  • Unable to burn purchased music

    Hi there.
Just downloaded the latest version of itunes today.
    However....
Am getting a message when trying to burn purchased songs to a disc saying "None of the files can be burned to an mp3 disc".
I never had this problem before when had the older verison of itunes.
Is it because they are protected aac tracks, and if so is there anyway around this?
    Cheers and thanks in advance.

    Hi "shawn1982",
You can't burn AAC tracks to an MP3 CD - you need to change your burn settings to Data CD/DVD in order to do this.
    Hope this helps,
    -Travis

  • Can Burn Ripped Music, Can't Burn Purchased Music

    Help!!
Ever since installing 7.0.2 I can no longer burn purchased music to CD. Music I ripped from my own CDs burns just fine.
Data from desktop burns fine as well as music from other programs such as sonic and Windows Media Player. Actually iTunes worked fine until I upgraded to 7.0.2 from 6
I'm thinking ther must be some kind of problem with the protected MPEG4 that apple is using that is messing up CD burning
I have downloaded latest firmware, updated drivers, re installed IDE/ATA, Reinstalled iTunes, Re installed CD burner, tried every burn speed from fastest down to 1x, Turned off spam & spyware, turned off firewall, turned off virus prtection made, Made sure IMAP CD settings are set to automatic and started.
Nothing works. I'm at my wits end and getting very frustrated because I have hundreds of dollars of purchased music that is now stuck on my computer and won't burn.

I don't understand, we buy this music for a buck a piece, and then when you want to make an mp3 cd to play in your car, like i have( i can make one cd with 150 songs)or what ever , we can't even do that. I also have an ipod but i don't bring it into my car all the time. I thought that because we are buying the music and technically we own them, that we can use the music which ever way that you want. And now we have to buy a converter if we want to make mp3 cd's. I have resorted to spending my money on cd's to make cd's of my protected files, just to rip them back on my computer again as an mp3 song, remove the protected songs, and all this to do what i thought we could do with our purchases music because, oh i don't know, call me crazy, we were able to before!!! All i now see is that we have to spend money to get our music to spend money to change our music to use it the way we want to, to spend our money to make our own cd's. The operative words, spending our money. Does anyone find this absolutely rediculous? Anyone ever hear the phrase "Don't fix it if it ain't broke"? Anyone else frustrated?

How to share purchased music with friends on the internet.

Find the song you want in Spotify or Youtube.  It may, but does not have to, match a song in your iTunes library.
Right-click the title and choose "Copy HTTP link" (Spotify) or just copy the URL (Youtube).
Email the link to your friends.  They simply click on it and listen to the song.

  • Burning Purchased Music - Help!

Anyone who has time to help, I would greatly appreciate it!
    Issue:
Any attempt to burn purchased music to CD results in a disc that will not play in any of 4 CD players I own (home stereo, car, portable, etc.)
    Facts:
--Audio CD is checked in Preferences
    --Using Sony media
--Have tried Burning/Ripping back to iTunes/Burning technique
--Have tried Burning ripped tracks through Toast
--Have not exceeded 7 burn limit
    20" iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I am using CD-R. I tried a different brand of media...same result. The cd players seem to recognize the disc and display the right amount of tracks and time, but there is no audio...
    Any other ideas?

  • Burning purchased music loses playlist

when I burn purchased music from itunes, the file info, artist, song name etc is all lost, just track numbers on the new disc...i do not have this problem burning songs I have ripped from cds i own, so settings must be right.
    any ideas?
    second thing...
I can not convert itunes purchased files to any other format, and the default format being burned my home and car cd player does not recognize...any ideas on that one?
    thank you.

    rolexman111,
    Second thing first:
The iTMS sells copy-protected .m4p files that can only be listened to on an authorized computer.
Furthermore, the files cannot be converted to other formats.
As the previous link suggests, though, what you can do is burn an Audio CD of the purchased music and listen to that CD or use it in any way you would a "normal" CD.
    EDIT:
Ooops, I forgot about the first thing ...
What's unusual is that you say you were able to view the song information previously because iTunes does not put that information into burned Audio CD's.
    Have a look at:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=607302&#607302
Is it possible you were burning data CD's previously?

