See the chart below to determine whether you can upgrade your device and what you can upgrade to. If you do not have a Software Update option present on your iDevice, then you are trying to upgrade to iOS 5 or higher. You will have to connect your device to your computer and open iTunes in order to upgrade.

I recently upgraded my three year old ipad to IOS 8 and it's working very slow and sometimes freezes. Can I go back to the old system?
No, downgrading the iOS version is not supported by Apple.
You could see if any of the following improve things :
- closing apps via the iPad's taskbar : iOS: Force an app to close.
- if having problems with Safari, clearing its history and data : Settings > Safari
- soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
- backing up (and copying any purchases over to your computer's iTunes library via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases) and restoring
- adjusting settings e.g. turning 'reduce motion' on (Settings > General > Accessibility), turning off 'background app refresh (Settings > General), turn off multitasking gestures (Settings > General)
- resetting back to factory defaults (after copying off purchases and any documents, photos etc that you want to keep) and then resyncing it back -
my iphone 5 is not letting me update to ios 7. it's saying "your software is up to date" at 6.1.4
If you have the original iPad 1, iOS 5.1.1 is as high as you can go with software updates.

My year-old iPad (running iOS 7) went dead overnight. why?
One day (last week), it worked just fine; the next day it was dead. Never dropped; nothing spilled on it; it just sat overnight on my desk and the next day, gone.
I had upgraded to iOS 7 a couple months ago, and no problems. So what gives. Anyone have a clue? I have AppleCare, I assume it will be repaired or replaced but this stinks. I was without my faithful device when I needed it most—sick in bed with the flu for the past week. (All better now.) Thanks in advance for whatever comments are offered. You mentioned your iPad is a year old. Have you already paid for extended AppleCare within the first year of ownership? Because, if you didn't , you only get the first year free and no way of paying for the extended warranty later.
It is possible that the battery prematurely failed. -

I have a 2 year old iPad updated to iOS 7.03. For some reason "Personal Hotspot" does not even come up as an option in " Settings" . I do not know if it was there in previous iOS versions as I've only just heard of it. I have tried it on 3G and WiFi. I have entirely deleted my WiFi and rebooted the iPad, all with no joy.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. ThankyouAs Stated... The iPad 2 does not offer this Feature.

Can i still get an insurance for my 1 year old iPad mini
can i still get/buy an insurance for my 1 year old iPad mini
No, it is accurate information. Read the AppleCare documentation
http://www.apple.com/support/products/ipad.html
A product is either eligible for AppleCare, or it is eligible for AppleCare+. No product is eligible for both extended warranty plans. An item eligible for AppleCare is NOT eligible at ANY time for AppleCare+ and an AppleCare+ eligible item is NOT eligible for AppleCare at ANY time.
Each item has a specific extended warranty plan it is eligible for. Those eligible for AppleCare+ are eligible ONLY for AppleCare+.
Since I do not know where the op is, I phrased my initial response as I did. IF they are in a country where AppleCare+ was available for their device, then no, they cannot purchase AppleCare for it, ever. Only if they are in a country that did not offer AppleCare+ (yet) and the item was eligible for AppleCare could they add it anytime within the year after purchase. -
I backed up my ipad to the cloud as it had a broken screen so I swaped it out for a new one and now I cant restore because the new Ipad has IOS 6 and my back up is 6.1! This is what I get for buying an Ipad twice in a week because of a broken screen? $500 the first buy and then another $299 plus tax for the swaped out one that I can't restore with my backup data.
I assume that you will have to set up as new since it will not let you restore from the backup. Then after you set it up, you can restore from the iCloud backup. The backup should not disappear be use you are setting this device up as new. Your backup should still be in iCloud.
However, after you activate the iPd and update the software, you will have to erase the device in order to restore from the Cloud backup, that is the only way to get to the iCloud backup.

Update your device to the latest version of iOS to be able to restore the backup. -
My old iPad has purchased movies on it from iTunes Store, however they do not appear on my new iPad - what can I do to fix this? Thanks. My new iPad air is wifi only
You might, depending upon what country that you are in (redownloading films isn't possible in all countries), the studios that they are from (even where redownloading is possible not all studios have agreed to it), and whether they are still in your country's store (studios ocassionally remove their films), be able to redownload them on your new iPad via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app.
If not then you will need to connect your old iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy them over to it via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, and you can then sync them to your new iPad. -
Hello; I am planning on buying an older "unopened" adobe creative suite package that runs on Mac OS X v.10.2.4 through v.10.2.7. My mac is one year old and has the latest os x 10.9.5. Will the older creative suite run on my mac?

My four year old iMac has developed horizontal lines and gradations of gray over the last month. Is my machine on its way out? Is there anyway to fix the display?
If you live near an Apple Store, make a Genius Bar appointment to have the computer tested. Supposedly there is no charge for testing.
