HT4527 Home Sharing Playlists? I exported but only the titles show up. not the songs.
Using Home Sharing, I was able to access all my music on a 2nd PC.
Using the File > Library > Export Library function, I was able to transfer my playlists too but only the playlist titles show up; no songs shown.
I know the correct files are being shared as O can play them from the main music menu on the new computer.
Both computers are PC and both have the current version of iTunes (11.1.5.5)
Any ideas? I have tried both exporting playlists individually and exporting my library as a whole. In both cases the playlist names show up on the new computer but there are 0 songs shown.

I had this problem today and posted a fix that helped me earlier today.
Try turning off home sharing on both computers and then logging out of itunes on both. Log back into itunes and turn home sharing back on. This fixed my problem. Of course this assumes all other settings are correct. Like I said i posted a step by step fix for this earlier today around 3 o'clock. good luck.

Is the iCloud status o.k. ( iCloud Support webpage)?
Did you share from your mac or from a mobile device? And where are you checking the stream? On your Mac? If you are uploading from a mobile device - is the battery fully charged? Uploading to the Photo Stream is the first that will be suspended, if the device needs charging.

Importing ProRes file - only the audio shows up, not the video?
Strange. I have a several dozen shots, Quicktime ProRes 422 HQ. When I try to import them into Premiere CS6 all the arrives in the bin is the audio of the clips. The video has been stripped. But if I play the clips outside Premiere - just double click them open and play them with Windows Media Player, they play fine.
I'm not having trouble with any other formats.
Just the ProRes. And I must have the necessary Quicktime ProRes plug-in installed, as the individual clips open and play fine.
Anyone have any ideas what might be happening?
BenI'm actually surprised that you can playback ProRes files in Windows Media Player, which normally exploits neither QuickTime components, nor reverse-engineered decoders from ffmpeg library... So as to be able to successfully import ProRes media into Adobe products you have to get QuickTime 7 installed (the latest version is 7.7.4). If your files are not corrupted and you didn't somehow install something like K-Lite codec pack on your machine, you should be good to go.

If Safari has just crashed, press the Report button on the CrashReporter dialog box to view the crash information.
Now copy/paste the entire contents of the Crash Reporter window into your reply here. If the crash report dialog does not appear or the crash is hard to reproduce, crash logs can be retrieved from the ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter> folder.
Post a crash report so we can try and help you. Make sure and include the "binary images" section.

I have set up home sharing for my music, but I can't access playlists, although I made the entire library available through 'Preferences'. Can anyone suggest a solution?
ok i actually got a id set up and allegedly home sharing is on but the thing is the ipod when syncing keeps saying it can only use one itunes library do i want to erase my songs? i do not want to erase my songs. my itunes library i originally used is on my other computer which has no more disk space to add music to and this computer the xp also has not enough disk space to put both libraries on .. PLEASE PLEASE help!

Help... Have ate in living room & bedroom & I could works fine on iPhone4 as well as ipad2 wifi. I have home sharing enabled on all but when I rented a movie it was all good & charged but the download took over 24 hours & only in the bedroom.... Please help
The remote app can either automatically find libraries available on a network (with home sharing available) or if you haven't got home sharing enabled, you can manually pair an itunes library with the remote app (using a number that is generated by the app and then typed into the itunes library).
That is why I am so confused, as it seems to be the home sharing that is the problem! -
2 atv's both have home sharing enabled but one asks to turn on home sharing on my pc, but it is enabled on pc so I can only use one at a time to watch movies from my computer
Both atv,s are on the same network, they are wirless and the computer can see them and they are named different.
what ever one i switch on first gets to stream from my computer and the other one asks for home sharing to be switched on, then if i switch both off and start the other one first it gets to stream and the other one which worked asks for home sharing to be turned on. i have hidden all functionality, netflix etc as these are for my 7yr old kids. -
Cannot home share the game app purchased at iTunes store. Home sharing music works. Home sharing books works. But, when I try to copy the game app, it says my computer is not authorized. What am I doing wrong?
I've been struggling with a similar issue myself and just figured it out. Some of my content had been purchased with an older Apple ID that I don't use any more. When I authorized my second computer, I only authorized it for my new Apple ID, not my old one. When I tried to copy my library to the new computer, many songs, apps, etc. reported the error "could not be copied because this computer is not authorized". It drove me crazy because I knew the computer was authorized and much of my library came over just fine.
Finally I selected some of the problem items, selected "Get Info" from the menus, and saw that they were all purchased by my old Apple ID. I then authorized my old Apple ID on my new computer, and all of my files are copying correctly now.
Would be great if the message said something like "...because this computer is not authorized for Apple ID [email protected]" -
I am trying to import songs to my new macbook pro from my old computer using home sharing. Both computers say that home sharing is now on but neither show up in each other's library menu. I am logged on with the same apple id for both computers. and both are on a stable wireless connection
Logging into itunes store on each machine wth different Apple IDs is OK Autorising each others machines with the other Apple ID is OK. This is completley separate from Home Sharing
For Home Sharing to work you need to
File > Home Sharing > Create Home Share.
You need to select one of the two Apple IDs you are using and ENTER THIS ON BOTH MACHINES WHEN CREATING THE HOME SHARE.
Home sharing will then work -
I'm trying to share my libraries on different PCs. I have turned Home sharing on in "File", but if I try choose the sharing tab in "Edit", "Preferences", It says Bonjour needs to be activated. Where do I do this?
Try updating iTunes on your PC. Hopefully it'll re-install or fix the Bonjour issue.

I'm using the correct APPLE ID and password for Home Sharing on my computer but my AppleTv is not accepting it? What's up with that???
I have the exact same issue. I also tried resetting my password. I can log in to iTunes on my laptop with the new password, on to my iPhone iTunes, but my Apple TV says it cannot recognize my password. I just did an Apple Tv software update a few days ago.
I am able to log in to Netflix on my Apple TV just fine. I did not have to re-enter my password for that.
Very frustrating. I hope Apple can figure this out soon and post a fix.

I want to set up home sharing on a laptop (nothing on this iTunes library apart from the purchases from the iTunes store made on my ipod touch) but it won't let me. Error code (-3252) comes up. Please help.
What version of iPhoto?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -
I am trying to transfer all my songs (1400 of them) from my old laptop to my new MacBook Pro. I thought I could just pop in my appleID and it would all appear! I have iTunes Match and thought that may help. None of this seemed to work, so I started the Home Transfer. Then it looked like my iTunes Match was allowing me to access my songs so I cancelled the Home Transfer. Now I'm stuck with only 349 of my songs but when I tried again, my old laptop only has that same 349 songs on the Home Sharing option too. So it seems I can't get the rest on!
I am not very techy and very confused!

Frankly, the only thing that should need to be done it restore the iTunes folder from the backup onto the computer. There is no reason to add or import anything. -
I have two imacs, each with multiple accounts. The itunes source data (music videos etc) is stored in the shared area of one imac. What is the best way of keeping each account on each imac up to date with any changes/additions in the source data? I felt that Home sharing could be a solution, and it works well by import the library onto the second mac and I can also see if there are any changes by using the "Show items not in my lbrary" function. However, this only works well for one account on the second mac, for the other accounts it will re-import and duplicate the data .
Locate them in the Windows Explorer, move or copy those files as you would any other, and drag them into the open iTunes window when the second library is loaded. If you're using two iTunes libraries on one user account, you only need to locate the files; otherwise, they need to be put in a shared area.

Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
