How can I recoverd my Ipad from the recovery mode?
It does not restart or restor no functions at all.

Did you try restarting by holding down the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo? Take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1275

I am about to go get my 4th iphone 4s since November!  Up in the left corner where it shows your signal strength, it goes into searching mode and stays there.  Kills my battery.  While in searching, no calls can be made/recieved, no internet, etc. This one has lasted the longest-I got it December 23.  Any ideas out there?

Both.  The first two, I did use my itunes.  The guy at the apple store said that could be the problem.  The last time they gave me a new phone and SIM card, and the tech said it wouldnt be the itunes.  Just to be safe, I never connected this phone to the itunes until last night-after it started searching- to save everything since I'm sure they will be replacing the phone today.  But hey, thanks for the suggestions.  I'm about at my wits end with Apple!!  Especially since i added a third line to my account just so I could get an iphone back.

  • I am unable to sync my old Itunes library to the IMac I purchased last month, I tunes wants to erase the old library except for the ITunes I have purchased. Any ideas  out there?

I am unable to sync my old Itunes library to the IMac I purchased last month, I tunes wants to erase the old library except for the ITunes I have purchased. Any ideas  out there?

    - You can only syncewith one iTunes library.  It sounds like you change libraries such as changing the computer.
    - As you may know you can transfer iTunes' pruchases to a new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - This previous discussion provide info on how to move other music from an iPod to a computer:
    Best iPod to PC
    - You can also manage music with different computers by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
    - If you need more help please provide more information.

I restored my ipod touch however the apps will not sync.  I tried to re-download but I changed my apple id as my old id is no longer a valid email address.  Any ideas out there please?

It might be logical to someone, but not to me. I agree it's a pain.
How did you change your Apple ID? Creating a new one is not what you want to do, but if you changed the ID associated with your purchases then that might have worked. You would need to sign in with the Apple ID on both your iPod Touch as well as in iTunes. I'm not sure how you changed it but clearly they need to match.
If it's just your password that is not getting recognized reset it here: http://iforgot.apple.com/
It will send an email confirmation to the email address associated with that Apple ID. The email address you elect to use might not look anything like your Apple ID. If you don't appear to get an email check your spam filter.

  • YouTube films are only playing audio, no pictures any ideas out there. Mike D

YouTube films are only playing audio, no pictures. Any ideas out there I have already cleared out my Safari history as suggested in another post, this solved the issue for a day but back to square one now.

I am having the same problem. Last night during a long call using headphones, suddenly I could not be heard, but I could hear the person I was talking to. I did not try the speaker. This morning with out the headphone twice I placed a call and heard no ringing, but the call did connect as I was told they got the call, but no one was there. I just reset the phone and will see what happens. I was thinking of going to the Apple store were I got the phone, but if they are going to ship it off rather than exchnage it, that is a no go for me at this point.

  • I've been using iMovie for a while now to make movies out of mostly travel photos and video clips.  I try to vary the time for the photos from 1-4 sec.  Any ideas out there?

I've been using iMovie for a while now to make movies out of mostly travel photos and video clips.  I try to vary the time for the photos from 1-4 sec., although most of them are 1-2 seconds so as to keep it short.  A friend of mine who saw my most recent product said that this is too short.  Any ideas out there?

I apologize for my confusion on your question.  I find that depending on the principal of each photo and my target audience to determine the time frame for each photo.  It seems most people get impatient with viewing one photo for more than 1-2 seconds if the photo is not complex.
If there are several things that interests the viewers in any one image, they want to look at it a second or two longer.  If the movie of images is a training aid, the images may need to be more than 3 seconds.  For intro's, or a trailer for a training movie, no longer than 1-2 seconds.
That was a long answer to say, generally speaking, I find 3 seconds to be an average time length.

  • HT4906 I cannot enable Photostream on my iBook though it's active on my iPad - any ideas out there please?

I cannot enable Photostream on my iBook though it's active on my iPad - any ideas?

