I'm using Tiger 10.4.11 and had to wipe my drive and reload my system from the install discs yesterday,
Now I'm running Itunes version 4! It won't let me access the store, I've tried everything on the help pages,
EVERYTHING, I need a older version of Itunes, but not as old as version 4, which, no, it will not upgrade
automatically for me, it says no upgrade available. Why does Mac not support older versions of
its operating systems, why do they make it so hard to find help for those system users other than
the money of course, but have you seen the stock lately? They got enough money.Yup, your question and Diane's answer helped me also. Tho' I had had problems before getting into the iTunes store I always managed to find a way. Today they had me blocked cold with the "Update to 10" advert no matter what I did. Other questioners are being told, incorrectly as it turns out, that they have to update their OS to accomodate iTunes 10 and upgrade to iTunes 10. I did the download which did not take up much more room on my crowded old hard drive and now I'm back in business.

hello, cant access the itunes store or log in with my apple id as i get an error message saying cant connect to the i tunes store. i even attempted to download the latest ios6 which cut of. just does not want to accept my apple id
Hi Mr Lenz
I had the exact same problem yesterday when i tried to get some music from the store. The same messages appeared on my screen. I just waited for an hour or so and logged on again with no problem. I was able to download music normally. Perhaps there was a momentary glitch at the iTunes store at that time.
You might try to log on again and see what happens.

I have windows 8.1 and cannot access itunes store even creating a new apple id. With other users on the same computer I can access itunes store. How can I solve this?
i had the same problem before using a fresh install of Windows 8.1. I have resolved this issue by running the program compatibility wizard. This I did by right-clicking on the iTunes icon in the desktop, selecting Troubleshoot compatibility, waited for it to detect compatibility issues and when presented with the following options: 1.) Try recommended settings; 2.) Troubleshoot program, I chose the latter. When asked what problems I noticed, I checked the following: "The program worked in earlier versions of Windows but won't install or run" and "The program requires additional permission"
After that, it tired to resolve the issue, and provided the necessary settings to run iTunes. Now it's running flawlessly. I have Avast anti-virus installed though.

Getting support through this site is terrible. Having said that I have been trying to access the store in order to order PS CC and I have been unable to connect. I have an internet connection that works with everyone else. The URL comes up in the browse window and the address simply hangs. This has been going on for the past three hours.

If you attempt to search for a solution on various forums there appears to be a link for this problem with issues accessing quicktime, and system 32 files. I have got no problems accessing quicktime, and i Have re-installed itunes several times, uninstalled anti-virus, turned on and off the firewall, all to no avail. At this point evertime Itunes is opened it attempts to connect to the store and crashes, so cant even listen to the music in the library.
Anybody got any ideas how to fix?
Thanks in advance
SimonHello angus94,

Continue your troubleshooting with the article below to get access to the iTunes Store.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Troubleshoot issues on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General > Date & Time. Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.
Make sure that your iOS software is up to date by tapping Settings > General > Software Update (iOS 5 or later) or connecting your iOS device to iTunes and clicking Check for Update on your device's Summary page.
Check and verify that you're in range of a Wi-Fi router or base station. If you're on a device with cellular service, make sure that cellular data is turned on from Settings > General > Cellular. Note: If connected to cellular data, larger items may not download. You may need to connect to Wi-Fi to download apps, videos, and podcasts.
Make sure that you have an active Internet connection. You can check the user guide for your device for help with connecting to the Internet.
Make sure that other devices (portable computers, for example) are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network and access the Internet.
Try resetting (turning off and then on again) your Wi-Fi router.
If the issue persists, try troubleshooting your Wi-Fi networks and connections.

ITunes 12 crashes when accessing the store
I installed Yosemite and iTunes 12.0.1. Since then, it crashes when accessing the store (wolor wheel)
I re-installed iTunes. It works with my Library when my iMac is disconnected from the net, but as soon as iTunes tries to access the store and refresh iTunes Match… Bang. It freezes again and I have to re-install it (it freezes again when I restart, even when disconnected).
Ho can I solve this, please ?I was having the same issue. iTunes Match had little or none to do with it. Basically anything that required logging into the store (I needed to re auth). Frustrating because iTunes now makes you use your apple id for the tiniest little tasks, and worse yet, it shows logged in, but it really isn't. Anytime I tried to authenticate it would time out and then cause iTunes and a library file to not respond, causing me to force quit. I did notice my wireless connection was suffering. I rebooted my router and tried again, voila! connected and authorized! no time outs! iTunes 12.0.1.26 seems to be a little sensitive to weak connections?

ITunes 11.0.5 crashes when accessing the store.
I just updated to iTunes 11.0.5 recently and whenever I try to access the store, it crashes. The loading bar gets about 90% loaded and then I recieve an "iTunes has stopped working" message form windows and am forced to close the program. I've tried a few things from the support communities, but nothing seems to help, so I'm hoping someone even more tech savy than me can figure this out.
Here is the information I am given when I ask for problem details:
