I had her change her password via the kpasswd command in terminal and that changed her password on the server sucessfully however the laptop has FileVault on it. Filevault is not recognizing the new password just the old password.
I have deleted the keychain which didn't resolve and now I am going to decrypt and reencrypt the drive. I'm hoping this is an isolated issue I have over 25 laptops configured like this.

I "think" the trick was unbinding and rebinding the computer account.
After unencrypting and trying to reencrypt Filevault would still not take the new password.
Rebooted the prompt to update the keychain appeared. Updated the keychain. Filevault would still not take the new password.
Unbinded and rebinded the computer account. It worked and let me add the user to filevault.

In Lion the Finder folder is now invisible. To make it permanetely visible enter the following in the Terminal applicaiton window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
For opening your domain file in Lion for the first time or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an applicaiton.

Backed up ipod to the cloud (12/25 11am) and then updated. Music is gone and the back up is not restoring?! why? What's the point of the cloud if nothing is there?

Ipod has been playing music in my car the past two years. new computer this year and new email address. Backed up to cloud. change ID on itunes. Music on my ipod disappeared. Shouldn't it be on the cloud somewhere?! What's the point of this cloud? And is it b/c I can't seem to change my icloud ID to the new one on my ipod settings?

Music is not stored in your personal iCloud account, or in your device backup. Music purchased from the iTunes store is in available for redownload as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519. Music from other sources such as your CDs should be in your iTunes library on your computer and can be synced back to your iPod from there.
To change the iCloud account on your device you have to delete the exsting account, then sign back into the new ID.

It has API Access, it can be developed using any coding software from Dreamweaver to Coda 2. This for many is the primary method of creating BC websites and has been for years, even before Adobe purchased the BC company.

Sorry, but none of this is correct. CC is a service created by Adobe to take all its software into the cloud, it is not just there to develop sites. In terms of storing your work in the cloud that is one of its primary functions. Ignoring BC and websites you can store your files, PSD's through your Creative Cloud account.

I communicate, I read and know a lot of Muse developers, Again your not correct here as well. Sorry for repeating this but this again simply not true and pretty much everything you have said so far is that.
A lot of Muse users develop very nice looking but basic in function websites, there are a lot who would like to do more such as eCommerce etc, you are not the norm in your thinking off what everything is from CC, BC and the web.

Again, this is not true. Most of the posts I see from Muse users is how they do more with BC and many want and ask how to upgrade their CC BC to offer more features. The Creative Cloud version of BC is the VERY BASIC version of it, it does not have most of the abilities it has if you have one of the higher plans.

In terms of your website, people make sites just for family etc and put them on the web, Real domain or not you can build a site for what ever you want. But its a website and will be out there on the web. Search engines like google will index such sites so if you do not want them out there on the internet do not create them to make them available.
I do not mean to be rude, but your comments are not valid and going no where. You not really understanding what anything is, your complaining about things are not true or things that you think do not exist when they do.
I have been developing sites on the Business Catalyst platform for over 5 years and using other coding platforms and other CMS's for longer then that. I am considered one of the people outside BC who know the platform for the most so please trust in what I am saying here.
If you want just hosting just use Creative Cloud or something like dropbox.
If you want to learn more about the web or building sites etc I suggest you go lean, there are many great resources out there.

A free app is free to download from the store. Some apps (both free and paid-for) then allow you to make in-app purchases within them e.g. to unlock extra features (items or levels in a game, extra features in other apps etc), to remove adverts (some free apps get money via adverts that are diaplayed in them, but you can sometimes pay to remove them).
If you don't want to be able to make in-app purchases then you can turn them off on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases 'off'.
As most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users, not iTunes Support, we won't know why you have been charged $40 in the last six months. Have you looked at the purchase history on your account (Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes), or contacted iTunes Support ?

If you click the book icon on the left end of the bookmarks bar you can manage all of your bookmarks. Bookmarks can be added individually to the bar (the shorter the name the more room for bookmarks) or you can create folders of bookmarks that can be accessed from the bookmarks bar.

