HT4527 how do I deauthorize or deactivate old computers that I no longer have?

how do I deauthorize or deactivate old computers that I no longer have? When authorizing anew computer, a message appeared that I had 4 of 5 computers activated on my home sharing network. How do I deauthorize/deactivate the computers I no longer have?

If you no longer have the computer(s) you want to deauthorise,
Log in to iTunes,  go to "view your account info" on the itunes store,  deauthorise all five, (Please Note: this can only be done Once every 12 months)  and then re-authorize your current Computer(s) one at a time.

  • How can I deactivate an old computer that I know longer have?

How can I deactivate an old computer that I know longer have? I own two computers and Adobe permits two computers on a subscription. However, when I bought my third new computer and didn't deactivate my old computer, I did not notify Adobe. Now, there is a message saying that I must deactivate the old computer to register the new computer. I don't know how to do this. Can anyone help?

You cannot yourself deauthorize a computer that's not working or to which you no longer have access. You can authorize a total of up to five systems, so unless you've hit that limit it's probably not really important that you deauthorize your dead unit now. Once you reach five total authorizations, a button will appear in your iTunes Store account that will allow you to deauthorize all your systems, so that would at that time recover the now-useless authorization.
If for some reason you really feel you need to deauthorize a system and you're not at the five-system limit, you can try contacting  the iTunes Store customer support department through their Contact form (follow the on-screen instructions)  and explaining the problem to them. They might be willing to clear your authorizations for you.

    Most Windows users don't.
Purchase an external hard drive and use the backup software that comes with it to backup files from your computer.
Buy TouchCopy and install it on your new computer, connect your old iPod and transfer your songs to your computer.

Go to your account in the iTunes Store and look for the De-authorise All button in your account's details. Use the De-authorise All and then authorise the PCs you still have.

  • TS2972 How do I deauthorize computers that I no longer have?

How do I deauthorize computers that I no longer have access to?  It's been a long time since I first started using iTunes and didn't think to deauthorize a computer when we took it out of service, or it crashed and then we couldn't take it out of service if we wanted to. So, now that I have a new MacBook, I want to authorize it with my iTunes account and the only option to deuthorize a computer is "deauthorize all" - or deauthoize from the actual computer (which I no longer have due to it crashing, etc..)
So, part two of my question -- if I have to choose "deauthorize all" will it affect anything in my current libraries?  I'm hoping I can just "deauthorize all" and then go to the specific computers I have now and reauthorize without losing any music, etc.  Is that a correct assumption?
    Thanks!

  • De-Authorize old computers that I no longer own

I'd like to de-Authorize a few old computers that I no longer own. iTunes says that I have four while I only have two. One was sold, one has a new motherboard so iTunes thinks that it's new and the old motherboard no longer exits.

Read the fine print in the linked article: "The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than 5 authorized computers, or if you have used this option within the last 12 months."

it will be there once you reached the limit of five authorizations.

I no longer have my "5" computers...  Crashed, Died...  How do I deauthorize without possession?

De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

I just bought a new Macbook Pro and Itunes is not letting me authorize it for use because I have 5 computers authorized including old iphones I no longer have and an old computer that is broken.  How do I deauthorize computers I no longer have?

If you've got 5 computers authorised for the account in question, and you need to free up authorizations, I'd do a "Deauthorize All" from one of the computers you have access to, and then reauthorize the computers you have access to.

  • HT202213 Is it possible to obtain songs that I purchased several years ago, on an old computer that I no longer have, to my new Mac and iPhone?

I was looking at my itunes account today and I noticed it keeps a record of all my purchased songs from my itunes account.  I'm wondering if there is any way to get those songs from as far back as 2004-2011 which I purchased on about 4 old computers (none of which I still have) on my current Mac and iPhone?

Yes. Go to the itunes store Click on Purchased in the Quick Links section.
Select what content you want and click the cloud icon by it to download at no extra cost

  • I need to deactivate Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 for mac on two computers that I no longer have access to.

    How do I do that?

    Hi ,
To deactivate Acrobat from your machines ,you could simply uninstall the software from both the computer and it will automatically deactivate the software.
The second option to deactivate the product is to connect with the Adobe support .They could guide you on how to deactivate the software from your end or would do it from their end .
If you wish you could refer the following link to connect with them .
