HT4623 After updating to IOS 6, my iPhone won't restore from back up.
I updated my iPhone 3GS to the new IOS 6 and i backed it up before i done anything. and it starts to restore from back up but it gets 3/4 way done and the green bar stops moving and the time remaining goes up instead of down. what do i do to restore from my back up?
I Just found it on the apple site, it arrived on a cd a few days later and worked just fine again.
i would recommend backing everything up just in case. Better safe than sorry, trust me. I've lost so much when i didnt back up once when re-installing the system.

Alright, this is what's wrong. I have an iphone 4s, which has always been working perfectly, but I decided to update it to the IOS 7 when it became available.
Once I had updated, which took forever, it seemed to work just fine again although very different from what i was used to. No matter I thought, I'd get used to it.
Today I then plugged it into my 4 year old macbook (running OS X 10.5.8 and unable to update for some reason) and it said that my iphone couldn't sync with the itunes, that I needed to update to Itunes 1.11 or newer, but - and here's the kicker - the version of Itunes available on the apple site, won't work unless I have operating system OS X 10.6.8 or newer.
So basically, updating my iphone has made it much worse, has made my expensive macbook fairly useless, at least for updating my phone.
I'm just thankful that I haven't updated my Ipad yet, now knwoing that it won't work right after the update anyway.
Any suggestions or ideas as to what I can do? I really don't wanna go out and spend a fortune on a new laptop just so I can sync my itunes.

It's apparent that a folder that was visible on my iPhone 5 while running iOS 8.1.1, is no longer visible after an update and restore on iOS 8.1.2. The folder had several apps I used regularly. They must be on the phone, because after initiating a 'Spotlight Search' for apps in they now invisible folder, the appear listed in the results.
Has anyone had this occur on their phone after an upgrade to the new iOS version? Is there anyone that can suggest at 'fix' or should i just try to restore again?

FabianSo you have checked all of the home screens and the folder does not exist? I've not witnessed hidden folders. Try a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone reboots, see if you can locate it. If not, then you can go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. This should remove all apps from folders and reset your home screens.

If your iMessage and FaceTime still hasn't activated by now, I would recommend you use this specific section of the following article as long as you verify you've done all the other troubleshooting from it for this issue:
If you get an error when trying to activate iMessage or FaceTime
If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.

Same problem here on four devices, two of which aren't even running iOS 7. App updates just disappear from the app store app and the app tells me all my apps are up to date when they aren't.
This problem fixed itself on the iPhone 4 this morning after I synced it with iTunes last night. My iPad 3 is now listing app updates, but it stalls when I try to download them, so I'm updating via iTunes now.
I suspect this is a server problem on Apple's end (I noticed iTunes match isn't working this morning either....). Try syncing your phone with iTunes in the meantime or updating each app individually through the purchased app list (just click on it and you can update on a per app basis). -

If it now says "invalid" or "unsupported" SIM, your iPhone was almost certainly hacked to unlock it from the original cell carrier and updating has now removed that hack and the iPhone has relocked back to that original carrier. You will have to contact that carrier and ask if it would be possible to get your iPhone officially unlocked.

My suggestion:
Reset your device: Settings>>General>>Reset>>Reset All Ajustments.
It will restore to all company ajustments, but it will not delete anything at all.
After that, do not Sign In Facebook, I see many people got problems after Sign In Facebook.
In my device, I do not fill last names, I just fill names in "First Name".
Another question: Are you sync your contacts with Outlook or iCloud? I have suggested another one to do not sync with Outlook and, in iTunes:
1.In resume, mark "Backup in iCloud"
2. open Information and unmark the "Sync Contacts With". roll down the page and, in "Advance" field, unmark everything.
3.Sync your device again.
It probably will help you.

Can't send iMessage after update to IOS 7 on iPhone 5
After I update to IOS 7 on iPhone 5 the iMessage function seems not working properly. when I trying to send iMassage the "sending" bar loads up to 90% (slowly) and then stops dead and doesn't move. It stays at that 90% mark until it either starts working, many minutes later, until I delete the message, until it goes to "sending failed" or whatever it says with the little red "!" it will not automatically send by text even the iMessage function is not working. This problem wasn't happened all the time but regularly. This problem happened when I update to IOS 7 on my iPhone 5 and also happened in my friends' iPhone 5 with IOS 7. After I restart everything will back to normal until it crashes again.
Anyone who get the same problem like me?I found the same solution, resetting network settings. Sure we have to re-input Wi-Fi network passwords, but it's not a big deal. What is a big deal is that this solution is temporary -it works for a day or two and then the problem returns, for both me (iPhone 4, 7.0.2 Verizon) and my wife (iPhone 5, 7.0.2 AT&T). I've just reset my network settings for the 2nd time since installing iOS 7 on launch day and 7.0.2 on it's launch day.
C'mon Apple! A little help here? I really don't want to have to do this every few days. -
After updating to iOS 8.3 I can now no longer back up my iPhone 6 to iCloud?
It says I do not have enough storage space. But I do. It has been backing up perfectly fine until I updated to iOS 8.3 and now it says I need an extra 3.4 GB of storage space? I have all apps turned off for backing up except my photos. I only have 1.3 GB of photos. No other old backups or anything. I can't figure out what this other 3.4 GB of space is and why this just happened after updating to iOS 8.3. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

Error-1 generally indicates a hardware failure. You'll need to bring your phone to Apple for evaluation. -

3. Should i come to app store with this problem?I'm having this same problem too. Worked fine prior to iOS update. I contacted Verizon this morning who advised that this is a known issue. They suggested I backup my device, and perform a factory data reset. When prompted to update to iOS 8 again, re-installation has been known to resolve the issue. With all the problems with iOS 8, camera, and overall device slowing, I might just wait for a follow on SW turn.

IPhone will not restore from back up after updating to iOS 6.1.3
I tried to update to iOS 6.1.3 last night and my iPhone crashed, putting it into recovery mode. Then when I tried to restore from my last back up I got this
I have tried to restore from three different back ups I have and keep getting the same error. Why will it not restore from back up? I've had the phone two years, so had alot of stuff on it that I need to get back.

Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
Release the Buttons...
If no joy...
Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings.
If the issue persists...
Connect to iTunes on the computer you usually Sync with and Restore
