If you opened the phone, you've rendered your phone unsupportable. The iPhone is not user servicable and Apple does not sell iPhone parts.

  • Dual 1.8 G5 Dead - anyone know of discount logic boards?

My G5 dual processor died on me. At first I was told it was the power supply, and i got a new one. It worked for two days and then died again. Now I'm told it's the logic board, which, installed, costs over $900!!
Has anyone had this kind of experience, and if so, where can i find a logic board that does not cost more than a brand new laptop!?!

Unless you are a real hardware GURU and have lots of time ant pateince doing a G5 motherboard swap is not for the faint of heart.

Without a backup, the use of iTunes or the use of iCloud, your only choice is to restore the device as new to remove the passcode.

just now i replace the 5s mother board but could not work touch id pls help me.....

if you have replaced the logic board on your phone, by yourself then that is considered modification  and can cause other parts to fail due to ESD issues or just damage from handling parts

my iphone 4s was working fine then it just turned off and wont turn back on but my home button dosent work what do i do?

Apart from the battery being dead (make sure by plugging into a power source for 15 minutes), hold the sleep/wake button and home button together for 10 - 20 seconds or until the apple logo appears.

Those are hardware issues. You can try all of the software troubleshooting if you want. Restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. If that does not work, then your only option is to pay someone for something. The decision is up to you, but I've provided the options.

  • How's your Mid 2010 MacBook Pro doing after changing logic board due to BSoD?

    After this very long discussion:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15665312#15665312
In which a lot of people had BSoD problems after upgrading to Lion, and then have solved the issue by having the logic board replaced, I'd like to ask, specially for those who have done it earlier, a few months ago or so: did you have any problem with your 2010 MacBook Pro 15" since then?
I'd like to know it because, by reading that thread, I have reasons to believe that the problem may arise again after some time.
I had the same issue with my MBP, but I'm still on Snow Leopard. I had the logic board replaced more than once (actually 3 times), and everything is ok since then.
Now I've been pushed to upgrade to Lion so that I can continue using iCloud. So i'd like to know what are my chances of going into that nightmare again.
    Any info will be appreciated.

    Greetings,
I've never heard of this issue - I have two MBP Mid 2010, and both are running Lion with all updates, and there are no issues of any kind. One of the graphic shops I work with has 15 Mid 2010 MBP, all running Lion, and there are no isues with them.
We use a lot of high end software, but no games, of course, just business and graphics apps. There have been no issues with Mail, Calendars, Addressbooks, etc, except for wanting a few more features, here and there,
which we will get in time.
Bad apps are the usual culprit, when there are problems with Macs, and they are not always easy to locate, so I just reload from scratch, and thet will usualy fix a lot of ills, if the normal troubleshooting tools don't resolve the problem. Fortunately we have had very very few issues with our Macs going back to the late 90s, and earlier - they just work, and work.
Try a reload if you have troubles.
    Cheers,
    M.

  • How do I know if the logic board is bad?

So the girlfriend dumped a slew of water on her 20 gig 4th gen photo. I've completely disassembled it and THOROUGHLY dried it out and all seems well from that perspective.
So here is what is happening:
    - if I plug it into my PB it does not respond, nor does it start to charge
    - if I do a "restart" (menu + center button) with it unplugged I get the exclamation point with the battery (low battery indicator)
    - if I do a "restart" while it is plugged into the laptop, I get the lightning bolt with a battery (battery is too low to be recognized by computer)
    - if I plug it into the regular AC charger, I get the same results
    - if I try to "restart" again, the screen goes blank and then the lightening bolt comes back eventually
I opened it up again and took a volt meter and measured that the battery is still good; I get 3.8V I think or something like that from the red and black wires of the battery. Plus this thing is only like 8 months old, so I know the battery isn't bad.
This leads me to believe that the logic board is bad b/c that is what the battery plugs into. The screen must still be ok b/c it looks fine.
So does anybody have any ideas?

OK, so I have answered my own question. I ordered a logic board and put it in. So I know the logic board was bad.
However, now I'm pretty certain the hard drive is bad too as it just spins but won't do anything. I don't even get the folder with the exclamation point- just the big apple like it is booting up.
So I'm looking for a hard drive unless someone has a better idea???

