Perhaps just reinstall iPhoto from the iLife disk?

Okay I will try reformating the camera's card. However all is well when I export photos to my iMac at home or onto my iPad.
If your suggestion does not work should I try reinstalling iPhoto from the iLife disk? If so, how do I go about doing that or is there a website somewhere explaining this?

Lightroom 4.2. unable to import. message files were not imported because they cannot be read

Lightroom crisis:
suddenly, unable to import images into lightroom - A window comes up that says ""Following files were not imported because they cannot be read". I was in the process of importing images - 10 images were imported from the shoot then the import stopped.
I tested the card and the card readers by using cards from different cameras and using different card readers. I was able to import the images into a folder on my desktop so know nothing is corrupted.. The memory cards are good, my card readers are good. no setting have changed in my camera. Nothing has changed in my routine. Have been using lightroom for several years.
I import through a card reader, convert to DNG and save on an external hard drive. All very ordinary.
No one I have contacted has had nor knows of anyone who has had this problem.
Unable to get in touch with anyone at Adobe.

On a quick read, it sounds like the same issue that had me dead in the water for 7 days. (LR 4.2) I tested everything - my card readers are good, the memory cards are not corrupted, tried different cards from different cameras,etc. Working my way through all my tech savvy friends and professionals, I was lucky to connect with a great sr. tech person at Adobe. After trouble shooting all lightroom possibilities (3 hours on the phone) we checked my external hard drive where all the images are stored. Even tho the external hard drive had plenty of space and "told me" that it was healthy and functioning well, Adobe had me go into the external hard drive's properties/tools and do a "check for errors. 12 hours later after the program went though the drive one file at a time, it found errors, moved them to a separate folder, and now all is functioning OK. The hard drive had not crashed nor were any images lost. As can happen after some time there must have been a scratch or similar that prevented more images from being written (or read) to the drive. Even though all is working OK at this time, I will replace my external hard drive (and it's back up external drive).just in case there are more "bumps" on the external hard drive.
My tech knowledge is limited, and I am not intuitive about anything digital, so can't add any more information then the experience I had.

Since Apple's last Update on 6 June 2014, I have been unable to Import photos from any source. I receive a message saying, Importing photos but nothing happens. When I click on Stop Import, nothing happens. I must press the On/Off button to exit iPhoto.

Since Apples last update on 6 June 2014, I have been unable to Import photos from ANY source. When I attempt to do so, I receive the message "Import Preparing to inmport..." I've waited 10 minutes but nothing happens. When I click on the icon, Stop Import, nothing happens. When I attempt to Close iPhoto i receive the message, "Photos are being imported to the photo library. Please wait for import to complete." When I click on OK, nothing happens. The only way I can exit iPhoto is to press the On/Off button.

After loading this file I was sucessful in importing photos from a web site, my camera memory card and a CD containing photos.
That is a good news. We now know, that iPhoto is working as expected, when you are switching to a different library.
But this is puzzling:
I then see a box with two Librarys listed, both have the same name except for the following and are listed as:
iPhoto Library.photolibrary but one has (default) after its name which is the one which is always displayed when I load iPhoto.
Underneath the box is written:
/Users/paulfkardian/Pictures/iPhoto Library.photolibrary
Underneath this are three boxes titled: Other Library Create New Choose
I highlighted the the File without the (default) after its name and clicked on Choose. A Library was loaded which had my photos (about 9,822) from about 7 months ago. Underneath the box is written diferently than the file always loaded and says:
/Users/paulfkardian/Pictures (original)/iPhoto Library.photolibrary
You are having two "Pictures" folders in your Home folder, Pictures and Pictures (original)? And each has a different iPhoto library - one working correctly, and one not? Do you remember, when this second "Pictures" folder has been created and what caused it? Did you restore your Home folder from a backup some time ago?

The SLT-A99V is supported by LR from version 4.2.
You do need ACR 7.2 or later for that camera, however PSE 10 only supports up to ACR 6.7 and not ACR 7.2.
Since you have LR, the best approach would be to use LR to convert the RAW to a TIF and import that into PSE 10.
Alternatively, you could download the latest DNG converter and use that to convert the RAW files to DNG files and then import the DNGs.
Out of interest, if you use LR, why do you want to import them into PSE? I use LR as my organizer and only use the PSE editor as an external editor when I want to do more complex editting - I don't need the PSE organizer.
