HT4519 Changing "Reply To" address on Ipad

I have gmail as my incoming server
I have pobox as my outgoing server
I have set up my Ipad properly so all outgoing emails run through pobox server.  The problem is the emails have the gmail email in the header.  Is there anyway to change the "reply to" email in the header.  I do not want anyone to see my gmail email.
Thanks for the help
Jato

I have a similar problem.
I purchased a domain name (we shall call it mycompany.com) and the service includes e-mail forwarding. So, anything sent to [email protected], will in fact fo to [email protected]
What I would like to do is to reply and for the reciever to actually see [email protected], instead of [email protected]
To me, the solution was very simple as to go to account information in Mail and change the e-mail address to [email protected] As it turns out, it is not as simple as I thought. Everytime I try to reply to a message with this settings, I get an error message asking me to choose an SMTP server from the list, and even after choosing the right one, the mail wont be sent.
Now, the weirdest part of all this is that with my previous ISP I used to be able to send e-mails with [email protected] with no problems at all! It worked like a charm and never had the SMTP issue.
I changed ISPs because the Cable service was getting too expensive and the tech support is horrible. Now I use DSL and everything seems to work nice, except for this little bump.
So, do you think this had something to do with Mail or is my new ISP's deal?
Thanks for your time guys!

I think that rockmyplimsoul has you covered but just in case you want to change the email address associated with your Apple ID, go here: http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/
Then follow steps in above thread.

  • How to change "reply to" address?

I have a domain host, which forwards me email via that domain (e.g: [email protected]) in to my Comcast email (e.g: [email protected]).
I used to use MS Entourage which allowed me to send email from the comcast account, but with a "Reply to" the [email protected] email, so people emailing with me would be unaware of the Comcast account.
It does not seem obvious how to do this with Apple Mail, and I can't find it in any help or discussion forums? I tried changing the email address in Mail Preferences Account Information, but the outbound email still arrives with "Comcast" in the from address...
How can I change mail to send email with my domain "[email protected]" in the Reply To, even though I'm sending via Comcast's smtp...
    Thanks!
    Mark

In the email compose window, look for the small rectangle with three lines and a triangle, next to the word Account. Click there and select Reply-To Address Field. The Reply To field will appear.

  • Change Reply-To Address

I am trying to have my .mac account always send the "from" address to another email address other than my .mac account. This email address is [email protected] and is a forwarding service. Since I move so much, I want all my email to be sent to my pobox.com address so that I don't have to worry about changing my email address wrt to the ISP I am using. I realize that I can do this through my .mac account but since I have so many people already emailing to my pobox.com account that I would like my MacMail account to show that as the "reply-to" address. I have the "reply-to" window called up and when I enter the desired "reply-to" address it still ends up at the destination as [email protected] no matter what I enter into the "reply-to" window. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for any assistance.

    You did what?
bbop, your .Mac account is your .Mac account and it must have the e-mail address associated with that account. You cannot arbitrarily create a mail account and put whatever you want in the address field. It may work with some ISPs and for some particular addresses, but you shouldn't do that.
Now, the real problem is that, if I've understood correctly what you've done, you have set up your .Mac account twice, right? Do not delete any of them until you've answered the following question: Have you set them both up using the same account type (POP, IMAP, .Mac)?
So if I understand you correctly, the from address
will always show the @mac.com address but when you
enter a different address in the reply-to window the
recipient will reply to that address. Correct?
Yes, that's correct. I've been telling you this since the very beginning. The From field will always show the address of whatever account you choose to send your mail from. You can't/shouldn't put the address of an account that doesn't exist there. But that shouldn't be a problem because, if you use a Reply-To header, what really matters when the recipient replies is the address that appears in the Reply-To header.
I still don't understand your obsession with setting the From field to an address which you cannot send mail from. What exactly are you trying to accomplish by doing that?

  • Changing reply to address in .mac account on Mail

I use Mail with .mac for email. However, for work I have a company domain name/email address which is forwarded automatically to my .mac address/account. I want to be able to send messages where the "from" and "reply to" addresses are [email protected], not [email protected] Can anyone help me set this up please?
Hope I've expressed the problem clearly, with many thanks

  • Changing "reply to" address

    Hi There,
I just got the new BlackBerry Z30  and I love it.. The only thing though is that I need to change the "reply to" address  for my email address,  as it is different from the email account that was assigned.
There was an option on my 9810 that was running OS 7.1,  under the advanced features.  But I don't see this option on the Z30 running OS 10. Is this an option?
    Thanks!

That option is no longer available on the BB10 devices. You'd have to set that up on the email account itself if the account offers that option.

  • I have had to change my email address/Apple ID. my iPad recognisIes the change of id but on my MacBook Air, iCloud just keeps asking me for a password for the old email address/account. How can I get iCloud to recognise the new details? Help please!

I have had to change my email address/Apple ID. My iPad recognises the new detail in iTunes and iCloud but when I go into iCloud through my MacBook Air, it requests a password for the old email account which I can no longer use. There is no Option to be able to change this email/ID detail as I cannot get further than the password request. Can anyone help please - this is driving me insane?!

Go to System Preferences and click Sign Out, select Delete at all the prompts, then sign back in with the changed ID?   (Your iCloud data will disappear from your Mac when you sign out and choose Delete, but will still be in iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account your data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.)

    Hello rhakim99,
    Thank you for your question.
Setting a different reply to/from address is currently unsupported for email integrations on the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone.

  • The "Apple ID Password box along with the keyboard keeps popping up on my iPad and stays there.  I have changed my email address on my iMac but my old one still remains on the iPad.  Also changed password.  Nothing works!  I can't use the iPad like this!

The "apple ID Password" box along with the keyboard pops up when I turn the iPad on and it stays there.  I have changed my email address on my iMac and also changed my password.  The old email address is still on the iPad.  Anyway, I can't use the iPad because can't get the apple id password box to go away.  Thanks for any help!

This is an older photo but the sleep and home buttons are still in the same place on all iPads. The home button is the round button at the bottom of the iPad and the sleep button is also called the on/off button and it is at the top right corner of the iPad.

  • HT204053 i changed my email address (apple id) on my pc, but now my ipad is asking me for my password with the old email address...and not accepting the old or new password.how do i change it/sync it?

I changed my email address (apple id) and password on my pc, but now my ipad mini icloud is asking me for my  icloud password with the old email address and not accepting the old one or the new one..how do i change it / sync it?

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, and your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How can I change my IP address on my iPad Air 2?

I am trying to AirPrint to an Epson WF3620, which is compatible with AirPrint.  My printer shows one IP address and my iPad shows something different.  How do I change the ip address on my ipad?  Better yet, how can I get my iPad Air2 to print wirelessly?  Epson Tech support is totally useless.  Thanks in advance for your help!!
    Vita

Your printer should have a different IP address than your iPad. That's how your router knows where to send info. You shouldn't need to change any IP addresses.
As far as the printer goes make sure you followed the setup process exactly as described by Epson. As long as the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPad the iPad should be able to print to it.
