HT4528 what do you do do if your phone randomly turns off and won't turn back on?
Is there anything that you can do when your iphone randonly turns off and it won't tuen back on? i have tried charging and pugging it into my itunes, but nothing is happening, it's not even making that noise when you plug it in.
Smash it with a hammer.
Haha, seriously now, did you try taking out the battery for 20 minutes and putting it back in?

If you have done the reset and nothing appears and you are sure it still has a charge and it doesn't turn on, you may request for a replacement if it still covered by the warranty. Cheers!

Try resetting the device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If the Apple appears, the reset is in progress, and the Slide to Unlock screen will display shortly.
Make sure the battery is charged. If you think it may not be charged, then plug the device into the charger and try resetting after 5 minutes or so.

If you hold the home button and power button for about 10 seconds it will turn back on. I have had his issue 3 times but don't know what fixes it for good

The hold button is broken, but the phone won't turn on even when plugged into a power source.
You may be able to access the iPhone by following the suggestions of lllaass in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5634135 for remote access but without doing the restore part.
With a non-working button you would be better off taking it to an Apple store genius bar for testing by the techs and see what they want to do regardng repair/replacement.
For some time Apple has not been repairing iOS devices but replacing them...however, yesterday a user reported an Apple store replacing a part in his iPhone 5 so that policy may be changing. -

If it continues to show the connect to iTunes graphic, then you do have to restore the phone. If you have not created a backup of your phone, then I hope you use icould because this will erase all of the info on the phone.

sometimes if the battery drains completely you will need to leave it plugged into a charger for 10-15 minutes before you get any activity at all. this is normal

Thanks for your help. I tried plugging it in but nothing happened, I actually still had battery power left. I was able to solve my problem by holding down the power and home buttons, which reset the phone and got it started again.

my iphone came up with that timing circle and just turned off and did not come back on ? even when i charge it now it still wont turn on ,do you know the problem?
If the battery was empty (and it may then take 10 to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.