  • Change logic board - MacBook Core Duo

    Hello,
I would like my MacBook1,1 to run Yosemite (or Mountain Lion). I have to change the processor, but I saw when I tried to remove the old processor, that it was impossible to remove it ! I have to change the logic board, but which one is compatible with my MacBook equipment (battery connector, AirPort, BT, Keyboard, case...)
    Please help me,
    MB11

A word of advice: Purchase a newer used or refurbished Mac computer fully capable of running OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, and preferably with 10.8 already installed, so you can see how the system performs.
The oldest compatible models for OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion are listed by Apple here:
System requirements for OS X Mountain Lion
You can always choose to install the free OS X 10.10 Yosemite upgrade later.
    https://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade/
Instead of buying random parts that might not even work together, save your money until you have enough to purchase a complete newer Mac system that was designed for the newer operating system. While the absolute minimum RAM specification for Mountain Lion, Mavericks, and Yosemite is 2GB, they will run MUCH better with at least 4GB RAM.
Trying to convert a 7- or 8-year-old computer to run a current operating system is a huge waste of money, time, and effort. Parts for old MacBooks are expensive. There are many minor changes between models that appear to be the same on the outside, making it nearly impossible to put just one part from a newer computer into your older case. The "unibody" white MacBooks from 2009 and newer that WILL run Mavericks and Yosemite are VASTLY different inside than your MacBook 1,1. There are multiple reasons why Apple chose not to extend backward compatibility to Mac models as old as yours: Limited processing power, limited graphics capability, and limited maximum system RAM.

  • AHT finds logic board error, but computer working fine

I ran the Apple Hardware Test to see the profile for my RAM, but 7 seconds into the test it stopped and reported a logic board error.
    1. But my computer is working fine. If anyone has experience with this, I'll gladly take your advice. Do I ignore this error at my own risk? Or should I get it looked at now in case it's an early warning of something that can get worse? For the real Apple tech experts, here's the error code: 2I2C/1/1: 0x00000092.
Eleven months ago, I had to get a new power supply installed. It was covered under the extended warranty for power issues with iMac G5s. As I've indicated, it's been working fine since then.
    2. Once AHT finds an error, it won't continue testing the remaining components. Does anyone know of a way to "force" the AHT to skip the logic board test and go on to test the other hardware items?
    Thanks all.

Michael, pray tell, where does one find the published list of codes you refer to? I searched the whole internet (or so it seemed like it) looking for a resource like that. Are you an AASP?
Even my experienced Apple technician and his AASP contacts didn't realize that my error code relates to the European Union. (And, BTW, I'm in Canada and I purchased my iMac from a store in Canada.) You have solved a mystery!
The strange thing is that when I phoned Apple Tech Support and asked to speak to a product specialist, even they told me that the code means "logic board needs replacement." When I asked to speak to a higher dept., I was connected to Customer Relations (very nice, professional fellow answered). When I explained that this G5 iMac has been problematic for me (failure after 7 mos. of ownership, power supply failure after 3 yrs, etc.) he offered me $100.00 off a new iMac ($125.00 in Canada), which I accepted.
I did use TechTool Pro to check the computer. It found no problems. Four months later and it's still going strong. I don't know whether to be upset with Apple for not bothering to look up the code, or whether I should look at this as a blessing in disguise (how else would I have received $125.00 off a new iMac? And now, my father gets a G5 that I can confidently say is in good working order). And it's strange that my local tech's AASP friends weren't any wiser. Aren't AASPs privy to this error code info? A mystery indeed...

  • Cip burnt on the logic board, but it still works!

Recently when i was using the MacBook (Late 2011, 13', 2.4MHz i5) without it been plugged in, it turned off all of a sudden with the "chich" sound and a puff of smoke came out. I thought my Mac died. But when i turned it on, it stated to work fine (checked with diagnostics, everything worked fine).
So, Just to be sure i took it to the apple service centre, and they showed me that a chip on the logic board (below the fan) have been burnt. but the wonder is, the mac works fine. it would take me around $650+ for me to replace the logic board. can anyone please tell me if this is something i can live with and not replace the logic board ?

