Does anyone know how to transfer about 1 TB of pictures from my old pc remote hard drive to my new 4 TB remote harddrive on my Mac. I would like them to go directly from remote hard drive to remote hard drive without them clogging up my computer.
ThanksConnect both drives to the Mac and drag from the old to the new.
I have no idea if it will "clog" up your Mac. It will likely take quite a while (6 + hours on USB 2.0).
You might want to break it up in batches, or run it overnight. -
hi, my pc got stolen and i would like to ensure my itunes from it can't be used by whoever has my computer now. what should i do?

My old computer is dead. My iTunes library is stores there. Are there any solution to transfer it to a new computer?
Depends how it died. It may be possible to extract the hard drive from the old computer, mount it in an external drive bay, then copy the iTunes folder across. If you have an iPod or iOS device see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device, if not see Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

My I-tunes musics (puerchased and reeorded) were on an old computer that I am changing. How do I transfer all my musics in my Ipod to my new computer?
- You can move the music from the old computer to the new computer by:
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer
- You can transfer iTunes purchases from the iPod to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- If in the USA 9iCloud) you can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- For non-iTunes purchased music you need a third-party programlike one of those discussed here:

I would like to transfer my contacts from an old computer to new one both on Thunderbird
Got a new computer and I just wanted to transfer all the contacts in my address book from there to my new computer on Thunderbird rather than painstakingly doing it one at a time! Can I import them all?
I think I should clarify a bit more... Both my old computer and new computer have Thunderbird on them. I just want to "magically" get all my address book contacts from the old computer and older version of Thunderbird to the new computer and newer version (I assume) of Thunderbird. Is this possible? I am not REAL computer literate so the directions (if there are any) must be easy to understand.
Thanks -
Duplicating the set-up of iTunes stored on an external hard drive to a new computer
I need some help setting up iTunes on my new computer. Currently I run iTunes off my hard drive with my itunes folder on an external hard disk(E:) (to save space on my main hard disk). The itunes >Advanced>iTunes media folder location setting = E:\itunes and everything works great. I am getting a new computer and want the same set-up. Can someone help me with a procedure to do this? Is it as simple as, 1) Down load itunes on the new machine. 2) Plug in external hard drive E:\. 3) Set Advanced>iTunes media folder location setting = E:\itunes? What about other saved preferences, etc?
It won't quite work as you suggest. Your library database is still somewhere on your C: drive. Changing the location of that preference only controls where iTunes will put new media. A new empty library won't magically find any media that might be there and even if you import it, playlists, ratings etc. will be lost. If you have any Apple devices iTunes will detect the "new" library and want to wipe them out.
Do the following:
With iTunes closed, copy the contents of C:\<Users>\<Users's Music>\iTunes to E:\
Hold down shift and click the icon to start iTunes. Keep holding shift until asked to choose or create a library. Choose the library file at E:\iTunes Library.itl.
Check your stuff still plays.
Close iTunes. Rename E:\iTunes as E:\iTunes Media. Start iTunes, test it again.
Close iTunes. Create a new folder called E:\iTunes. Move iTunes Media and all the files/folders you originally copied into E:\ into E:\iTunes.
Shift-start iTunes again, now opening E:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl.
Check your stuff still plays.
Your library is now portable, connect it to any computer running the same build of iTunes, shift-start iTunes to connect to it and it will work.

Any help is appreciated on how to unlock an iPod touch that has no screen. All I want to do is transer her apps/pics/music to her new iPod touch.
- What happens when you connect the iPod to its syncing computer and try to transfer purchases and other things? Error messages?
- Try resetting the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- I know of nothing else to do without erasing the iPod. -
I have a tower running windows XP, using Firefox 3.6.23. I have a new laptop running windows 7. I have just downloaded firefox 7. Now I want to bring the bookmarks form my old tower computer using firefox 3.6.23 to the new laptop using firefox 7.0. I got the instruction on how to sync the two computers, but I cannot find the sync tab under options in the firefox 3.6.23 computer. Will upgrading the tower's firefox to a newer version give me the sync tab under options?
With firefox 3.6 I think you may have had to use sync as a separate add-on. If so try finding and installing that. Alternativly export your bookmarks from Firefox 3.6, then move that file, using any suitable method (eg removable media, email atacchment, computer network) to somewhere the new laptop can access it and imprt the bookmarks. Remember
* back up your bookmarks (on both machines) before doing anything
* importing standard firefox bookmarks overwwrites existing bookmarks
* (if you just have a few bookmarks on one machine, consider exporting as HTML, when you import those they will append, instead of overwriting the existing files)
See

my new Macbook Pro does not have idvd and my old one has, so would like to transfer my idvd from my old mac to my new one. Can i do that? and how? thanks.
Right, I finally managed to get it sorted out.
iCloud only accept version 3.0 vcards, and the one I was using were version 2.1 so that's why it wasn't picking it up. So the easy way to get that sorted out is, use a gmail account.
I know you don't wanna do it because you think it's too much hassle and stuff, but trust me it only takes 5 minutes and that's it.
1. Create a Gmail Account.
2. Export your Old VCard files to the Gmail Account.
3. Now Import them from Gmail to your PC again.
And, that's it, that's just makes the new imported version in 1 file contains your all contacts in version 3.0. Now you can just upload that on icloud and then sync it with your iphone.
That's what I did and it worked, and I am sure if you wanna replace this file in the Contacts folder under your User Account in Windows and then try to sync Contacts in Tunes, it should work, but as I said, I did it with iCloud and it worked for me. So aye, that's pretty much it. Phewwww..
Been searching for it for the whole day and it took 5 minutes in the end, badass...
Anyway, don't lose hope and always Google for everything! -
I would like to transfer all data from my iPod classic to my new computer with windows 8.1. My old computer's cpu died. Utilizing iTunes which only allows iTunes albums purchased at iTunes store. The cd's were loaded via iTunes originally.
Install disk drive from old computer in an external enclosure.
Then copy the complete iTunes library from the disk drive to the disk drive in the new computer. -
I have burned numerous cd's onto my old computer. Many of these songs cannot be purchased on Itunes (Garth Brooks for example). My old computer died and now I can't transfer these songs from my ipod onto my new computer. How can I retreive my data?
What options do you have enabled from under your iPod's Summary and Music tabs for syncing preferences?

I lost my photoshop elements 7.0 serial number and i had not had it registered so i can't get it back. My old desktop broke and i would like to install photo shop on my new laptop. How can i get it back?
I would first go to your Adobe Account and make sure that all info in it was correct and then match up all S/N's with your records. If you find any problems, then make corrections.
If all matches, but does not work, contact Adobe and see if they still sell replacement DVD's for CS2. Adobe usually does, for a small price. Still, you will need your correct S/N, so you will probably be back on the phone to Adobe. When I once used them for a S/N problem, they were quick and did a perfect job.
Good luck,
Hunt

Adobe Media Encoder Produces No Video -- Audio Only
