HT4539 Where is the "authorize this computor button"  in the iTunes store

Where is the "authorize this computor" button located, in the iTunes Store?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You authorise the computer from the Store menu, if you don't have a menu bar, press ctrl-B.

  • HT1420 I can't find the "authorize this computer" button in updated itunes. How can I do it?

I cannot find the place to authorize my computer for iTunes. The link given by Apple's support team is not helpful--the updated iTunes doesn't show the same screen or information as I had in an older version of iTunes. I would really like some help because Apple's support team isn't giving me any more new information than I already had in the first place. All they gave me was a link to a page on their website about authorization/de-authorization that I've visited before, to no avail.

If you are on a Mac then it should be in the same place as on previous version e.g. on my Mac on iTunes 11
If you are on a PC then Alt-S should open the Store drop-down menu at the top of it

I'm trying to authorize a new computer from the itunes store.  The tutorial says to click on the "authorize this computer" button from the itunes store, but I cannot find it!  So frustrating!

It is not in the iTunes Store...
    Open iTunes...
If you're using iTunes 11 click on the box icon in the top-left corner to see the " Show Menu Bar "
and from the Menu Bar select Store...
From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer.
(In earlier versions of iTunes, access this option from the Advanced menu).
When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, then click Authorize.

I want to add my pc to my apple id? Can't find the authorize this computer link on the store page

You're looking in the wrong place. You need to look under the Store menu in iTunes. If you have iTunes 11 on a Windows system which has the menus hidden by default for some unexplainable reason, press Control-B.
    Regards.

You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • I can't find the "Authorize This Computer" button on itunes for my iMac.

Does anyone know where I can find it? Im trying to connect my ipod touch to my new imac and i cant seem to figure out how to do it.
    Thanks!

You don't need to be in the store but you do have to have iTunes running.
Just mouse over the menu bar (Top of screen ) to Store and in the pull down menu select
    "authorize this computer"
You are presented with a new window into which you add your Apple ID credentials and click the Authoize radio button.
So long as your are connected to the internet a small background script runs and confirms completion.
You can have up to 5 different computers authorised at any one time.

  • Where us the "Authorize this computer" choice on the Store menu

I read all the instructions that I could find and cannot find it on my iTunes application
It is realy frustrating since I just installed the new iPhone SW version as prompted by the App Store and all my previously dawnloaded Apps stopped working after the rebooting.  Now I have to reinstall all of them fromm the phone itself, rather than by sinchronizing them with the computer.
    I have iTunes 10.6.1.7

It's in the Store menu at the very top of the iTunes application window.

  • HT1420 Where is the "authorize this computer" function?

Where is the "authorize this computer" function in the iTunes store?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Altrenatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