  • Since replacement of logic board I can not access Time Machine backups.

I had my logic board replaced and I can not access my Time Machine Backups. Time Machine app says that b/u's were created on another computer. Also I can not sync my iPhone with iTunes. It says that it has never been sync'd. Local Genius bar suggested that I restore my User profile from earlier back up. I tried to explain that I can not access them. Any ideas?

  • Failed Logic Board after recent update

I am 2 1/2 months out of warranty, after the latest update I noticed my iPhone 5 started to lose battery life quickly and at 3am I happened to look at my phone and it was very hot, not just warm from use.  The battery had not charged at all and was at 48% after being plugged in for 6 hours.  Since the phone got hotter with use, I turned it completely off.  Monday morning came and the phone would not turn on, only flashing the apple logo.  Plugged into iTunes and tried to restore and was unable to after 4 attempts and two different cables.  When to the Genius Bar and was told the Logic Board had failed the cost to fix is $269.  She did mention that there may have been a problem with my phone prior to the upgrade and installing the upgrade exacerbated the issue.  I have noticed in the past few months it would turn off spontaneously like I had performed a hard reset.  Not eligible for an upgrade and really wanted to wait for the iPhone 6 to come out.  Are there any other options?  I am using my 3GS (I take very good care of my phones) now and even though it works fine its hard to have my other newer phone idle.  Any condsideration for being barely out of warranty would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Greetings,
Mac Pro memory must be installed in matched pairs (page 32 of the manual). Make sure you are installing your memory as depicted on page 34: http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/Mac_Pro_UserGuide.pdf
If you are installing the memory as described in the manual and the issue keeps happening, try removing the bottom memory card as described in the manual above and put it back in carefully but firmly ensuring it is completely seated in the memory bay. It is also a good idea to ensure there is no damage to the gold / copper contacts on the back edge of the card where it meets the logic board. Also ensure there is no debris blocking the length of the female slot on the logic board itself.
If the issue persists, perform an SMC reset: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
If the issue persists at this point, we want to put known good working RAM in the lower memory card (this could just be a bad / incompatible set of chips).
If the issue persists, you can try putting memory card #2 in the #1 slot and see if it works.
If the issue persists after testing with known good working RAM in the lower memory card then there are two possibilities:
    1. Bad memory card
    2. Bad connection from memory card to logic board
__It is unlikely to have an issue with the logic board itself as the system boots normally as long as you don't have anything in memory card # 2.
You may wish to take your computer to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store at that point to have it diagnosed further: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1434
    Hope that helps.

  • Script Logic in BPC is not working properly

    Hi All,
I have the BPC Microsoft version 7.0.114. I am trying to create a script logic to calculate price x units.
I have an application called GYP with the following dimensions:
PL (Account type) in this dimension are the units
    Time
    Category
    Entity
    Product
    RptCurrency
I have another application called PRICE with the following dimensions:
Price  (Account type) in this dimension are the prices
    Time
    Category
    Entity
    Product
    RptCurrency
The script logic i created in the GYP application is as follows:
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET PL="Units"
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET PRODUCT=<ALL>
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET ENTITY=<ALL>
    *XDIM_MEMBERSET CATEGORY="Budget"
    *LOOKUP PRICE
    *DIM PR:PRICE ="PRICES"
    *ENDLOOKUP
    *WHEN PL
    *IS "Units"
    *REC(FACTOR=LOOKUP(PR), PL="Revenues")
    *ENDWHEN
    *COMMIT
    I also put in the default.lgf :
    *INCLUDE UnitsxPrice.LGF
    *COMMIT
I have loaded data for units and price only for one product to validate the script logic but I'm not getting any calculated value in the revenues element.
I have read a lot of documentation about script logic but i haven't found which could be the problem.
Please, could you help me to know what i am missing to?
Thanks in advance for all your help.
    Regards,
    Luisana

    Hi,
Your script logic looks fine to me. However, I would request you to make a small change in your default logic.
Lets say that you created the script logic with the name CALCULATION.LGF, then the default logic should look like below:
    *INCLUDE CALCULATION.LGF
Notice that the name of the script logic should be consistent (and I have removed the commit statement from the default logic).
    Hope this helps.
