Basics from the user guide have always been, and still remain, restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

I am having the SAME exact problem! Except instead of lock button broken it's my home button so I can't do the whole "put in recovery mode" deal. My screen only says "tap the home button 3 times" and it has my screen locked until I hit the home button but since it is broken I can't get in my phone at all. I have all of my work info in my phone so I'm screwed and can't get any help. PLEASE let me know if you find a way around this...!!!

After I hv upgraded os 6 on my iPhone 4, iPhone hung up at least one per day. After u press "End" 2 times( i used to do this in the old os) or when u slide to unlock - the screen suddenly enlarge . I need to reset the phone whenever this happen. Pls help

the ipod screen will not let me slide to unlock but i can listen to music when i double tap the home button and use the camera. when i use the camera only the bottem part where you snap a picture will work if i touch any part of the screen. my ipod was no where near water and was working right before i put it down.

Try a Reset...
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release the buttons...

HT1414 My camera is working on iPad but when I slide to video the screen goes to grey and stays stuck there 3 week old ipad

I got my iPad 3 weeks ago and has been fine, yesterday went to use the video and it won't load the screen

Try this
tap home button twice to show open apps. Press and hold video app till it jiggles then tap red circle to close.
Tap home button again to go back to home screen. Open video app and try again.
Still problem? then try this
Make sure IOS is updated to latest version
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).

Ive been to the ipod store multiple times and they seem to fix my problem every time while im there but once i get home its still there... the problem is that i connect my ipod to the computer and it shows up as a digital camera but wont show on the compu

so my ipod is not operating properly and im tryin to fix it and ive been to the genius bar twice now and when im there it seems like theyve gotten it to work but once i return home my ipod is unable to connect to itunes, the computer picks it up as a digital camera and i can not connect it to itunes... now honestly all i want to do is put some music on there, but the computer wont allow me to do that at all so any ideas?

I was given an iPhone 5s (not brand new) and the screen is totally smashed. It connects to iTunes and beeps constantly when I charge it but the screen is totally black and remains that way no matter what I try?

I've tried restoring it and resetting it to factory settings but nothing is working. Can an iPhone get so smashed that the screen stops working completely? If I got the screen fixed would it be fixed? ahhh

Sure it can. The screen is a sensitive part of the phone. Whatever caused the glass to break may have caused other more extensive damage to the internla components.

No way to answer that. Its impossible to know if only the screen is damaged or if something else suffered damage when the screen broke.
Judging by the constant beeping, I would think its developed a short or some other failure somewhere from the accident.

My guess would also be a failling connection between your logicboard and your GPU. See 2011 MacBook Pro and Discrete Graphics Card
For most users it starts with some random crashes and freezes like you describe it. And then it just gets worse and worse. There are still no "good" solutions, sadly. This is a hardware problem from the production.

The only way is to login to iCloud with your computer browser and wipe the iPhone.
If you can't then you have a brick, Apple won't help and AL cannot be bypass.
