My iphone 4s voice dictiation for text messages is not consistently working. I've had the phone since Thanksgiving and it always worked perfectly, but the last few weeks it's been hit or miss. By the way, if you are still interested, I found a solution. It's a bit crazy, but basically I have insulated the parts of the keyboard connector corresponding to the power button using some thin tape and then used a very thin wire going from the logicboard (where the test pads for startup are located) to my eject key, this way the original power button does not respond anymore and the eject key can be used as the power button, just like in the new Airs

Try an SMC Reset. (System Management Controller)
Shutdown>unplug from power for ten minutes>press and hold in the power button for ten seconds>startup again.
Also try a PRAM Reset. (Parameter RAM)
Shutdown. At the bootup chime, hold down CMD-Option-P-R together, wait for two more chimes, total three, then let go of all keys to finish booting,
If this doesn't do it, run the Hardware Test in Extended

Message settings option for text messages is not c...

I am using N73 phone and here i cant go to the message settings option for text messages. actually i want to change my message center.
Message > Options > Settings > Text Message
When i tried to follow above steps it finally ends up with the Main menu. But previously it works fine. I want to know there whether there is another way to set it or i need to go for a phone software installation.

The settings can also the sent directly to your phone as an auto install sms from your network. Contact your network and request they send you the sms.

Quit Safari, find the com.apple.Safari.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder, drag it to the Desktop, log out/in or restart and let us know what happens.

TS2755 Since the new update...My text messaging doesn't work???? I need help, I've tried everything...

Is anyone else having a problem with their text messaging since the new update?? If so, how did you fix it???

I seem to be having a similar problem. Since updating to iOS 7 my text messages are consistently getting the message send failure. I-messaging is fine, it appears to only happen with simple text messages to non-iPhone users. Maybe 1 out of 5 goes through on the first try.
Tried all the usual suspects. Checked settings. Restarted phone.

So my home button stopped working due to water damage. I put it in the microwave(for real no joke) so the water can evaporate. 2 seconds in and the screen sparked blue and now its not working any suggestions on helping me fix it?

Hey Peter, I think your missing the big picture. Your iPod is past repair, corrosion, is a real issue with water damage, but your problem took a turn for the worst when you attempted to use a microwave to dry it out. I see you found another post from July 2012, where someone else tried to nuke there iPod, and got the same results you have-- a dead iPod. The blue sparks, burnt smell and still not working all confirms one thing... Your iPod is not repairable. What the water didn't damage the microwave did. By attempting to microwave, you for all intensive purposes hit your iPod with an EMP, (Electro-Magnetic Pulse), in the first split second you overloaded the workings of your iPod and burned it up! There is is no way of known which circuits and components have been damaged and to what extend. You may be able to get a refurbished iPod, but it is unclear that Apple will allow it, because of the type of damage, it's not like this was an accident, you deliberately put it in the microwave in a misguided attempt to dry it out. when the microwave turned on it hit ever chip, diode, capacitor etc. with more power than it was designed to handle, in short; you baked it, burned it up, fried it, call it what you want, but it's not going to work! To attempt to repair is a meaningless gesture, (and probably will cost more than it's worth), chalk this one up as bad ideas 101-- learn from it, move on, and get yourself a new iPod. Two Months and Text Messaging still not working!

Why oh Why doest though treat me this way...... I have called 6 times about this issue. One night I was sitting on my couch play a game on my cell phone device.... I have the connect app on this phone. a message popped up that my text messages had been deleted..... so I cleared off the notification and didn't pay it any mind. the next day, I got on my computer and logged in to send a text message to someone... and ALL of my text converstations were gone..... the text I sent gave me an error message.... DELIVERY ERROR with a resend link...... of course it wasn't resending..... so I got on the phone..... the first THREE reps on three different calls.... stated they were escalating it... and I should receive a call back... NO CALL has taken place.... I called again, and again, days later..... my last call was a few days ago on Thursday..... the guy I could barely understand..... kept placing me on hold and giving the impression he was working to resolve.... then I hear someone talking in the background after being on the phone for an hour to no avail and telling me about deleting and downloading text messaging (which I dont know nothing about nor ever seen) he says something and then the phone goes silent...... then fast tone..... they guy HUNG UP on me... no CALL back.... and today my text messaging feature still doesn't work.... My question is.... do ANY of the employees in tech support know what the text messaging feature is.... how it works, how it is accessed, and how to fix it when it isn't working.... WHY are they telling me about deleting this feature ON MY OWN... when this is something built into the voice service on the site and on the connect app..... it doesn't work on either of them.... Can someone FIX IT please....? I am tired of calling for unknown support

Mine doesn't work either, so you are not alone. I upgraded to X1 a few weeks ago and "activated" the text messaging service the other night. I'm still not able to send or receive messages from any location, be it the app, website, or various other methods. It seems Comcast just loves offering faulty products. (This is probably the 4th or 5th time in a row their service has failed to correctly work for me since I decided to upgrade, thinking it would resolve a previous issue they caused...)

First of all this is a straight HDMI connection, no adapters, or splitters, or converters, etc.
The TV is a brand new toshiba. Apple TV works well with the HDMI cable that came with (4-5feet?). This was connected to the HMDI1 port of the tv. However, when I use the 60foot long cable in the same port I get no picture at all. I bought this cable from amazon

I also have a 50foot cable that I bought from staples that is currently connecting the same toshiba TV to a desktop for a different purpose (to have a second, larger screen on the wall). My wife is a dentist and she uses it to show her patients xrays, pictures, etc of their teeth. This connection is using the HDMI port 2. today I used that cable to connect the apple tv and it worked. So the length of the cable can be pretty much ruled, if a 50footer worked why not a 60footer, right?
Before i return the 60foot cable to amazon, i am going to use it to connect the TV to the desktop. If it works I will keep it and just switch their functions (60footer for displaying x-rays, etc, and the 50footer for apple tv). I am not sure whether an HDMI cable not working with apple tv would work to connect an extra screen??? I will let you guys know tomorrow.

Check for updates (apps) does not work any more

In iTunes when I click the "Check for Updates" nothing happens. But, I can download update using my iPhone as usual.
In iTunes I can still buy new APPs, access the store, buy music, TV shows as usual.

Im also having the same issue. I called Apple they refer me to do an uninstall of all ituns apps which I did by following the link they that he had emailed me ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923) which i did anden when the still I got the issue has not been resolve I even went thru unistalling it and deleting all of the windows registerys and reinstall and still no fix.
it seems like they dont know the cause or have a fix, does anyone has any ideas
