HT4539 Transferring Music from my IPad to my PC?

I have recently purchased a CD from the IStore, using my IPad.  I want to transfer the CD to my PC, but having difficulty.  I assumed that my PC would have automatically identified or downloaded my new purchase from the IStore.  It seems to work the othe way, when I buy a song using my PC it will automatically show up on my IPad under Purchases.  Am I missing something?

Hmm, some assumptions are needed because of your wording:
You said: "I have recently purchased a CD from the iStore, using my iPad."  First, I am guessing "iStore" means "iTunes Store".  Second, the iTunes Store does not sell CDs, they sell music albums.  So I am assuming that is what you mean.
If you're trying to get music that you purchased from the iTunes Store on your iPad moved to iTunes on your computer, then on your computer, open iTunes' Preferences (under the leftmost item in iTunes' menu bar), then choose the "Store" tab on top, and select the automatic download categories you would like to pick up from your iPad from now on.

    Hey lightc,
If you are having an issue with iTunes not recognizing your iPad and iPod on your Windows computer, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

  • I need help transferring my music from my iPad 2 to my Macbook.  Just syncing the devices will wipe out my music on my iPad.

Please help!  My macbook needed a new hard drive and all my music got wiped away.  No worries, it's all on my iPad 2.  But when I try to sync the devices it warns me that it will erase all my current music on my iPad - it seems like syncing only moves information from the macbook to the iPad, not the other way around.  But I need it to go from my iPad to my macbook.
    Can anyone help?

"*Partly, I guess, I just figured if my songs were on one of my devices I could just transfer them back to my laptop"
I told you this in my first response:
" The only exception is itunes purchases:  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases."
You may be able to purchase a 3rd party program to get other music.
So is what you're saying that I'm basically screwed, that there's no way at all to move music from my iPad to my laptop?  That seems absurd if true.
Really?  It is absurd not to maintain a backup copy of your computer.

  • How to download music from the iPad 1 to a ford truck's music system?

I don't know how to put all my music from my ipad's library onto my truck's music system.

Unless your sync is different from mine, I think it's less you putting music on your cars harddrive and more accessing the device's harddrive via a headphone cable or the USB sync cable. I've only hooked my iPod up to my car, but I can either hook it up with the USB cable And control the iPod via the USB, or use a male/male 1/8th inch cable (standard headphone cable ) and control the iPod itself.
If you have a different kind of entertainment in your truck, then I'd suggest you see what the manual says. It's very possible that your iPad simply will not allow music to be transferred off of it. The iTunes DRM may not allow that.

  • Can I transfer music from my iPad to my iPhone 5c and how?

I transferred music from my pc to my iPad last year. I no longer have my pc but recently got an iPhone 5c and would like to transfer my music to it. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

There is no way to transfer the music from the iPad to the phone. If the music was purchased from iTunes, you can download it again from the purchased tab in the iTunes app, as long as you use the same Apple ID. You will not be charged again if you download the songs again on the phone.
If the music was ripped from CD's, then you need a third party app but you will still need a computer to move the music to the computer and then sync it to the phone using iTunes.
    look at this.

  • How do i transfer music from my ipad to my iphone?

How can I transfer music from my ipad to my iphone? Thanks!

You can transefr the music directly from one device to another one. You either have to transfer the purchases into iTunes on your computer and sync them to the other device, or go to the purchased tab in the iTunes app and download them again onto the device. As long as you use the same Apple ID, you will not be charged again to download the songs.

  • HT1329 My laptop was stolen and I am trying to transfer the music from my iPad

I want to transfer the music from my iPad, most of which is not purchased from iTunes, to the new computer (PC) but getting a message stating that the device is syched to another computer.  Anyway to make my new computer the home computer and transfer the non-iTunes music without erasing the content of the iPad?

Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer (except purchased content as mentioned above).  For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):
    - Senuti - http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/

Do not regard your i-device as a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining a backup of your media on a computer backup.

  • How can I delete music from my iPad Air other than by one song at a time? I am still on iOS 7.

How can I delete music from my iPad Air other than one song at a time? I would like to delete a few albums.  I am still on iOS 7.

You can either sync the iPhone and iPad to a computer that has your music on it and make sure the U2 album is not on the computer. Or you can delete all of the music from both devices (settings > general > usage > manage storage > music. Then redownload your music from your purchase history on the iTunes store
Also the U2 album is attached to your apple id. To remove it, you will need to go here ---> https://itunes.com/soi-remove

  • How can I transfer music from my iPad to my iPhone without using a computer/iTunes?

Disclaimer:  I am actually asking this for a family member, but I don't have an answer for her either.
My family member has an iPad with music on it currently.  This music is music bought from iTunes and music bought from other sources.
Her computer died a few months ago and she does not intend on replacing it.
She just bought an iPhone and would like to copy the music from her iPad to her new iPhone.
I had originally thought that iTunes Match would work for this, but the Apple Support article regarding iTunes Match (iTunes Store: Subscribing to iTunes Match) suggests that it requires a computer w/ iTunes to do the initial update.
I'm willing to consider approaches from either, Apple or third-party.
If it helps, her iPad and iPhone are both running iOS 7.

    The answer is, "you don't".
Music other than that purchased from the iTunes store had to be synced to the device using iTunes on a computer. The media should still exist on that computer. She can use the computer to sync the music to the new device.
An iPad or iPhone is NOT a backup device. In order to set it up to sync to a new computer were she to replace hers, the media on the device would have to be erased before anything could be synced to it. Media synced to the device can not be synced back to a computer (without purchasing 3rd party software). Without a computer and iTunes, it's not possible to transfer media from one iDevice to another, even with 3rd party software.
