I upgraded to a new phone, and when I backed it up from itunes the text messages were not there. How do I retreive them from my old phone?

I might have omitted another requirement - sorry.
You need the same number, and you have it. I think it also has to be with the same cellular carrier.

HI, I recently upgraded my operating system IOS 5.0.1 on an iphone 3gs. My question is, how do I get the text messaging preview to just pop up so that I can see the name only when the lock screen is on? The conventional ways of doing this, such as using turning off the SMS preview under the "passcode lock", well that option no longer exists, or if it does, I'm somehow missing it.
When I go to the "messages" setting under settings on my phone, I still don't see an option of turning it off.
If I can just get the name of the person sending the message, as I had it before, I'd be happy.

I accidently synced my phone to my dads itunes account, so when he went to 'backup' his phone, he got all of my photos and text messages. How do I get his text messages and photos back?

When I first got an iPhone, I didnt have my own iTunes account. So in turn i used my Dads. Well being unaware of what i was doing, I synced my iPhone to his account. Well a couple of months ago, i started using my moms apple ID to buy things in the app store, and i started recieving her text messages. Now my dad, has plugged his phone into his itunes account and has synced it and has all of my photos, his contacts are still there, but he has all of my apps, all of my text messages and has all of my photos. What can i do to get his things back? And stop getting my moms text messages. I really would like some help on this please Thanks!!!

How do I get my text messages from my android fascinate to my htc one m8 windows phone....???

just purchased and received the new htc one...was using a samsung galaxy s for a few months before my contract ran out...my original nokia lumia 920 died and I reactivated the galaxy....now I have the text messages from october and earlier but I can't seem to get the 3 months of text messages that are on the android.....there is no cloud or transfer app (by verizon) for the new phone...only the old galaxy has the apps...go figure, I could get the app for my old phone but not the new phone...lol

Transfer My Data doesn't work to grab them from your Android phone? That bites... I thought that was a fairly new app for Windows Phone that was supposed to make it easier. I had to take old texts and paste them into Word to upgrade from Windows 7.8 to Windows 8. Tedious, but when you gotta save em... hello, i am trying to get rid of some wunwanted contacts in my iphone, when i am bout to send a message i go to the "TO:" and i type in any letter, a suggested name& number pop up. how do i get rid of it, even tho that contact doesnt exsit in my contacts anymore?

The only way to do that is to restore the phone as new (not from back up).

How do I get my synced messages to delete on both iPhone and iPad when they're deleted on one or the other?

I have my text messages synced between my iPad and iPhone. When I read them on one device and delete them they do not delete on the other. Is there a setting I can check to make the 'delete' action sync as well?

This should work automatically. Try turning iMessage off and back on again on both devices
