someone put a screen curtain on my phone and now my screen is locked and blank. how do i fix it.
Try triple-tapping using three fingers to turn off screen curtain.

katherineIf you have attempted the reset, which is holding the home button and sleep/wake button, was it still connected to the computer? Have you tried to do that when not connected. You stated it never came on, how long did you hold the buttons together? If you cannot get it to connect to iTunes then you would not be able to restore the device. You can see if you can put the device into Recovery Mode by following the instructions in this support document. If that does not work, then you are correct, make an appointment at the Apple Store. My iPad screen is blue and blank. It will not respond to restarting. The apple logo does not appear. The screen switches from a dark blue (as if it's on) to black (as if it's off). But will not reset and will not turn off. Any advice?

You have to restore the device using iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.

Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
Use iTunes to restore iPad.
But ...if you are saying that the slide to unlock bar is not working and this has nothing to do with the iPad being disabled .... Reboot your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

I suspect your error was 1015, not 1051. This usually involves a jailbroken iPhone, use Google to find your solution.

Depending upon what is on the screen, have you tried a soft-reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
