HT4597 how do I know whether I have successfully moved from MobileMe to iCloud?

I followed directions for moving from mobile me to icloud, but can't figure out a way to verify that the move is complete.  Does anyone know how to verify this?
Thank you.

Check whether your mail is visible at http://me.com or at http://icloud.com . If the former, you haven't migrated successfully and should go to http://me.com/move and follow the instructions, logging in with your @me.com address (not your iTunes ID if this is different).
If your mail appears at http://icloud.com you have migrated and need to sign in and enable Mail in System Preferences>iCloud (Lion 10.7.2 required).

We have just moved from MobileMe, where we had a 'Family account' (and we each have our own @me.com email addresses) to iCloud. We share the Cal and Contacts on our iMac. How do we sync to multiple devices - we each have an iPad and an iPhone, but with different accounts set up for mail. Mine syncs OK to Cal and Contacts, but hers doesn't. There must be a way! Please help.

According the this: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/transition.html, "After moving to iCloud, family member accounts are no longer linked to the master account."  You can share an iCloud calendar (see http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690), but I don't think you will be able to share iCloud contacts unless you are signed into the same iCloud account on both phones.

After moving from mobileme to icloud, how do I move my address book?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Your address book should have migrated along with your move. If it hasn't go to groups, in "on my mac" group select all the contacts that appear on the right-hand side and drag them to your "iCloud" group.
Once you have done this you can then delete the contacts from your "on my mac" group.

I have .me and .mac email accounts on my iPhone 4. I thought I had successfully transitioned from MobileMe to iCloud, but something must be wrong. iCloud seems to work fine on my computer and, with the exception of two email accounts, seems to be fine on my phone. Can/should I delete the accounts on my phone and start over? It is somewhat of a nuisance to have two email accounts and double the amount of emails. The only thing different about the two iCloud accounts is the email addresses. Thanks.

Well, seems I managed to unscrew this...I deleted my iCloud mail account and reinstalled it on my phone. That got rid of the duplicate .me/.mac email accounts.

You can migrate to iCloud, but the only thing you will be able to do is access email, and you will have toi set Mail up manually to do this:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger
This is worth doing to maintain your email address, but you won't be able to sync calendars, contacts or bookmarks. Your calendars and contacts will be removed from MobileMe (though not from your Mac) and won't appear on the iCloud website.

  • Bid Invitation - How do I know whether Bid Invitation is created from PR

    Dear Gurus,
I am trying to implement a BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI and the method is BID_CHANGE. How do I know whether Bid Invitation is created based on PR (Shopping Cart) when I am implementing the above said BADI? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    GSM

    Hi,
Try to use BBP_PD_BID_GETDETAIL function module.
Check E_HEADER_REL-OBJECT_A = 'BUS2121'. If the field value exists, then the bid document is from shopping cart.

  • I moved from MobileMe to iCloud but it stopped my mail on my 3g iPhone How do I work around that until I can buy newer iPhone that runs iCloud?

When I moved my MobileMe account to iCloud on my MBP I knew my iPhone 3G was limited but I didn't think it would be cut off from the icloud services. I still have a GMail account come through on it ok but I really would like my .Mac email to work on it. I am not quite ready to upgrade to 4S (had thought to wait for 5)
    any workarounds out there??

Update: I was able to get a genius appt. and they helped set it to work with Caldev etc for ical and same with mail; contacts etc.

  • HT4918 I have to move from MobileMe to iCloud, my iTunes has another ID address, can I change the ID as the same in MobileMe? That would solve the problem?

Can someone please help me with this?? Thanks a lot!

Welcome to the Apple community Wongo.
To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photosstream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
Basically if you migrate your MobileMe account, it will not affect your iTunes account in any way.

iTunes will tell you when you sync.

  • How do I unregister a computer now that I have moved from MobileMe to iCloud?

My father has my old G5 computer and I was happy for my Mail to sync to that computer when I was with MobileMe.  However he would now like to use this computer for HIS own e-mails, not mine.  I cannot for the life of me find out how to ensure that my mail does not now go to the old computer!  It's very simple with MobileMe but, obviously, that doesn't now work!  I don't think that iCloud will work on the G5 but want to make sure!  Can anyone help please?  I've spent approx 4 hours so far trying to find out via various forums etc. etc.!!

He may continue to receive mail for a short while but it will eventually stop, his G5 cannot use iCloud.
If you want to be entirely sure delete the mail account from the mail application mail. mail preferences > accounts, select the account on the left and click the small "-" icon in the bottom left corner.

  • HT4597 Photos - moving from MobileMe to iCloud - is this possible?

    Hi,
I have some photos saved on the Mobile Me gallery (which is really good and annoying that Apple have discontinued it), how do I move them over to iCloud and can I still share them with people?
Any tips or advice would be really appreciated.  Thanks

iCloud provides only a very basic photo gallery, which is populated only from iPhoto for iOS, not from a Mac (so far), so this is not really suitable for what you want. You need to find a third party alternative - this page examines some options:

  • I moved from MobileMe to iCloud and all my contacts are lost! The only contacts I now have are from my Exchange account. Any help please. I tried "Import from SIM" but as all my contacts were on MobileMe, they're all gone!!

The only contacts I now have are from my Exchange account. Any help please. I tried "Import from SIM" but as all my contacts were on MobileMe, they're all gone!!

that happens for people who used icloud for everything but contacts. When they updated and went through initial
set up, signing into cloud enabled everything including cloud for contacts. Since they had zero contacts in cloud, cloud cleaned out their contacts, but synced everything else that icloud has, like calendars, reminders etc. If those contacts were never backed up anywhere - they gone. If there is back up in cloud, it needs to be restored.
Contacts sync in the cloud need to be turned off, right after restore.