If your iBook supports Mt. Lion and iCloud and you are correctly signed in to the same iCloud account on your iBook that the iPad is signed into try the following:
Disable Photo Stream in the System/iCloud preference pane
and in iPhoto's Photo Share preference pane.
Reboot and reenable both respectively. That should jump start Photo Stream.
NOTE: You mention iBook in your post but your profile indicates MacBook.  Which is it an is it running Mt. Lion?

  • HT201263 iPad recovery mode says "Waiting for iPad" but never progresses.  Any suggestions?

I have a iPad 2 that will not power up nor will it recover.  When plugged in, iTunes detects the iPad is in recovery mode and tells me I must restore to continue.  I agree and iTunes downloads the recovery and updates file, decompressed it, verifies it, then says it is Preparing the iPad for recovery.  I then get the apple logo on the iPad screen with a progress bar.  iTunes then says "Waiting for iPad".  The progress bar never moves and iTunes has said Waiting for iPad for 2-hours now.  When I disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, the logo/progress bar remains until I do a hard reset (home button/power button) to power it off.  Power button alone will not power it off.  Again, the iPad will not power up and again, iTunes will recognize it when plugged in and the whole cycle starts over again.

When did this start happening? I mean, what was happening to the ipad that prompted you to try a restore in the first place?
Did this start when trying to updated the ios?
There were some issues awhile back with ipad 2 and updating to ios 6.1. The ios file had to be downloaded seperately to the computer and all other previous ios update files previously downloaded had to be deleted from the computer.
If what I'm saying describes the issue, then take a look at the following article links, otherwise, you may just have to keep trying to follow HT1808 (it may take several attempts).

  • How do I get my iPod out of the recovery mode loop?

While I was updating my iPod Touch 5g (32GB) to the latest iOS 6.1, the USB by mistake got ditached from my mac and the iPod's screen turned to a USB pointing towards the iTunes logo(Recovery Mode). It showed the same thing when I restarted it around 10 times. After connecting it to iTunes it said that "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." After pressing OK on this message the screen I get on iTunes is of an iPod with the name "iPod" and not "Akshat's iPod". It says "iPod Recovery Mode" and has a button to restore. On pressing the restore button a message comes up to confirm the restore and the buttons are "cancel" and "Update and Restore". On pressing "Update and Restore" it searches for a latest software for the iPod and tells to download iOS 6.1 and after pressing download it happily take 4-5 hrs and gets dowloaded. Now, during this downloading period, the iPod keeps restarting on itself and the same message "iTunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." appears and after pressing OK it doesnt affect anything but this comes up more than 10-15 times. After the software download the status bar says "processing the download" and this continues for as long as we wait(i.e. it only stops when we press OK when the next message of recovery mode appears). The status bar again shows the apple logo. After this I have to again press the button of Restore iPod>Restoe and Update>Download iOS 6.1 and so the same procedure follows. I have done this about 5 times now, each time taking about 6 hours. I still haven't updated or restored my iPod. I can't get it to waork! This description is too long but I would appreciate if you would help me find a solution for this problem.

    Maybe:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

Then try restoring on another computer.
Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My iPhone 3Gs is stuck in Recovery Mode. My phone has never been jailbroken. What can I do to get it out of the Recovery Mode loop?

My iPhone 3Gs went into Recovery Mode yesterday when I got home. When I plug it into my computer iTunes opens and gives me this message "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I click the "Restore iPhone" button and wait while iTunes reinstalls the software on the iPhone. As soon as the install is done, I get the same message again "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." I'm stuck in a Recovery Mode loop. How do I get out?
This iPhone has never been jailbroken. After a litte research on line I saw some people got stuck in Recovery Mode after a jailbreak, but this is not the case here. Please help.

  • HT4623 my ipod is stuck in recovery mode? How do I repair

M ipod is stuck in recovery mode after update, how can i repair without losing my info

Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
       1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the
other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
       2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds
until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
                  * If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the
Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
      3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
      4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
      5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
      6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
If you have a problem getting into recovery mode then try: RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode.
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.
