HT4597 Why does my photo library not appear in i-cloud?
I have just gone from the mobileme service to the i-cloud and the photo icon is absent from the i-cloud home page. I had expected that after 12 hours of upload time for my data that the photo library would be saved to the cloud but I cannot find it!

Yes, I am signed in to iTunes match on the macbook pro, iPhone , & iPad (all updated & correct music libraries) where I bought all the tunes but still no updated tunes on the iPhoto music library after 3 days of being on iTunes match.

since I have iTunes match, why does my iTunes library not appear in iPhoto music options for slideshow?; only songs purchased or placed on iTunes over a year ago appear in the iPhoto library under the iTunes or purchased option.

Why does my photo's not email on the classic or journal view? It appears blank.
Why does my photo's not email on the classic or journal view? It appears blank and no photos are emailed. I don't want to always use the themes
Make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot and the option to rebuild the small thumbnails.
Now those two templates again.

Why are my Photos albums not appearing in Flickr?
Anyone know why my albums that I create in Photos do not appear in Flickr? The photos appear but just in the photostream.
Where is it you want the navigation to appear?
Try this CSS -
#mainnav {
clear: both;
display: block;
float:right;
margin-right:50px;
margin-top:25px;
overflow:hidden;
padding:0;
width:350px;
Is that anywhere close? -
Why does my new ipad2 not have ios5 or cloud?
why does my new ipad2 not have ios5 or icloud ?
There are still some stock being sold with iOS 4 installed, but they should be getting rarer - if you don't have iOS 5 (and therefore the iCloud) then you can update to it for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4972

Why does the properties menu not appear with the templates?
Hi,
This is a bit hard to explain but maybe someone will get it.
If you draw a div on your deisgn window 'draw AP div' then
click somewhere on that div again, in the design window, then you
get a list of properties at the bottom such as width, height, top,
left, z-index etc....ok.
Now if i load the '3 column hybrid header and footer
template' and click on any div on the deisgn window of this
template then i dont get this properties menu at the bottom. The
width in the css template are set in 'em' btw if that matters.
Now i am thinking there is a fundmental difference betwee the
divs in the template than drawing a div using the 'draw AP div'
tool.??
It's kinda of like the templates are using pure css whereas
the AP div is a mixture, ok i am sure i am WAY of the mark here and
this is just a little thing. Can someone explain?
thanks for any advice!> Now if i load the '3 column hybrid header and footer

That's because the div *you* created was Absolutely
Positioned, and there is
a specific inspector for absolutely positioned elements. But
the divs in
the 3-column hybrid header and footer are NOT absolutely
positioned and so
you do not get the special inspector. If you are not sure
about the
difference between absolutely positioned and non-positioned
elements, then
you would be well advised to NOT use absolute positioning
until you do. It
will create big problems for you if you ignore this.
> The width in the css template are set in 'em' btw if
that matters.
That makes the container expand in width as the font size is
expanded by the
visitor, which is what is meant by the 'hybrid' term in the
sample file's
name.

tool.??
Yes, definitely. This may help you understand positioning a
bit -
There are 4 different types of positioning:
Absolute
Relative
Fixed
Static
Here is a brief explanation of each kind of positioning (with
regard to
placement of elements on the page only)....
Position:absolute (or A/P elements)
This does several things -
1. It 'removes' the element from the flow of the code on
the page so that
it can no longer influence the size or position of any other
page element
(except for those contained within it, of course).
2. The absolutely positioned element takes its position from
the position of
its closest PARENT *positioned* element - in the
absence of any explicitly
positioned parent, this will default to the <body> tag,
which is always
positioned
at 0,0 in the browser viewport.
This means that it doesn't matter where in the HTML code the
layer's code
appears (between <body> and </body>), its
location on the screen will not
change (this assumes that you have not positioned the A/P
element within
a table or another A/P element, of course).
Furthermore, the space in
which
this element would have appeared were it not positioned
is not preserved
on the screen. In other words, absolutely positioned elements
don't take
up any space on the page. In fact, they FLOAT over the page.
Position:relative (or R/P elements)
In contrast to absolute positioning, a relatively positioned
page element is
*not* removed from the flow of the code on the page, so
it will use the
spot
where it would have appeared based on its position in
the code as its
zero point reference. If you then supply top, right,
bottom, or left
positions
to the style for this element, those values will be
used as offsets from
its
zero point.
This means that it DOES matter where in the code the
relatively positioned
element appears (, as it will be positioned in that location
(factoring in
the offsets) on the screen (this is true for any placement in
the code).
Furthermore, the space where this element would have
appeared is
preserved in the display, and can therefore affect the
placement of
succeeding elements. This means that the taller a relatively
positioned element is, the more space it forces on the page.
Position:static
As with relative position, static positions also "go with
the flow". An
element with a static position cannot have values for
offsets (top, right,
left, bottom) or if it has them, they will be ignored. Unless
explicitly
positioned, all div elements default to static positioning.
Position:fixed
A page element with this style will not scroll as the page
content scrolls.
Support for this in elements other than page backgrounds is
quirky
There are several other things you need to know:
1. ANY page element can be positioned - paragraphs, tables,
images, lists,
etc.
2. The <div> tag is a BLOCK level tag. This means that
if it is not
positioned or explicitly styled otherwise, a) it will always
begin on a new
line on the screen, and b) it will always force content to a
new line below
it, and c) it will always take up the entire width of its
container (i.e.,
width:100%).
3. The placement of A/P elements *can* affect the BEHAVIOR of
other
elements
on the page. For example, a 'layer' placed over a hyperlink
will mask that
hyperlink.
You can see a good example of the essential difference
between absolute and
relative positioning here -
http://www.great-web-sights.com/g_layersdemo.asp
You can see a good demonstration of why using layers for a
page layout tool
is dangerous here -

