I had the same problem. I went to "Settings" then "iBooks". Then I went to "online content" and turned it on. Now I can open my books.

I don't know if I'm repeating my question. I can't restore my ipad after updating to latest ios. The battery went low, I had to eject and plug in to charge. The set up will not complete without resoring from icloud or itunes (i backed up to computer using itunes) or setting up the ipad as a New ipad. I want to restore all my stuff but the message I get in itune says "Find my ipad must be turned off before 'ipad' can be restored". Go to icloud settings on your ipad and turn off Find My iPad before restoring your iPad.". I cant' get to this setting on my ipad because the set up is not complete!!! I'm stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm afraid if I set up the ipad as new it will backup the new ipad over my previous backup and then I will loose all my photos, songs, aps, notes,......
I have the same problem and we can't simply just restore from the backup. It says that I have to set up my iPad through restoring. So I tried restoring it in iTunes but it won't restore until I have to turn off this **** "Find My iPad" crap but I couldn't because the set up's not complete and it won't let me go to my settings unless I set it up. So basically it's asking me to go to my settings but before I could go to it I have to restore, and in order to restore I have to go to settings. Get where I'm at?
Please, Apple Tech people! Help this 14 year old girl on her period, PMS-ing, thinking about how I want to strangle however made this mistake of a set up, updating her iPad in 3 am in the morning cursing the day she even thought of updating. I seriously need to get out of this loophole. I don't want to use my other iPad that only has 16GB. I purchased three autobooks from itunes last weekend and after updating my ios to 7 they no longer appear. I looked at my purchse history and they are not showing in my purchase history. I do have the receipts for the charge. How do I restore these?

Itunes content is not incliuded in the backup that itunes performs.
Audiobooks are not part of icloud and cannot be redownloaded.
You can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception. -

Ah yes school boy error there out of frustration and discontent..
My issue is with music/apps/films etc not downloading from iTunes / App Store.
They initially fail and message is displayed stating unable to download / purchase at this time, yet if I retry it says I've already purchased (?) or alternatively I go to the purchased section and there they are waiting with the cloud symbol..
However some items get frozen in the download window and cannot be retried or deleted. Message appears stating to tap to retry, but even if you stole every bath and sink in the uk you'd still not have enough taps.
I post here as the iTunes guys are useless in there 'help' and have only advised posting here or phoning apple, at my expense, to explain a problem that could be rectified by forwarding my original email to a techie. However the tech team apparently don't have an email address as they're from ye olde Middle Ages..!
Anyways I digress.
So I tried sync to pc, but instead of showing the file as ready to listen/use/view, the iCloud symbol shows and I'm back to square one as the item is unable to download..
At frustration station waiting for a train from pain...
All my software is up to date, and had all worked fine prior to the last big iOS update that resulted in all the changes in display and dismay.

Why after updating to iOS 5 does my application functions start up slower than before updating?
Why does my iPhone 3 seem to have slower reaction time ( starting up applications i.e. receiving and sending of sms , games apps etc) after updating to iSO 5?? Is there a update soon to correct this issue?? Friends also experience the same issue.
I guess we should ask Apple what their definition of "trickle charge" is, as that's the term the iPad manual uses - the "iPad user guide for ios 5" manual I downloaded via iBooks after installing ios5.
My MacBook Pro is a 2008, Intel duo processor.
I agree, it would be helpful if Apple would define things better! I don't find the manuals they provide all that helpful, as a rule, and usually end up buying 3rd-party publications.

I would be concerned too if my iPhone was not powering on. I found an article with steps you can take when you encounter an issue like this. I recommend following the steps below:
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

Since updating to iOS 8.1 music shuffle keeps turning off. Anyone else?
Prior to 8.1 music shuffle stayed on until I turned it off. After updating to 8.1 shuffle turns off between uses. Example, I listen to music on shuffle on my way to work, then after a day of using other apps I plug in my iPhone 5 on the way home and tap play. The music starts with the same song from the morning, but then goes alphabetical. Suggestions?
Same problem here. I play song on shuffle and without user intervention it will switch from SHUFFLE to REPEAT PLAYLIST. When I tap on repeat playlist it goes off the shuffle goes back on, resetting the song count back to 1 of ____. I can usually tell when I hear the another song from the same artist or album.

I recently update to the new ios 7 software on iphone 4. Now I have 2 app icons for facebook. Only one works and opens facebook. How do I get rid of the other? Tried deleting it out the old way but it has no "x" to take it out with?
okay never mind. I powered off and back on and the second not working icon is gone. So if anybody else has this same problem, give it a try

Why after updating to iOS 7, my apps, Internet and iMessage won't work at all....!
When I updated my iPad and iPhone 5 Internet is slow and won't work most the time even when I'm connected to wifi I don't understand and my iMessage has stoped working ...
On both devices, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Then restart your iPad and iPhone.
You will need to re enter the Wi-Fi password. -
It used to work fine, but now when you plug in to the USB, it properly identifies the head unit in settings>General>About, and the JVC unit displays album art, track info and scrolls through music fine, but no sound comes through the speakers. I've tried to reset all settings on the iPod, I've tried the reset on the head unit, even disconnected the vehicle battery and nothing changes. I can also add that my sisters iPhone 4S on IOS 6.0.1 also performs the same when connected. I've tried my Touch in the USB port of my 2010 Chevy truck and that works fine. oh, and an MP3 player worked proper with the JVC USB port.
- Try resetting the car system if you can.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However. sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility. In that case you will have to wait for a firmware update to either the care system or the iPod. -
After updating to iOS 8.02 apps no longer update
I recently updated my iPad air to iOS 8.02 and shortly after my updates stopped working. I have restarted many times but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else experienced this ? If so we're you able to figure out how to fix this issue?
I saw this too. The problem *seemed* to go away after I switched on the iPad's Settings/iTunes & App Store/Automatic Downloads/Updates. I say *seemed* because I did some other things, too, like updating the apps in iTunes, then syncing the iPad.

Logic Remote connectivity issues after updating to iOS 8 (solved!)
Has anyone else has been experiencing connectivity issues with Logic Remote after updating to iOS 8?
After updating to iOS 8 I could no longer connect so I sent a feedback report to Apple and got a response that cleared up my problem immediately:
Navigate to the following directory on your desktop system running GarageBand:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Preferences/
You can quickly navigate there using the “Go” menu in Finder -> Go To Folder (shift-command-G), then copy this path:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Preferences/
In the Preferences folder should be a file named "com.apple.garageband10.cs”.
Make sure GarageBand is not running and delete the "com.apple.garageband10.cs” file.
Relaunch GarageBand and see if you should now be able to connect.
The same can be done for Logic by navigating to:
~/Library/Preferences/
And deleting "com.apple.logic.pro.cs" and restarting Logic.
Note that doing this will fix Logic Remote connectivity issues (and possibly other problems with latency and mixer functionality) but will also delete any other Controller settings that you've configured with Logic, if you happen to be using another controller of some sort.Thanks very much! Same problem here. After installing iOS 5, restoring, and syncing... when I clicked on the music icon on my iPad, none of my songs were there. All I saw was "download music from iTunes store." But, on iTunes, when I clicked on my iPad icon (then Music), it showed that all of my songs were synced!
So, this is what worked for me, I rebooted my iPad.
I turned off my iPad by holding down the sleep button for about 5 seconds, then the "Slide to power off" came up, and I powered off my iPad.
Then, I started it up again, and clicked on the music icon on my iPad, and now all of my synced music showed up.
I hope this helps some of you guys out there.

File Uknown Error While Importing
