I am no longer able to download FREE apps. It pops up saying I need to verify my banking information. When I go to my banking information, it tells me it's wrong, and I know it's not. HELP!!! I can't download ANY apps - FREE or otherwise! What is going on???

Is it possible the expiration date for your credit card recently changed, or you got a new card with an updated authorization code? If nothing has changed recently in Settings > iTunes & App Stores, click on your Apple ID, go to billing information and delete the card, re-enter it, save and try again to download apps.

Actually It doesn't. It says he's on a MacBook. I don't know all the different types of Macs. I was having a ton of problems with iChat. I opened DMZ to my computer, knocked down all firewalls etc and left everything exposed, still with bad results. A few weeks ago my power supply went out on my D-Link. I bought a linksys. Since I'd left all firewalls off I figured it couldn't be the router. I power cycled everything n the netork, still no luck. Today I bought a universal Power supply and started up my D-Link Router. Everything worked perfectly. My wifes computer - a laptop running Tiger worked fine with the Linksys and did my machine before the Leopard upgrade. Now that I've got the D-Link online everythings working.

When you set up your Apple ID, did you enter a credit card? That's usually all you need to do. Even for free apps. Also, the credit card need to be issued in the country of the App Store you use. Now, there is a way to set up an Apple ID without a credit card, but it's (IMHO) a good idea to have one on the account incase you ever do want to purchase a paid for app, or want to make an in-app purchase. I've had a CC tied to my Apple ID for several years now. Not once have I had a charge that wasn't mine or any billing issues whatsoever.

Read the steps carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
You will of course not be able to get anything other than the free apps without entering in some sort of payment method (credit card, prepaid iTunes card, gift certificate, etc.)

If you can you can choose the None option and only put the card info in when you want to buy something. It also makes your account less suceptable to hackers as there is nothing that they can use to buy anything.

The iOS version is not updated automatically, though if he connects it to his computer's iTunes (if it's a recent enough version) he should be prompted as to whether he wants to update.
He should connect the iPad to his computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to his computer via File > Transfer Purchases. He may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. He can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
He can then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

You can only access the Store of that country your account is registered for. Did you buy the apps using the same account? If you have a billing address registered in Australia, you can't buy in the US Store.
Can you update the apps in iTunes on your computer?
Did you log into your iTunes account and check your info?

In the blink of an eye, both Thunderbird and Firefox have BOTH STOPPED connecting to the Net. let me share with you what I have done... and what has been unsuccessful this far.
System & Software Pertinents..
Windows 7 x64 System running a i7 Intel CPU, with 8 GB of RAM and a 500 GB Drive.
Thunderbird is Version 24.2
Firefox is Version 27.
Here are the specific things that I have done, POST problem, to try and solve..
A) Check firewall settings... BOTH programs are cleared for Bit Passage
B) Check Anti-Virus.... Anti-Virus Disabled.. UNINSTALLED and Registry Cleaned.. still has the problem persisting..
C) Deleted and Reinstalled Thunderbird & Firefox Working Directories (without deleting User Profiles)... Problem still persisting..
D) Created NEW Profile with Profile Mgr in Firefox.. no go...
E) RAN WHOLE System VIRAL/MALWARE Check... .. No infections..
F) FRESH REINSTALLS of Thunderbird and Firefox... NO go...
G) Checked Processes using ENUM and DNS Checks... both check out fine!
H) OTHER browsers connect... OPERA.. Chrome and IE even... Also, Sea Monkey... but not Firefox.
In TRYING to create an e.mail account, Thunderbird's Account Creation interface sits there attempting to connect... no connection achieved...
Any help that you can offer is appreciated!!

Not able to download free apps

Every time I try to download a free application, I enter in my apple password. Then it tells me that I have to verify my payment. I have updated my payment information over 5 times. I still get the message saying that Paypal is not supproted on this device. To manage or change your payment methond to the the Itunes store on your computer. You must verify your payment info before you can make purchases.
I have uploaded/redeemed an Itunes card and I have a 9 dollar credit. I have contacted the support and I still am unable to download.
I don't have a Paypal account either/

I'm having the same problem with a Mac Pro desktop and it started after I upgraded to 10.7.5 . Exact same issue , Crashes for no reason ( very little running - mail,browser) then reboots. Sometimes it does multiple reboots.
I hate to say it but it's tiumes like this that I envy the Microsoft's approach to updates, if it is bad (which is not unheard of) you can go into programs and remove the last update. It would be nice if Apple implemented this since their quality doesn't seem to be what it once was.

MPEG-4 is the normal format, when your dvd-player can't read it, download "Miro Video Convrter"
(it's for free in the mac appstore)
Drag the MPEG-4 or the Quickime Movie into the box on the top and convert it as MP4, thats a "very"
normal format. It will be saved in the same folder you've got the original.
Drag the MP4 video onto your dvd and burn it. Than it should work.

You have an iPad 1 which cannot be upgraded past 5.1.1.
See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and what you can upgrade to.