I would like to use one library but with multiple ipods, but because they are my kids Ipods, and they each have their own gift cards, I'd like to be able to add money to their "profiles" without them having their own account - what is the best way

So here is my delima - I want one Ipod account - because I only want one library - since we all like the same music - but my kids, who have their own IPODS, have gift cards, who want to be able to keep track of their balance without the other child affecting the balance - meaning - each gift card should be seperate and not totalled to the single account - Beacuse the library is fairly large, having three libraries of large amounts would be a waste. I would also like to restrict their purchased to the gift cards only and not my credit card on file. Does this make sense? Once this is resolved, I'm assuming they would use their own playlists to copy their favorites to each Ipod. Or would I set up an account for each child - which I dont want to do, because I dont want them having access to my Credit Card, and only gift card balances. With multiple accounts, I'm assuming that would also build seperate libraries? We also have multiple computers, but I share the library to those computers -
What is the best way? I'd like to be able to add credit to a specific child (birthdays, etc) without the other child being able to access that credit. For simplicity sake.

When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.

Why JPA? What's the Point?

I'm creating a hobby application to learn new technologies. I have been struggling with the JPA portion for months now. What I would like to know is, what is waiting at the end of the tunnel? If I continue struggling with JPA and finally learn it, what have I gained? How is an application that uses JPA better than one that uses SQL statements for database operations?

First I believe that when an application gets to the point that C_Walker's four points come into play there will be JavaBean entity classes that contain more than just the @Entity and @Id annotations.
Also, even in a relatively simple application JPA is not quite as easy to use as C_Walker are indicating.
I am a little confused by point 3. In my hobby application I am assigning IDs in a non-portable way. I didn't think I had a choice, perhaps because I am using the Firebird database. Did I miss something in JPA? (Very likely.)
I hope I understand you to be saying that once I learn JPA and get it implemented, my applications will be more easily scalable.
I do have a question for you. If you were working on a small JSE desktop application where scalability was never going to be an issue, would you use JPA or JDBC?

Can I use container managed transactions or EntityManagers in helper classes in the EJB environment? Actually, I have already given up on container managed transactions. When a query returns entities with foreign entities, are the foreign entities automatically managed by the EntityManager? What is the correct way to insert a new foreign record? Do I create the foreign entity and relationship, then call persist() on it, or do I merge() the primary entity?
There is a little more to using JPA for persistence than there is to using JDBC. It doesn't seem to make my job easier.
What implementation of the Java Persistence API (JPA) are you using?
Everything I am using is Sun. I am using the GlassFish server with TopLink. I hope the information in the book you have suggested applies. My application is also using Sun JavaServer Pages, JavaServer Faces, and DynaFaces. I don't know if using any of these technologies affects how I can use the JPA or not. I have seen references on the Web indicating it does. If that is true, that is one more JPA complexity to deal with that probably wouldn't apply with JDBC.

Thank you for the info and links. I never actually read anything from Apple about Hebrew not being supported. Since I was able to use other languages, of seemingly greater complexity, I assumed that Hebrew would work. The patch I was speaking of (that makes Hebrew song titles, etc readable) is actually not a hack. It was developed by a student in an Israeli university and purchased by Apples regional distributor (Yeda Inc., Apple's Israeli distributor). The software is called iPodHE.

Why does SSL VPN require client for full functionality?So What's the point?

I was interested in SSL VPN because I thought that I could have the same functionality I have when connecting via Cisco VPN 3000 concentrator (IPSec with AH and ESP enabled), but without the hassle to deploy and maintain client VPN's for thousands of users.
However, to my disappointment, based on the information below from www.cisco.com (and I believe that it is the case from other vendors, right?) SSL VPN offers limited functionality if deployed clientless. Why is like that?
Imagine I have a VPN (IPSec) solution functional today. If I deploy SSL VPN (clientless) what lack in functionality should I experience? Why a VPN client is required if SSL VPN can successfully establish the tunnel? I don't get it.

Clientless SSL VPN only able to access application through browser (i.e. HTTP and HTTPS). If you need to acces other application like RDC, you need full SSL client.
Full SSL Client is deployed automatically depends on how you configure the SSL VPN box (temporary or permanently);
1. From the SSL VPN box, you can configure it to download and be installed to user PC permanently (500KB+). When the user successfully authenticated by the SSL VNP box, it will download the client and install automatically/permanently without any help from the network administrator. The user need to login on his/her PC with administrator priviledge.

In one of my deployment, I have 1000+ SSL VPN user. I just need to create a 10 page User Manual/Guide complete with troubleshooting on their own. I use the first option which is automatically download and permanently install in their PC. Patching the SSL VPN Full Client need to upload the new client in the SSL VPN box only and it will automatically patch the client in user PC.
