HT4528 iPhone 5 background noise too loud.

Everyone I talk to on my iPhone 5 say the back ground noise is very loud and it is worse on the apple headset. I see the commercial says the new 5 is designed to cancel background noise. Is there a microphone adjustment?

Every time I try to talk to my wife when using the Iphone 5 with Earpods, or any other headset for that matter, she complains that the mic on my phone headset is picking up EVERY SINGLE SOUND and amplifying it so loud that she can hardly hear my voice over all the background noise.... I have replecated this problem now 10 different iphone5 of my friends.... which is every single iphone 5. Without fail they all have this same issue. It is not my wifes phone either. People always complain when I am using my headset. ESPECIALLY when I am trying to comply with new laws requireing hands free phone usage. It is unacceptable for Apple to have failed in fixing this problem. I have spoken with several customer service reps/Genius's about this and there is no fix to date. I have upgraded my iphone5 to all latest versions of iOS with the hopes that Apple will one day fix this problem with a software update. Will someone please help us!!!!! I doubt my Apple loyalty will last without a fix to this massive inconvienence.

Okay, seriously I have had enough. While using Garage Band editing music, my computer once again made a too-loud beep/honk noise. This has happened once before. This has happened once before, but everything was okay except for a bit of distortion. WHY does this keep happening?! Heres a bit more information:
- Using Garage Band, didnt press ANY buttons to trigger sounds
- In using wireless internet, password protected
- I only had iMovie and iTunes opened (as well as GB)
- THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS ** HAS HAPPENED
- The sound was WAY too loud for the computer. It was like Max times 50
- I've only owned my Mac for about a year.
- I do not want to get a new bloody Mac, I just downgraded from SL.
I'm not really happy atm, so dont give me stupid answers.

I don't think you got a KP when the machine was off, but rather you may have closed the lid before the MB was fully powered down and it went into a sleep state.
Did you try running the Apple Hardware Test to see if the ram is bad? Since yo never had a KP before adding new ram, and the only change was adding said ram. My guess is that its the memory that is the cause.
I cannot vouch for patriot ram, but I suggest in the future you consider Crucial as its a higher quality ram.

I created a movie in QT Pro 7.6.6 with a background audio track and voiceover for each photo. It sounds great in QT Pro, but when I export it (mov and wmv), the background music drowns out the voiceover. I am desperate to finish this for my niece for her dad for Fathers Day. Not sure what work flow you were using to change relative volume of individual tracks but suspect any export action would automatically force a "reset" of the audio levels/settings before flattening during export. A better approach would likely be to create the file using GarageBand which allows you to set relative audio levels for each audio track independently and then set the final level of the "master" audio track separately. You can also split and duck individual audio tracks and/or "rubberband" the master track if desired before the final export.

Same problem for me. So bad in fact that I can't really use my headphones for calls. I have tried it with several sets of headphones. My primary are the Bang and Olufsen headphones which were great with the previous iphone 4 and 3.
Apple please address this issue.

I usually use headphones with a microphone to make phone calls, and they used to work perfectly. As soon as I got the iPhone5, I have had trouble. The person I'm talking to can hear every tiny background noise louder than my voice. In fact, they complain that it sounds like glass breaking or the ocean or loud rain. Today, someone about 20 feet away pulled up the window blinds and my caller said it hurt her ears.
I've tried a couple different sets of headphones and have the same problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes I have the same problem. I have tried 3 different sets of headphones and have had my iPhone replaced. The problem persisits. I am a Version customer in central Wisconsin.
The headphones are unuseable while making a phone call in a atmosphere where there is any background noise.
I have been on the phone for hours with Apple. Problem persists.

When I'm using my headset to talk with others the background noise is extremely loud. I have tried the earpods that came with the phone and the background noise cuts in and out and have tried Bose headsets and the noise sounds awaful....like a wind tunnel to others. There is no filter in FCE that can eliminate background noise separately from the sound you want to preserve.
SoundSoap can do this.

Mabye one of your microphones broke. Take it to the apple store they will be able to help you.

my macbook pro, early 20011, the background sound is too loud with or without headphones, i cannot hear the speech well. any ideas?

I'll be perfectly honest with you.....
On both my laptop (MSI GT70) and my desktop (MSI Z97 SLI) I have an Asus Xonar based sound card....it's just flat out better.
Personally, I don't care for the included software with the on-board sound solutions (software based creative crap is...crap...), and the sound that it makes for digital connections (COAX/optical) really isn't as good.
But again, that's just my opinion. I believe that the on-board sound should work though, and it might actually be a problem with the board. I would say at the very least, contact MSI and maybe consider an RMA to see if you can get it resolved, just so you have a fully working board to start with.

Iphone 5c audio too loud

I recently bought a headset BHS-930 by phaiser and the audio is way too loud whenever I try to play anything and there's no way to adjust it even at 1 on the iPhone 5c it's I can hear whatever I'm playing without even having the earpiece in my ear. This only happens when using it with my iPhone if I pair it with my laptop the volume level is fine but when I pair it with my phone the volume is so loud anyone sitting near me can listen to whatever is coming out of the earpiece. Is there anyway to fix this?

I would've done that if it was too loud for more then just the iPhone. I can pair it up with my laptop and the levels are fine, it's just on my iPhone that it too loud.

Too much background noise!

i am making a video of a party for someone and i would go around asking people to say a message to the camera for the "birthday boy". Some people are old and did not speak very well so i have hope for their clips, but in general there is just too much background noise. i know nothing about audio filters so if someone can enlighten me as to which one(s) i should use i would be oh so grateful

As also said in [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1181625&tstart=200]whe n it comes to sound you really need to get it right on set. I'm not being pessimistic, trying to remove BG noise will inevitably affect the entire audio, speakers voice will change, sound weird and applying filters could just make things worst!
However do have a go with an EQ filter to see by yourself. It is a non destructive action!
Also one thing you can do is make sure the volume doesn't exceed -6 db.

Go to System Preferences / Sound and click on the Input button. You should see two items listed in the device menu: the Internal Microphone and Line In. (There may be others if you also are using your USB or Firewire ports for input devices.)
Select Internal Microphone and adjust the Input Volume control to the far left (minimum). This will mute the computer's internal microphone.
Then select the Line-In (or other device) and adjust the input level as needed to make your recording.

so i have some footage but the background noise is really bad. like you can hear them just as well as the actors in the video, i turned on the setting where it fixes audio problems but its still pretty bad. So how can i fix this? ( or at least make it better)

Are there people talking in the background? You probably can't fix it. Probably ened to reshoot with better micing.