My daughter has used my computer to log into iTunes and download music but now it won't let me download recently purchased music from my iPad onto my computer. I want to transfer the recently purchased songs onto my iPod so how can I do this now? iTunes now says that I have to wait another 55 days! There must be a way to do this since I have paid for them.

In iTunes sign out of your daughters Apple ID and sign in with your own.

  • Unable to use purchased music in other iLife programs

I am trying to use an iTunes purchased song in an iPhoto slideshow. When I do I get an error message saying that this computer is not authorised to play this music. The computer in fact is authorised and iTunes plays the music fine. I have repeatedly tried re-authorising to no avail. I have encountered the same problem in iDVD. Am I not able to use a purchased song in other iLife programs? Is there any way to solve this problem?

Burn the purchased music out to an AUDIO cd, then reimport in any format you like. The reimported version should work fine with your other iLife projects. This is a common problem when trying to use purchased iTMS tunes in iMovie and iDVD.

  • TS4124 is there a fee for downloading music with cloud icons

Due to a drive failure, I had to reconstruct my iTunes library from a back up.  When I did this, I also upgraded to iTunes 11.0.1 (12) and discovered hundreds of tracks with cloud icons, some I had purchased, some I don't remember ever purchasing.  Because ONE album with a cloud was one I'd purchased from iTunes a couple of days prior, I assumed that these were all free-access - that is, I have rights to download.
I started clicking on the hundreds of cloud icons and the downloading began flooding through.
Is there a fee for downloading?  I didn't see any new fees in my account, but those things can take days.  There was not prompt asking "if I wanted to purchase".

You can download all your music purchased in iTunes as many times as you want free or charge

  • I am unable to see purchased music

The itune store shows I purchased U2 Age of Innocense, but it doesn't show in my list of purchased music OR in my library.  HELP!

You should be able to download it into your library by ticking the 'show iTunes in the Cloud purchases' tick box on the Store tab in Edit > Preferences - it should then show in the Music part of your library with a cloud icon against it for downloading (downloading the booklet for it this way may not work, you may get a 'corrupt file' message when trying to open it).
Or go to the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage and you should be able to download it from there.
A third option is to sign out of your account (Store > Sign Out menu option), find the album in the store and then click on its free 'price' button - you should then be prompted to sign back in and the album should download.

  • Unable to burn purchased tracks to CDs - MP4 format

Has anyone solved this one? I have my preferences set to audio CD? I'm wondering if its because I am using CD RWs should I just try CD Rs?
If I cant burn the purchased music to CDs theres no point in buying from iTunes.

How are you trying to burn the tracks? Do you know that you need to create a playlist and burn it to CD rather than burn the tracks directly to CD?
Your purchased music is covered by DRM, so this restricts the number of times you can create a CD with your purchased tracks. You can only burn the same playlist to CD up to seven times. If you've already burned your purchased album then you'd be better making a copy of the CD you've already created.

  • Can't purchase music with iTunes 4.9

Try to purchase my cart and I get a message "This item requires a later version of iTunes to purchase. This item requires version 6.0 to purchase." These are just songs, no videos. I have not purchased music on another computer with 6.0. I did authorize my husband's new computer (iTunes 6.0 with Windows) to play my music. Is that why I can't buy music now?
I really don't want to upgrade to 6.0. iTunes 5.0 royally screwed up my computer. I was fortunate that I had a clone on the external hard drive and could go back to 4.9.
According to the system requirements, you need a G3 500 MHz to run iTunes 6. I only have a G3 450 MHz. Additional video requirements are G4 with 500 MHz. I'm not even sure I can play music let alone video, so I'm not going to get anything out of 6.0.
Is there anything I can do? Except purchase music on my husband's computer, burn it to CD and then import it?
    Karen

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not sure if that will help. I never purchased anything with iTunes 6, I only authorized my husband's new computer with iTunes 6 to play my music.
This is what I heard from Apple about iTunes 6 system requirements:
    Dear Karen,
Thank you for your interest in buying music from the iTunes Music Store.
While iTunes 6.0 does have basic requirements, you may attempt at downloading the new version, although we cannot guarantee this will be effective. But, in order to purchase music from the iTunes Music Store you need to be running iTunes version 6.0 or later. You can download the latest version of iTunes at no charge from our website.
I have a project coming up, but when I'm done, I will try iTunes 6 and post back.
