It is only restrictive if you have more than 5 computers.
Otherwise it is not restrictive at all.
devices do not count, only computers.
You have more than 5 computers on the same home network.

Shared tab in left menu column does not show on one of the computers after setting up Home Sharing

For iTunes 10.3, I have set up home sharing on two computers that run windows 7, I have authorized both computers. The iTunes Shared link for computer 2 shows up on left column for computer 1(main iTunes computer). The problem I am having is that the Shared link for computer 1 DOES NOT show up on computer 2. My network between the both computers is working because I am able to pull/copy music files from computer 1 to computer 2. Why doesn't the Shared link for Computer 1 show up on Computer 2 Itunes left column? Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Nothing had changed when I plugged in my iPod at work today, having changed it to manage manually earlier at home. But after rebooting a few minutes ago, iTunes cranked up and updated the library. The library now appears below DEVICES/iPod on the menu instead of under LIBRARY/Music at the top left, which I'm pretty sure is different from before, but no matter. Also the iPod is still not appearing in My Computer but again, no matter. I am able to play my tunes on the work install of iTunes now and use iDump (which is a helluva lot less trouble than iTunes) to extract them.

Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive on each device and make sure only the phone number for that device is checked.

HT4557 Need iOS 4.3 for Home Sharing

I have a 2nd gen Touch. Running iOS 4.2.1. Ckd for update. Says its current version. Need 4.3 for Home Sharing. No generation limit listed for Touch in Home Sharing support. How can I get iOS 4.3? Is it available for 2g Touch?

You didn't read my post above. I can't give you credit for the answer. Also, it appears that you are not familiar with the American idiom. I really couldn't care less what you prefer for me. You have no idea what my application is for Home Sharing.
I am able to use Home Sharing to stream my music from iTunes on my computers to my various audio systems in the digital domain, preserving the original resolution of the files. I can use the iPad Camera Connection Kit with my iPad. I then have to use a USB DAC to convert the stream to analog. Tethering my iPad to my various systems is not always convenient. My iPhone works with Home Sharing using my Wadia 170 iTansport.This eliminates the need for a USB DAC. but i don't want to tie up my phone just to play music. This is why I would like to use my 2g Touch.
I'm sure the iOS version limitation has to do with the CPU in the Touch, but it is exasperating, especially when there is conflicting information on the Apple support site about iOS 4.3 being required and then saying iOS 4.2.1 is OK with AppleTV. Also, the instructions listed for using the iOS devices are incorrect. There is no Settings>iPod selection. It is Settings>Music for iPhone, iPad, and even version 4.2.1 on the Touch.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

I'm trying to add another computer to my authorizations and it says I have five already authorized; my only thought as to the fifth is my apple tv (I have a macbook pro, two macbooks and an imac for a total of four computers). Does the apple tv take up one of the five authorizations? Thanks!

No. You can request a second Deauthorize All in a year by contacting customer support. Note that the computer the content is on needs to be deauthorized and reauthorized manually for protected content to play on an Apple TV.

I have a desktop iMac and a Macbook notebook. I just purchased Adobe Web Standard CS3 (student license).
Can I install and activate the package on both of my computers? I know I could do this with a regular license, but I was unsure about the student license.

I purchased adobe cs3 primium but i already had photoshop installed. I installed cs3 primium and now i keep getting the error that the licensing has stopped working can't use file cont IT or cust. support. I tried to download the clean file and it gives me the same error to open this file. i tried to uninstall with control panel programs and uninstall and it gives me the error uninstall not complete. I tried to repair with disc and uninstall with the disc and nothing is working. I have windows vista with 100g hd 500 mem duo core all the proper requirements but i can't get this to work.'

There's no list available from your end. If you're out of authorizations, use the Deauthorize All function.

Why does restoring an iOS device kill my home internet connection?

I never noticed this happening before iOS 5. Every time I restore an iOS device (iPhone 4, 4S and iPad 1), all goes well up until I click 'restore from backup', then iTunes starts chugging away like normal but my internet connection drops. I checked other devices in the house and they lose their internet connection as well. If I shut off the modem and router for two minutes, the internet connection comes right back.
This happens if I try the restore from a Win7 Dell desktop connected via ethernet and when I try it from a Compaq Win7 laptop via wifi.
I'm not sure if Comcast is throttling connections to iTunes or what. The iOS software downloads fine (800 MB in 11 minutes). Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal but I'm worried what kind of effect losing internet midway through a restore process might have on the device.

IOS devices don't put shared photos from Camera Roll onto My Photostream

I have photostream setup and working pretty well. I have 2 iPhones and 2 iPads syching all their photos between them and sharing with others. My phortos are also being automatically saved on my mac mini using My Photostream.
The problem is when I want to add photos someone esle has shared on a photo stream into My Photostream. I save the photo I want into the Camera Roll of the device. This bit works fine but for somereason the photo isn't then put into My Photostream. It's very strange because if I put images into my Camera Roll through other methods (such as from an email or a screen capture and of course by taking a photo) the image gets into My Photostream. It's just images I imput from shared photostream that don't.
This is really frustrating because I want to easily have other people's photos that I want in my personal colleciton included in the backup on the mac mini. It's particularly nice how all my photos appear grouped by month in Events in iPhoto.
Is anyone else having this problem? Any advice on how to fix it? It's occuring with all my iOS devices so it looks like it might be a bug.

I'd rather not. Besides the hassle of the extra synch process, they'll come in as separate import events mixed in wih all my other photos and not be in the month by month photostream archive I mentioned.
