I just got the iPhone. I have my iPhone connected to iTunes. When I download music from the internet to iTunes, iTunes won't let me simply drag the music I have selected to my iPhone. I looked it up and it said that i need to select "manually manage music and video" but when i hit apply it talks about erasing all of music and syncing the music on my new iTunes library. I also just got a MAC laptop so ive been building up my new iTunes library from my old one. Is there anyway I can add thr music i want without having to wipeout and erase all my music???

Checking "manually manage music and videos" will erase the music on your iPhone, not your iTunes Library. Your iTunes Library will not be deleted when you check that off. Once you do so, you will be able to drag and drop music from your library to your iPhone.

HT4528 iPhone 5 screen changes colors

So my iPhone 5 has recently been doing weird things. The screen will automatically change to green and purple while I'm in the middle of something then shut off. I have to restart it a couple of times before my regular screen will appear. I've never dropped it nor gotten it wet. I keep it safe inside my otterbox. What is the problem? Is it a software problem or the phone itself? I don't have insurance on my iphone. What do I do?

HT4528 iPhone audio book problem

How do I remove audiobooks from my iphone but not from my itunes account? My phone ran out of storage but I do not want to loose the books since i purchased them. I know it is probably easy but the new itunes is not as user friendly!

You can try to Restore the iPhone with iTunes on computer. See if better. If still problem, and there is Warranty or AppleCare, make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, Apple does not repair the Audio components of the iPhone 4S, for $199 they will offer perfect replacement iPhone 4S exactly like yours with 90 day Warranty too.

HT4528 iphone calendar sync help

I have many google calendars and all show up in my calender setting (iphone). I've chosen my primary calender with the radio button but in my "notification" screen multiple calendars show up??? how do i fix this?

I had just the opposite problem, that is, entries into Outlook calendar would not go to iCloud. I found the following solution:
Make sure that you are NOT running Outlook as Administrator (right click Outlook->Properties->uncheck "Run as Administrator". For some reason calendar sync (Outlook <-> iCloud) does not work if you run Outlook as administrator.
I don't know if this will fix your problem, but it's worth looking at. Let me know if it helps.

HT4528 IPHONE 5 gets the message "invalid sim" and "sim failure" - how do I fix this?

I keep getting the message: "sim failure" or "invalid sim". I have a not changed anything on the phone other that adding the recent update. How do I fix this?

If that doesn't work, you can just take out the sim and put it back in. To take it out, you put a paperclip into the small hole on the right side of you iphone. Press it in and the sim will eject. Then just press it back in once removed. Hope this helps.

HT4528 iPhone 5 No Connectivity & Unable to Send/Receive Mail

Is anyone else having connectivity issues?
I'm in NC, have an iPhone 5 if connecting via wifi I am unable to access the internet. I receive the message "Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found." I have tried multiple websites, same message. I've attempted this on two different networks, same result. If I turn off the wifi, I am connecting via LTE and again, the same message.
Email - If connected via LTE, I CAN send and receive email...... But if I connecting over wifi, I am receiving "Cannot Get Mail. The mail server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info in Mail settings."
I have made NO changes to any of my settings. This starting last night around 8pm EST and is still continuing as of this morning 8am. I have a wifi iPad2 that is functioning correctly. Also, I checked checked my folks iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S both on Verizon and they are functioning correctly.
As for the iOS software info. I cannot access this on my phone whether I am connecting via LTE or wifi. When I connect my iPhone to iTunes I receive the following "iTunes could not connect to the iPhone. An unknown error occurred (0xE8000065).
So I am leaning towards this being an iPhone issue vs an issue with Verizon.
Helps???? Thoughts?????

Also, appears to be affecting iMessage. I can send, but only as a text message, not iMessage and only over LTE, not wifi. I cannot receive any text of any type. They do show up on my iPad because the text was sent from an iPhone 4.

I just set up a calendar on iphone, ipad and PC. Iphone will not send new events but will receive from both PC and ipad. I just updated to iOS 6 and am reading others have similar problems. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Are the other phones that can't receive messages iPhones? If not, that could be the problem.

HT4528 iphone 5 not recognized as portable device in Windows 7 ultimate (64)

My iPhone 5 refuses to show up under my computer as a portable device, but syncs perfectly with itunes 11.0.1.12. Oddly, my wife's iPhone shows up on her Dell XPS 9100 which is also running W7U x64. I have a newer version of the same PC (the only real major difference being an intel 990x hexacore processor in mine vs the wife's quadcore 930 but I can't imagine why that would make any difference). I thought that maybe the apple mobile device driver needed to be updated but that's not it. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but no luck. I find it extremely odd that my iPod touch 5 gen is actually showing up as it should. Since my iPhone is now my primary everyday camera for quick snapshots (carrying my SLR for other than specialty photos is far too cumbersome), I need to be able to transfer my pictures. I could try the wife's computer but would prefer to save my pics on my computer and not have to transfer from hers to save time. Anyone have any ideas?

This is what I did:
I went to control panel and unistalled iTunes completely, then I installed 10.6.3

It came up with an error saying that my library had beed used with a more updated verision, basically had to upgrade. I installed iTunes 10.7
After it had installed and iTunes was running I hooked up both my iPhone and my flash drive, I have more than 1 usb port I figure most computers do now, and by the time and date in the bottom right corner a small icon came up showing that I had devices hooked up. It showed both my iPhone (but did not know what it was) and my flash drive. If you right click on the iPhone it has the option to Troubleshoot it. I did it and my iPhone 5 now FINALLY SYNCS!
I'm sooo happy now.

Most likely faulty battery. Make Genius reservation and take to Apple Store for quick free battery diagnostic testing.

Have you tried the basics from the manual? Restart, reset, and restore.
If so, then make an appointment at the genius bar.

HT4528 Iphone 4 Rear Camera Shutter Not Opening

My IPhone 4 Rear Camera is not functioning, is there anything I can do to fix this? Or can I bring it to an Apple Store for them to check it?

First try one of these methodes:
Try to restart your iPhone
Hold the power button and slide to turn off, then turn it on
if you still have the same problem then try the second methode:
Reset Settings of your device:
Settings>> General>> Reset >> Reset All Settings
Make sure you reset only your settings and NOT any other Contents
if you still have the same problem, so it seems to be a hardware issue, take it to the nearest Apple Store.

I own a iphone 4S. With it, I have a Bose Sound Dock II and a Yamha Recevier RX-V471 with the dock hardware. Up until recently, it has ran flawlessy. Now it shows the followingmessage on both units "Accessory Not Supported". However, it does charge. Help?
