HT4528 I have two iTunes account.  Is there a way of merging the two accounts.  The original account was created several years ago prior to purchase of an iphone. How and where do I go to check my credit card information?

I created an iTunes ago several years ago under this email: At this time I did not own an Apple product. All songs purchased and downloaded were in my lap top.
When I purchased my first iPhone...another iTunes account was created under the iPhone ID:
There is NO ONE that can help or assist me. IF instructed properly and correctly...I can maneuver thru my systems.  I would like to combine the two accounts. Is this possible?  There is NO logical reason to have 2 accounts out there...
I am upgrading to the iPhone 5s on the 20th of this month...Can someone please help me move all information?
Also, I need to know how to check/review the credit card information in my iTunes account in my current iPhone 5. Not able to make purchases....AND there is cash in my account.
Not difficult questions...just need someone to take the time to help me.

    My emails and factime are on one account (i.e. my MobileMe account) and my Apple ID (i.e. imessage, itunes, app store etc) is on another account. I primarily wanted to make my MobileMe account my iCloud account, however I had to create a new account to do so, so I made a hotmail account because it didn't work again with MobileMe.     You can't merge accounts or transfer iTunes purchases from one Apple ID to another: but there is no problem about using two IDs.
    Use your iCloud ID for iCloud for syncing email, contacts, calendars, bookmarks, and PhotoStream.
    Use your other Apple ID as before for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match.
    There's no conflict about doing this, and you won't even notice as Keychain will log you in with the correct ID in each case. It's also better security not to have your iTunes login also your email address, given the number of complaints about hacked iTunes accounts.

  • In Itunes 12 is there a way to view search results in the playlist view rather than the drop down menu?

    When searching for a song title, an artist etc in Itunes 12 it shows the results via a tiny consolidated drop down menu, however in previous version of Itunes search results would be displayed in the main playlist view. I seriously dislike the search drop down view because A) it only shows limited results B) It shows artwork C) It is confusing when trying to search your playlist when you are trying to organize your library.
    If anyone knows a way to change the search view preference please let me know how or advise me on how to suggest to Apple that they change it back or give people the option to choose which search result view they would like to use.

    If you disable the Search Entire Library option (available in the dropdown to the left of the search box) iTunes 12 will not show the search results in a dropdown but will immediately go to a filtered version of your current view.  With the Search Entire Library option enabled, you can still get to this filtered view by clicking on the first entry in the drop down, which will say "Show <search string> in Library" or "Show <search string> in <playlist>" depending on where you start the search from.
    There are some inconsistencies in the search behavior, most notably that where you have the Search Entire Library option enabled and search within a playlist the dropdown will show all matches in you complete library (whether in your playlist or not), whereas the first entry in the dropdown just takes you to the filtered playlist view.
    You can use https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html to provide input to developers about bugs, enhancement requests, etc.

    After migrating from my old Powerbook G4 with 1 user account, to my new MacBook Pro, which started out with one account when I began the migration, Now I've got 3 user accounts on the new MacBook Pro. I can't recall the exact message, but the migration assistant required that I set up two different usernames in the process of moving my files to the new computer.     I need all my music and photos, huge collections. I have tried to use the migrated accounts, but would like the iCal and contacts to sync, and am nervous about losing all the work I've put into those 2 applications when it overwrites or merges. The sync function isn't allowing me to choose to sync via mobile me for some reason. This would have been easier of course when the computer was brand new, before I'd used the computer at all.
    there is definitely no way to merge accounts automatically. just copy what you need from two extra accounts to the main account you want to use. You can then delete the other accounts if you want. I don't really understand what your problem is anyway. why don't you just use the migrated account? it should have all your user info. what is it exactly that you need from the other two accounts?

    If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
    First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
    Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
    If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
    At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
    If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

    I just realized that I wrote that I installed from app store originally, but I must correct that statement. I never paid for the app so it must have come preinstalled on my 2011 iMac. I was confused since the update is through the store so I assumed I downloaded it. Sorry for any miscommunication.
    So to be clear, even though I have never remotely administered / accessed my computer and I no longer have ARD on my computer, it is normal to have the client update appear in my App Store. Is that correct?

    Yes, it's frustrating.
    I don't have my iPod with me but, as I recall, the change is done in Settings/Store.  That change will apply to NEW purchases.  However, be aware that all purchases are permanently associated with the Apple ID that was originally used.  Generally, it's only a problem when you need to update an app.  IF you do your updating from iTunes and your logged in to the "wrong" ID, you'll need to log out and back in again.  It's easier from the iPod as you do not need to log out/in but you do need to know the password.
    Unfortunately, you can not merge IDs nor can you transfer purchases from one ID to another.  Go here to find out exactly what you have.  I have the same problem so I deliberately made both passwords identical to make things slightly easier for me.