When I go to share photos in iPhoto 11, The photos transfer to the email I'm sending but the photo information and location don't. The older version of iPhoto did it, why not this version? What am I missing in the process of sharing via email?, Thank You.
When you share to email do you get the following dialogue:

Why does the airplay icon not appear after upgrading to Mavericks on my iMac.
I am using an Apple TV, iPad 2, and an iMac with wifi sharing enabled. Before upgrading to mavericks I was easily able to use airplay to mirror the display of my ipad2 to a projector. After the upgrade the airplay icon will dispear. When I restart the wifi sharing on my imac then the airplay icon will reappear on my ipad.
Does anyone have a fix for this. I use this in my classroom and this problem made yesterdays lesson almost undoable because students were givng presentations and each time a student wanted to project thier ipad screen I had to reset my wifi.http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5404

Why does the Photos app not put photos in order of date when you create albums?
I have a lot of photos taken on holiday in Iceland and wanted to create an album of just the best ones to show friends. When you look through the whole lot in 'Collections' they are in date order, but in the 'Album' they are jumbled up. Anyone know how to reset them into order? I know you can move them around by 1. holding it till it wobbles then 2. moving to another place in the sequence ... but this is both impractical and horribly complex when dealing with a large number of photos. There should be a 'sort' feature that allows different options within albums, As an IT professional since 1967 (yes there were computers then ;-) it just seems odd that such a basic feature is missing. Come on Apple, get your act together!
Bug in iPhoto '11. Apple just released iPhoto 9.1.3 designed to fix this.

Why does browser.search.intab not appear to function in 8.0 ?
In Release 3.5 browser.search.intab set to 'true' causes a new tab to be opened when you do a toolbar search. That doesn't appear to be the case with 8.0.
Extremely useful feature!!browser.search.openintab
True: When performing a search from the Search Bar, open the results in a new tab.
False (default): Open search results in the current tab/window.
thank you

Why does true-type font not appear in the Microsoft Word Font menu?
Hi,
I am trying to install the "Apple Symbols.ttf" font so that I can use the male and female biological symbols in a Microsoft Word (version X) file. In "Font Book", I found the font under "All Fonts" and dragged it onto the "User" and "Computer" icons in the "Collection" column. However, when I restart Word, the font is not listed.
Is there anyone who could help me with this, please? The Help functions in Word and Font Book could not solve this problem.
Thanks in advance!
eMac Mac OS X (10.4.10)I am trying to install the "Apple Symbols.ttf" font
so that I can use the male and female biological
symbols in a Microsoft Word (version X) file.
The problem may be that Word v.X is non-Unicode (and kind of obsolete) and can't use a Unicode font like Apple Symbols to display ♀♂ . Best would be to move to Word 2004, TextEdit, or any other more modern word processor.
You might be able to use Word X for this if you can find an old non-Unicode symbols font somewhere that has these in place of Latin. -
bought new imac computer and have an ipad and an old itouch. I cannot seem to get my ipad library to fully sync to the new imac. Only the purchased items go across. Why does my iTunes library not properly synch w/ my Nano?
I have deslected several podcast within my iTunes library in order to remove them from my Nano, yet no matter how many times I run "update" the podcasts remain on the Nano. I have even deleted them from my iTunes library and they still remain on the Nano after updating.
What is the story here? I thought that only items selected within the library would be synched with the Nano. (Yes, I have changd my Preferences to "only update checked songs" and "manually manage podcasts." What else has to be done?
Toshiba w/ Windows XP Windows XPI figured it out! I could see ALL my music in the itunes media folder but my iTunes library only had a fraction of the files. I had to go into the itunes media folder and import them in.
