Is the device recognized in iTunes? What happens when you try to sync? What have you done to try and correct it? Before anyone can recommend anything, they need to know a little more information.

As you would have noticed... Thunderbird has no clock.
It gets all time, date and locale specific information such as daylight savings and timezone from the operating system.
So you best check your operating system, especially the timezone information.
The timezone must be correct or mail times will be off as mail uses GMT as the time and the offset to show the correct time. It is irrelevant of the time on your computer shows as correct. That can be set by overriding the timezone information.

Some have reported success simply by reinstalling the update.

I'd suggest starting with the simplest of these fixes, so look them over first.

If you have any podcasts in your iTunes library you should see a Podcasts sync setting tab to the right when you connect your phone and click on its name on the left sidebar (see image below). On this tab check to sync podcasts and sync your phone.

I do apologize I didn't catch that you are using iCal.
Syncing with iCal it is one of a few possibilities. A conflict with the data in SyncServices, hence the Reset Sync History as the first thing to try.
If it isn't a conflict in SyncServices it could be corrupted data on either the iPhone or in iCal.
This thread has some suggestions that may help, by having you export your calendars, and then re-import them it causes the data in iCal to be rebuilt.

You should be able to sync your 3GS to your computer and make a backup. Then connect your iPhone 4S and restore from a backup. This should effectively move all your data to your new device. Report back if you have any problems.

After the new iOS update on my phone, my iTunes on my MAC will not sync. The error message I receive says I need to update iTunes, but it's already updated to the last version and there are no updates available when I go thru the iTunes menu. HELP!

Apple fans. Don't fret. I struggled with this since Saturday when I got my new phone. im pretty tech savvy with a background in computers and I'm a mechanic by trade so i generally know how things work and figure out anything. After trying everything you all have probaby tried as well I did some comparisons to my wife's phone. I paid all three of our cars to her phone easily. One is a Honda hand free link, the other a Hyundai sonata system and the last a pioneer aftermarket Bluetooth with streaming,avrcp etc. after her iPhone 6 128gb connected and worked flawlessly, I narrowed the problem down to my phone specifically. It's not the phone, it's not the ios8, it's not your car. It's your settings. All I did was reset network settings and bam. Problem fixed. You see I messeed with a bunch of stuff in the beginning trying to avoI'd data overage and must have turned something off by mistake. Another theroy I have is my iPhone 5 setting were copied over in the process of migration and they were maybe incompatible with the iPhone 6 itself. With Update 1.1.3 iPhone no longer syncs with iCal

I run Leopard on a MacBook Pro. After upgrading my iPhone to 1.1.3, iCal and the calendar on iPhone no longer syncs, at all. I brought this to the NYC Soho Apple Store, but the genius couldn't figure it out. Only the two default calendars "Home" and "Work" synced, although not every time. Help! What should I do now? Enter events twice? Once in the iPhone, since that's what I take with me, and once on iCal, since when restoring iPhone settings that's what's used? Many thanks!

I'm not sure I understand what the problem is -- first you said it doesn't sync at all, and then you said that your Home and Work calendars sync intermittently.
Personally, I would do several things:
1) Make sure you are not using Entourage -- and if you are, make sure all Sync functions are unchecked in preferences so that nothing is using Mac's sync services and copying back and forth.
2) Print out your calendars (use month view) for the entire year so that you have a backup.
3) Do you need to have separate calendars? I find it ridiculous personally to have work and home and entourage calendars, and combine them into one. It's all my calendar information anyway, and it goes with me everywhere, why would I want more than one calendar....anyway....not to get off on a tangent...
If you can do without two calendars, combine them all into one (you export one of them, then import it back into the other one, then delete the one your exported and imported. You can do a search for the help topic on how to combine calendars.
Rename the one combined calendar your name, rather than home or work. Sync your iPhone. On the Info tab, make sure that you have the calendar name selected (it will recognize the new name of your calendar. Also make sure you have the sync to: Your Name calendar selected.
4) If that does not work, I would totally delete all of my calendars from iCal - and sync (to erase all the calendar information from your iPhone).
5) Create a new calendar, and manually re-enter all your calendar information. Sync new information to your iPhone.
In reality -- I have no idea why you are having problems -- I also have 1.1.3 on my iPhone, and I also sync with iCal. I haven't had any problems -- but then I only have the one calendar.

After switch from Outlook to Mail, iPhone won't sync with Address Book

Using Lion, I recently dropped Outlook 2011 in favor of Mail (did not uninstall though, do not want to).
My problem is this, iTunes and iPhone won't sync with Address Book, they remain stuck on syncing with the Outlook address book. The issue is only for the address book, the iPhone syncs fine with iCal for some reason.

Did you try hooking them all up to iCloud? That should do that trick for Address Book and iPhone.
Alternatively, you could try connex.io. You would be able to sync all of your contacts between iPhone, Address Book and Outlook (and more if you want to). It also de-duplicates, cleans, completes and updates your contacts for you. So you jsut connect your services and connex.io takes care of the rest.

My iPhone 2G has decided to no longer sync with my iTunes. I do not have internet on my computer (I'm doing this on a friend's), so when I connect my iPhone to my computer, an error message pops up that says "Cannot access the iTunes store". Since my iPhone is normally synced manually, I can still drag new files onto it; however, any movies/podcasts on the iPhone keep reappearing even after I've deleted them (from the iPhone itself). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Delete then re-install iTunes & Delete the following files:
The iTunes application (located in /Applications)
com.apple.iTunes.plist (from ~/Library/Preferences)
iTunes.pkg (from /Library/Receipts)
iTunesX.pkg (from /Library/Receipts)
then re-download the latest version of iTunes.
