HT4519 Outgoing Email with iphone?

My email is through Cox Cable.  Incoming mail works fine but won't send outgoing mail.  Does anyone know what the smtp for cox cable is?  In addition is selecting AT&T as the alternate outgoing server work?  My iphone service is AT&T.

how to send a group email with iPhone 5

I have a new OSX 27" iMac that is running Maverick.
RE: group emails, I am trying to omit individual recients and have tried the following options without success.
    1) Mail- Composing- checked "Automatically- Bcc"
    2) Mail- Composing- unchecked "when sending to a group, show all member addresses"
The result is that all names continue to show up with email addresses for group emails.

  • Problems sending emails with iPhone 3G and outlook exchange

I have a problem sending email with exchange. Receiving and answering mail works fine and calender updates work fine. However when I initiate an email from the phone it syncs and ends up in the sent folder in the computer but never reaches the recipient. I have tried this many times with different recipients and phones. It only happens from my iphone and ipad. Any suggestions?
    Any help much appreciated

The iPhone you returned is still syncing against your server and locking out your account. Someone possibly has access to your mail data. I'd recommend having your Exchange Administrator install the Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync Web Administration Tool (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=E6851D23-D145-4DBF-A2CC -E0B4C6301453&displaylang=en) and attempt to wipe/delete/block that other iPhone.

  • Setting up a different email address for outgoing emails from Iphone

I receive all my incoming emails to my iPhone through my @me.com account (mobileme).  This way I can have all my other email accounts set up to automatically send an email to my mobile me account which in turn gets pushed to my iPhone.  But I want to be able to respond to any email using a differnet email address so subsequent replies from third parties to my emails will not go directly to my mobile me account. (I just want to use it as push server for emails to other accounts).  So what I did is to have my incoming email server be a mobile me account.  On my iPhone I turned off the primary server "smtp.me.com" as the outgoing server and turned on an "other" outgoing server.  But here is the problem and the question.  I can successfuly send out replies using the "other" server but the address of sender on the email is still as being from my @me.com.  So how do I have a different email address for the outgoing emails even though I can use that different email address outgoing server.  Hope this explanation is not too difficult.

    Hi Steve
is Mail - Preferences - Composing - Send new messages from...
set to the required account ?

  • One email with iPhone pic attachment is received multiple times

Searched the discussions and couldn't find this one. Problem is this:
My wife takes a picture with her iPhone and goes back to her camera roll to view it. While viewing the picture, she clicks to email the photo. She sends it out to her recipients (one time!), who are happy to get the picture the first time, but not the 3, 4 or 5 times following!
Any thoughts on what the issue here is? Recipient email addresses are in both Yahoo and AOL, so it can't be blamed on the recipient email server.
Why are these leaving the outbox multiple times?
Also, no "multiple sent" issues with emails that don't have pix attached.
    Thanks! -Steve

I have this exact same problem. After trying to send an email with a picture attached, the person receives it multiple times and then i will get an error on my device, stating that the email did not deliver, when in fact it did, and keeps on sending it a few more times. Between 2 and 5 times each time i send an email with a picture. This was not happening if a picture was not attached.

  • How to hide my name when sending email with iPhone 5

when I send an email with my iphone 5, my full name shows up in the email heading. how can I hide this?

Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Tap on your email account. You can change the Name in the settings for that particular account. Where it is in settings is going to depend on what kind of email account you have. For example, for iCloud, I tap on my account name under Advanced.

  • Sending HTML email with iPhone with Exchange

Can anyone confirm the way the iPhone sends email with Exchange. We have a disclaimer that attaches to all emails. This discalimer is HTML and is processed on the Exchange server. Anything that sends via Exchange gets processed whether from Outlook Web Access, Blackberry or Outlook itself. However, the iPhone sends out its message with no signature or disclaimer. Any ideas?
    Barry

I am using Active Sync. Pop and IMAP are disabled. The disclaimer is applied by Ninja Email Security for Exchange by Sunbelt Software. The disclaimer is policy based against a users mailbox. It works with everything we have tested except the iPhone. It is like the iPhone is sending a plain text message and the disclaimer is not applied to a plain text message. However, OWA sends as plain text and it is applied as html from OWA. We are using Exchange 2003 SP2 and server 2003 SP2.

  • Outgoing emails with attachments abnormally large

Running Tiger, Mail 2.1.3, .Mac... ooops... MM Imap.. never a problem before.
Suddenly, I notice that my emails with attachments, especially large attachments, are much bigger than the sum of their parts. A good 4MB gets added to the email no matter how sparse the text is.
    Example:
7MB attachment becomes an 11MB email
    9MB in 3 attachments become a 13 MB email
Anyone know what I need to do to stop this madness? The mail's getting sent, not bouncing back, but I have not been able to confirm it's been received by the recipient.

It's the way they are encoded for transmission.

  • Gmail outgoing emails with ios7

I currently updated my iphone 5 to ios7. Since then, I cannot send any emails thru gmail (not the app but thru the mail).  I get an error message that the outgoing server smtp.gmail.com is not working. I have tried all the soultions on other support spaces (deleting and reinstalling account, using gmail thru exchange, reentering the server many times, using icloud, changing mail settings, etc.) with no luck. My incoming mail is fine. Does anyone have a solution for this?  Is it gmail or ios7?

Try this.... worked like a charm:
*On a desktop PC, log into your gmail account.
*Click the gear up in the top right corner > Settings
    *Click Accounts
*Under "Change Account Settings", click "Other Goole Account Settings"
    *Along the left, click "Security"
*Under 2-step verification, click "Manage your application specific passwords"
*It will ask for your usual gmail account password and take you to a page that says "
Authorized Access to your Google Account
*You will see a box to type in something (I just typed in iPad or iPhone) then click "Generate Password"
*It will generate a random password for you...  you will need this password Once in your iPad....
    Now...
*Go to your iPhone Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add Account>Google
*Type in your name, your usual gmail email address and for the password, type in that random one generated on your PC
It should work from there, if not follow what is below!

  • How do I transfer outgoing emails from iphone to my mac? (I have use POP3)

I have now a small trouble with my mail account. I would like to switch from POP3 to IMAP serwer, but first I would like to copy all my sent mails from my iPhone to my mac (where my phone is sync). How can I do that?

iTunes doesn't sync the actual emails, only the account settings.
So, those sent emails won't sup up in the POP email account on your iPhone.

  • Can't send email with Iphone 4.

I’ve synchronized my Iphone 4 with Outlook PC and got my contacts and calendar. I do receive emails, but just realized that can’t send any email. The error message is:
“A copy has been placed in your Outbox. The sender address “my [email protected]” was rejected by the server”  (my provider is Rogers.com).
Does anyone experienced similar problem? To synchronize my data, I’ve used Carddav type under “Other” rather using “Yahoo” or common format.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nothing to do with iCloud. Delete you account from the Mail settings and re-add.
